@cm3212 thank you!! It’s great your GP will do the tests, mine won’t at all so have had to pay for them! Yeah I’m doing a scan at 7+5/8weeks! Wbu?

cm3212 · 18/02/2024 10:42

@Sunandsea13 yes, because of the PCOS and I told them I was feeling quite anxious they have been quite good to be fair. They'll probably only do the next one Monday to ensure it's gone up and that's it.

It's rubbish that yours hasn't .. where have you been getting them done?

Yes I think I'm going to wait until I think I'm around 7 weeks (was going to go sooner but from advice on here I'll wait a little bit) xxx

Sunandsea13 · 18/02/2024 11:00

@cm3212 that’s so nice of them!! Have been having to pay £60 a go at a London clinic!

did they mention anything about the PCOS? Anything you need to do extra? I got a progesterone test to check that but can’t see any other PCOS issue

Sunandsea13 · 18/02/2024 11:01

@cm3212 yeah I want to know that I should hear the heartbeat rather than going at 5/6weeks and being told to come back

cm3212 · 18/02/2024 11:04

@Sunandsea13 nope, nothing extra, I've seen my gynae aswell and as I conceived using metformin (been trying about 8 years) she's just told me to keep taking that for now. My BMI is slightly high aswell so taking a higher dose of folic acid. So nothing particular which is good!

Sunandsea13 · 18/02/2024 11:09

@cm3212 that’s great :)

tryingforbaba · 18/02/2024 12:42

Is anyone exercising??

I'm a regular exerciser and trying to keep it up but STRUGGLING.

Zero energy, motivation and just feel like I need to be horizontal.

@tryingforbaba also struggling! Used to do almost daily yoga but this last week (I’m 7 weeks) I’ve felt as if I can barely get up the stairs! Hoping to try and keep active where possible as know it’ll probably help but it’s very very hard at the moment with the nausea and exhaustion. Feel like lack of exercise defo impacts my mood though so keen to get back on it asap!

Is anyone in this group considering private NIPT? I read ‘expecting better’ and it’s made me consider doing it at 10 weeks with a scan at the same time. I’m not sure why I’m so overly anxious with this pregnancy, I was quite laid back last time with my daughter! Possibly as I had a miscarriage last year, and am also that bit older this time (was 33 with my daughter, am 36 now and will be 37 when baby arrives), just want to know everything is alright asap!

KittyFantastica · 18/02/2024 14:24

I'm only five weeks and struggling to make it past 10pm before I'm out like a night. I'm usually a night owl. Today, I've had a headache and got weird pounding in my ears just from walking up the stairs. Had a ten minute snooze and then fine and did the hoovering. Such a small amount of activity has me feeling like superwoman 🤣. God knows how I'll get on when symptoms actually set in.

Bee49 · 18/02/2024 14:35

@tryingforbaba i usually do a lot of exercise but it’s getting harder! I really struggled to do much last time but I know I got my energy back in the second trimester so trying not to be too hard on myself.
I’ve got a race in a couple of weeks but I’m definitely going to have to drop down to the shorter distance. There’s no way I’ve got a 10 miler in me!
I find I can do something in the morning but really struggle by the evening.

4LeafCloverBaby · 18/02/2024 14:53

I’m 7 weeks & I have zero energy & just feel like all I want to do is lay down. I don’t feel particularly nauseous but just icky & not right really. I feel so lazy & I know my bf is getting p’d off with me not doing anything but 🤷🏻‍♀️

ButterflySkies · 18/02/2024 15:40

Hello! Jumping over from one of the TTC pages if you don't mind! Nice to see some names that look familiar over here :)

I think I'm 4+6 today and I am exhausted! Hot off an afternoon nap!

