@CluelessInLondon oh and enjoy your cheese board. I'm the same, absolutely love cheese but luckily I'm not that keen on soft cheese anyway.

CluelessInLondon · 14/02/2024 15:26

@LuxeBiscuit I just hope I don't turn up and she's ignored my suggestions and bought loads of stuff I can't eat! I'm taking some extra supplies just in case, I know she's got charcuterie meats as well and I definitely can't have those... (that does upset me, I absolutely love cured meat!)

LuxeBiscuit · 14/02/2024 15:35

@CluelessInLondon that's a good idea to 'help out' by bringing some extra cheese and setting up the cheese board so you know there are safe options to eat. It's so difficult when it's too early to share. I have work drinks on Friday and I'm known for liking a G&T so I'll have to sneak and get my own drink.

CluelessInLondon · 14/02/2024 15:36

@LuxeBiscuit At least lots of places stock non-alcoholic gins now so you can pretend it's a real G&T!

@CluelessInLondon Ooooh great idea to take your own bits and bobs to 'help out'. Is it worth taking some little food labels with sticks to pop on each cheese so you don't panic that you've got them mixed up? Hope you have a lovely time though.

I'm very new to all of this and I'm finding cheese really confusing! I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night with some friends that don't know, and I've pre-ordered a margarita pizza as Google says that mozzarella is fine as long as it's cooked but I'm still worrying a little bit (there wasn't much on the menu that I could eat so hoping I've played it safe with that!)

Sunandsea13 · 14/02/2024 16:50

Anyone doing a progesterone test? Think it’s strange progesterone isn’t offered to everyone and I can’t get it. So tempted to do a blood test!

CluelessInLondon · 14/02/2024 16:57

@thislittlenugget Mozzarella is totally fine, cooked or uncooked, as it's pasteurised - most pasteurised soft cheeses are fine, you just have to steer clear of soft blue cheeses or ones that are mould ripened or have a washed rind. But you can have basically anything as long as it's cooked - so the golden rule is, if in doubt, bung it onto a pizza and enjoy. 😂
I'm telling my parents when we arrive on Friday night anyway, so once they know my mum can make sure she separates the pregnancy-friendly cheeses from the ones I can't eat!

Help?? Is this positive or not xx

How long did it take the midwife to call you? I called the GP on Monday and haven't heard back yet but I'm assuming that's normal!

Ps. Huge congratulations!

Edited

Just FYI and for other people in the same position i waited 2 and a half weeks to hear back and then i noticed an email from 'your health care team' in my junk mail that looked like spam.

Clicked on it and it was from the 'my chart' app and both my appointments were on there once i downloaded the app but I've had no other correspondence (no emails, letters, phone calls) . They also had my old address from 5 years ago on there so my appointments are really far away - tried to ring up and let them know but the receptionist didn't know how to change it.

Worth keeping an eye on your junk mail-i might have missed my booking in appointment otherwise as its on Monday.

Is anyone thinking of bringing their partners to their booking in appointments?

@Louise647393746 That looks like it could be an evap line to me as it's so thin - the Clear Blue tests are notorious for them. Definitely get yourself some pink dye tests and try with one of those tomorrow morning.

Louise647393746 · 14/02/2024 17:12

Thank you!! I took a digital one a few hours later and it said not pregnant. I’ll try again in the morning x

Vik27 · 14/02/2024 17:51

Im 5weeks + 6 and this afternoon started having cramps on both sides but more painful than they’ve previously been. Nothing unmanageable I can just definitely feel them more than usual. Is this still normal? Trying not to worry and get myself through to my scan next Friday.

I’ve had three. I’m on progesterone injections though so they were specifically to check I am absorbing it properly and that my level is high and constant. They are definitely not the norm and not necessary for most people.

Sunandsea13 · 14/02/2024 05:59

@MamaBee23 I’m feeling similar! Also book for a 7+5/8 week scan as don’t want to go at 6 weeks and it be too early. Never wanted something so much in my life so everything else just feels so unimportant! Just trying to take each day as it comes and enjoy it!

@mouldygrapes I would add a few days to the 7 weeks, that way you know you should definitely see a lot on the scan. Really hard but I want my first scan to be when I can see the baby properly so if you feel the same I would wait a little bit longer.

@4LeafCloverBaby thank you! Trying not to panic. Ordered some ugg boots for the house so I don’t slip! First baby and like you can’t tell my mum yet so panicking a lot!

Up early again! Never been a morning person so this is really new for me!

Thanks. I have to do it at a weekend so my DH can be there as he's currently working away in the week. So have booked it
for 8+1 rather than 7+1 in the hope there's a better chance of seeing something. Appreciate your advice!

Jacky86 · 14/02/2024 20:41

Hi all, can’t believe I’m joining this! It’s very early days for me. I only ovulated 2 weeks ago and got two very strong positives when I tested before af was due. Then I got the clear blue digital and it said 3+. On my previous pregnancies it always said 1-2 or 2-3 and only went to 3+ a good week after missed period. I’m baffled.

tryingforbaba · 14/02/2024 21:21

@Jacky86 you must have ovulated early!!! Congrats!!!

Thanks. I’m in shock to be honest.I’m 38 this month and was expecting it to take a while. Really hope it sticks.

Oct24 · 15/02/2024 00:16

@Sunandsea13 My progesterone levels are being monitored and I'm on additional support. I've had chemical pregnancies previously and my progesterone levels have always been low on their own.

OctBaby24 · 15/02/2024 03:55

Hello all can I join you Smile. I'm 4+2 and awake in the night with nausea that has started already. I don't remember it starting so soon in my first pregnancy, has anyone else experienced this?

JLT24 · 15/02/2024 06:03

i’m 4+3, the only symptoms I’ve had so far are waking up at 5am, twinges in abdomen/pelvis and extreme bloating! I suffered really bad bloating for years until I recently discovered I’m lactose intolerant so haven’t eaten lactose for a few months now. Now the bloating is back but worse than before 😞 is anyone else experiencing this, do you have any tips for reducing it? I can’t fit into any of my clothes, even my pj’s are too tight and uncomfortable!

I am also experiencing extreme bloating. I went through this on my third pregnancy and remember thinking I was going to be huge but it settled towards the end of the first trimester.

@OctBaby24 Hello! Congratulations! 🤗I'm 5+1 and I've had nausea from probably week 1 (but I've been through IVF so I knew from the day of transfer and was tuning into symptoms very early). I had a night the other night when I woke up feeling really sick, but weirdly mine's settled down a bit now...

@JLT24 Oh I'm with you on the bloating! I look pregnant - even though I know it's obviously not a baby bump at 5+1. It's awful isn't it! Really hope yours settles down soon. I don't really have any tips for reducing it - my understanding is it's your progesterone building up so all part of the process!

@Vik27 Hello! 😊I'm no doctor but my understanding is that cramps is all a normal part of your body stretching and getting ready. Obviously check in with your midwife to get their advice, but I know my sister-in-law is 23 weeks and at the start of her pregnancy she had a lot of cramping 😊I've had it a bit too, so fingers crossed we're both fine!
