@Oct24 thank you!

Yes , I plan to. I have PCOS & irregular cycles so I genuinely don't know although a guess would be 5-6 weeks. I have been trying 8 years and I've finally managed to conceive using metformin but it's opened up new anxieties! Xx

cm3212 · 20/02/2024 09:30

@Oct24 will you be getting an early scan?

LuxeBiscuit · 20/02/2024 09:33

@Bb542 I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself x

LuxeBiscuit · 20/02/2024 09:36

@tryingforbaba oh no! lol. Hopefully it wasn't too much!

I usually only remember dreams once every month or so. The vivid dreams are very odd.

I woke up this morning more tired than I went to bed 😩

Oct24 · 20/02/2024 09:37

@cm3212 wow! What a journey you have been on. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you. I'm a nervous wreck too. I've had chemical pregnancies in the past and a front row seat to a lot of friend's going through losses.

We've had one scan already at 5+3. We saw the fetal pole and heard a heartbeat. I'm now eagerly awaiting my next scan at 7+3. Praying that little heart is still beating and getting stronger.

Bee49 · 20/02/2024 09:45

@Bb542 so sorry lovely. A lot of us have been where you are and it’s an awful awful club to be part of. Wishing you all the luck for the future xxx

@JLT24 Your body will tell you if you need more, I’m sure. You might find you get very hungry! You may also have to change if you get nausea, the only way to try and curb it is to continually eat!

@ChyLL congratulations! I didn’t get a 3-4 until I tested at 5+4. Potentially could have got it a bit earlier if I’d tried but I think 1-2 is fine at this stage. They’re very inaccurate and have a huge range of HCG they test for.

@summerbubs my partner won’t come anywhere near me while pregnant so there won’t be any of that until baby is out 😂

Also sleeping terribly. Waking up 10+ times a night.

mumsince2021 · 20/02/2024 09:49

@tryingforbaba I was sweating all night and woke up once haven't dreamt I was bleeding 😩 horrible!

mumsince2021 · 20/02/2024 09:53

*having dreamt

ChyLL · 20/02/2024 09:55

@Bee49 thank you for your message. I think I just need to not do a date test (or any test if I can help it) for an another week. As hopefully this time next week the numbers will show different 😊

mumsince2021 · 20/02/2024 10:00

@ChyLL I completely understand how you're feeling. I have always been someone who uses a weeks digital at 4-5 weeks along then again at 5 weeks along with the hope of seeing 2-3 progress to the 3+. I only got to 2-3 weeks with my last pregnancy which was a loss but I have friends who have had a successful pregnancy and never got the 3+ so try not to worry just now. I've even seen some people use two of the CB digital weeks tests in the same urine sample and they came out with different results! They really aren't meant to be perfect indicators of your progress although we do all still use it that way 🤦‍♀️

NewtothisFBK4921 · 20/02/2024 10:06

Hello! So excited to join! This will be my second :)

ChyLL · 20/02/2024 10:06

@mumsince2021 thank you for your message. With my first I used them and was greatful seeing them progress each time.

I’ve read so many different things about them working sometimes and others not.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss 💜 I had a loss in 2020 before I had my first child in 2021 and i think it makes me worry a bit more.

I have an early scan next months if all goes well so will need to stay as positive as I can (if I can) x

cm3212 · 20/02/2024 10:07

@Oct24 many many years of appointments & specialists!

Ahh amazing that must have been nice seeing the heartbeat ❤️.. I think I'm definitely going to book an early private scan, I won't be able to wait for my NHS one. Just want to make sure everything is as it should be x

CluelessInLondon · 20/02/2024 10:11

@Bb542 I'm so sorry to hear you are experiencing a loss - take care of yourself. There is an amazing miscarriage support thread in the pregnancy loss forum if you feel it would be helpful, it was a massive lifeline for me when I lost my first pregnancy a few months ago.

@summerbubs We haven't DTD for a little while - partly because I'm really paranoid about anything that might trigger bleeding (I know sex is safe in pregnancy but if I see even a hint of blood I am going to freak out and panic), and also because I'm normally exhausted by 10pm at the moment and need to go to sleep!