I'm going straight in with a question... pre natal vitamins... had a rough ride with them antagonising my nausea last time and looking for something I can stomach better this time (pregnacare is a non starter for me). Have tried a new brand today now my proceive has run out and they haven't sat well at all... any suggestions would be amazing! Thanks x

Nic2908 · 18/02/2024 15:43

@MamaToDD I will be doing a private nipt I have done with both previous pregnancies. I’m a paeds nurse by background and so too much knowledge is not a good thing sometimes. I’m 7+1 and will be looking to do it again around 10 weeks xx

mrssunshinexxx · 18/02/2024 15:58

@ButterflySkies just folic acid / vitamin d here

polkadotpixie · 18/02/2024 15:58

I will be doing a private NIPT too. I had one with DS and it felt very reassuring rather than just odds from the combined test, plus I'm older now so expect a high-ish risk result from the NHS test anyway

MamaToDD · 18/02/2024 16:08

@Nic2908 @polkadotpixie good to hear others are going for it too! It’s quite expensive but I feel like now I’ve read a lot about it I’d rather do it. When you did it the last times, did you combine it with your first scan? Or had you previously had a private scan to date you and make sure you were defo over 10 weeks? I’m tempted to wait until 11 weeks just to be sure (in case my dates are out by a few days) but that is then getting quite close to the NHS scan!

PineappleBella · 18/02/2024 16:22

I’m heading for my scan in 20 minutes! Will check back on here afterwards, wish me luck 🍀

OneSunnyFox · 18/02/2024 16:43

@MamaToDD ive read about them, and I think as part of the charge (£500-£600) you get the 10 week dating scan thrown in! They won’t proceed with the tests if you aren’t 10 weeks. That’s what I read on some providers websites based in London, as I will be looking to do the NIPT test as well. So I don’t think you need to pay for a seperate scan!

Hi to everyone, I’ve been lingering in the background reading wondering if I should say hello. I’m 7+2 after being dated back a day at a scan I had at 6+5, but thought I was 6+6.

First pregnancy, very anxious! Nice to see I’m not alone. I was guilty of the digital pregnancy test at 5 weeks when my symptoms subsided. However the scan I had last week somewhat put my mind at rest, and I think has been a relief for my partner who thought I was going a bit nuts.

Sreilly3 · 18/02/2024 17:10

4 weeks and first pregnancy at 29. So worried about miscarrying. Praying everything will be OK. I have polycystic ovaries too, so it feels like a miracle at the moment...xx

shadawayo · 18/02/2024 17:40

Hello ladies!
Finally after trying for just over 2 years, we got our BFP this month!!
going by the tests I’m 6 weeks today!
i have my first apportionment on 7th March - to check for any abnormalities. Then a midwife appt on 18th for a screening?

can’t wait for my scan… no idea when it will be! xxxx loving reading your posts

p.s This will be my first!!! I’ve got a fair bit of pain and cramps, and my boobs have blown up 😂😂

polkadotpixie · 18/02/2024 17:53

@MamaToDD I had my NIPT last time at 13 weeks after receiving my NHS results which weren't as reassuring as I'd have liked. This time I plan to do it around 10-11 weeks to avoid unnecessary anxiety from my NHS test. I'm almost 40 so expecting a relatively high risk result from that and would rather already know (fingers crossed) that there's nothing to worry about

PineappleBella · 18/02/2024 18:13

Just got home from our scan, measuring a day ahead at 6 weeks 5 days. EDD 8th of October. Managed to see the heartbeat ❤️

MamaToDD · 18/02/2024 18:57

@PineappleBella congratulations, you must be delighted to have heard the heartbeat. I have the same due date (at the mo!)

@polkadotpixie - thank you! That makes complete sense, and yes I also like the idea of getting the data that bit earlier - when will you be doing yours? I’ll be doing it mid-March… seems so long away! But my nausea is making me feel a bit more reassured this time (weirdly, even though it’s awful and I can’t stomach anything other than fruit and yogurt!)

@OneSunnyFox - thank you for info! And congratulations! We’re at a very similar stage of pregnancy.

@Sreilly3 - congratulations! I have PCOS too, and endometriosis - I couldn’t believe my luck when I got pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago. Feel the same this time too. Fingers crossed, roll on second trimester when things start to feel a bit more real 🤞🏻

MamaToDD · 18/02/2024 19:07

@ButterflySkies - congratulations! I’m taking the Wild Nutrition pregnancy vitamins (plus their Omega 3) - I find them really good. Took pregnacare when I was pregnant 3 years ago, and I found the tablets a lot harder to get down (and could feel them sort of sitting heavily in the stomach which really didn’t help the nausea!)

snugasapug · 18/02/2024 19:37

hi everyone 👋🏻 BFP on Friday. I’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow. I’ve calculated my due date as October 26th. This will be my first!