Oh no @tryingforbaba! Maybe that's a sign you need an extra wee before bed? That's what I've always assumed those sorts of dreams mean - and maybe even more so when you're pregnant and need to pee more generally. I'm getting to sleep fine at the moment because I'm really tired at night, but then waking up earlier than I need to which is so annoying!

@Creamandhoney @NewtothisFBK4921 Welcome and congratulations! Congratulations to you too @ChyLL - try not to worry too much about the weeks indicator, it's not an exact science and is just a range. It's a nice reassuring thing to see it progress but if it doesn't then it doesn't automatically mean something is wrong.

@JLT24 Do you have a booking appointment with a midwife coming up? You could discuss your calorie intake there - you're right that the recommendation is to increase intake in the third trimester but 1400 is way below the recommended calorie intake for an adult female anyway (even if you increased by 200 you would still be below the recommended amount!) so you might need to eat more. I'm finding I can't go as long as usual without getting hungry so am trying to make sure I've got small snacks available to keep me going between bigger meals, and eating helps stave off nausea as well.

I've just realised that this thread is nearly full and we're going to need another one soon! @tryingforbaba do you want to do the honours?

ChyLL · 20/02/2024 10:17

Thank you @CluelessInLondon will definitely try and not overthink it and will wait a week if I decide to do one again!
So nice to find a Oct 24 group! I was on one when I had my son and it was lovely x

I have a booking appointment but not until 13th March! I’ve been eating 1400 kcals for years and stayed the same weight, I do very little exercise as I’ve got a chronic illness. I’m going try to eat 1600 kcals a day until my appointment it’s hard to eat more!!

mrssunshinexxx · 20/02/2024 16:15

4 weeks 2 days here got booking app for late next month honestly just know these 8 weeks are going to draaaaag!
This is my third and was a very big surprise shall we say!

4LeafCloverBaby · 20/02/2024 16:31

Nearly 8 weeks & having horrendous indigestion, bloating, wind & constipation all at the same time 😔👎🏼

CDD · 20/02/2024 16:35

Hi Everyone

I have been watching the feed waiting to join as I have been so nervous.
I am currently 7+6 with 2nd pregnancy with my DD being 14years old. To say it was a shock is an understatement but I couldn’t be happier. Congratulations and good luck to everyone on their BFP’S.

@Bb542 I am so sorry to hear about your loss as everyone has said take time for you and there are a lot of people you can talk to. I have been in your position before and know how difficult it is. Hear if you need to talk in private chat.

hopingforapeainapod · 20/02/2024 17:07

Hi all - anyone else only 4/5 weeks and absolutely bloody exhausted?! I’m only 5 weeks on Thursday and am already so tired - I’ve come home from work and had to nap both yesterday and today. I’m on progesterone which I guess is making me extra sleepy but I’m having loads of other symptoms already - sore boobs, quite shaky in the mornings, strong sense of smell - that I have no idea how some people don’t know they are pregnant until they are 6+ weeks! First baby for me and the 12 week scan seems soooo far away already…

Ash4317 · 20/02/2024 17:12

Hey all, would love to join this thread. I'm 5+4, rough due date 18th October.

I've booked a scan for 8 weeks because I thought it would be the best time. Is anyone getting or had a scan earlier than this? Could you see much / was it worthwhile?

CluelessInLondon · 20/02/2024 17:17

@hopingforapeainapod I was absolutely shattered around the 5 week mark - had one late night and it knocked me out for two days, I felt like I could sleep every time I sat down! More energy now (7+6 today) but still getting tired earlier than normal in the evenings.

@CDD @Ash4317 Welcome and congratulations to both of you. @Ash4317 I had my first scan last week at 7+2, for me it was absolutely worthwhile because of a previous loss - we could see the embryo and heartbeat, it wasn't especially 'baby-shaped' yet but allowed us to see that everything was as it should be and the measurements were correct for 7 weeks as well. I've got another one next Friday where I'm hoping to see something that looks a bit more like a baby and less like a potato!

hopingforapeainapod · 20/02/2024 17:33

@CluelessInLondon thats reassuring! I feel like I have heard so many horror stories about the first trimester that I assumed if I felt this zonked this early on I would inevitably be in for a really rough ride, so it’s nice to hear things can get better (even if other symptoms kick in!)
