@Lover0196 congrats! You will probably be slightly earlier than 6 wks as the CB weeks indicator is based off weeks after ovulation if that makes sense? So possibly around 4-5 wks? If you have quite long cycles/ovulate later this impacts how many weeks you are as well. The CB may be wrong though and you are further along as you say as don’t think they are 100% for everyone!

I got 3+ wks when I was 5+1 wks 😊

@Sunandsea13 domt worry it will be nice and snuggled in by now!

@cm3212definitely don’t have scan until at least 6 wks and even then sometimes you may need to get a rescan a week later to check!

Can anyone reassure? Just nearly slipped twice in the kitchen and each time my stomach jolted. Is there any risk of problems? :(

Try not to worry ❤️ someone crashed into me last week and I was so worried but as others have said, baby is well shielded and will be ok ❤️

Fullofconfusion · 13/02/2024 22:33

@CharlieBalf we are also having a surprise. I had a surprise with my first and it was an amazing feeling. I was so sure I was having a boy though and I was right. Everyone thought I knew!

MamaBee23 · 13/02/2024 22:47

Hi all, How are we getting on? I'm 5+1 and I'm struggling to believe it if I'm honest. So worried that I'm going to go to my first scan and nothing will be there despite 3 positive tests.
I've booked a private scan for 4th March when I should be 8 weeks so have everything crossed. Just wish I could enjoy it and all I feel is worry to be honest.

Ahh I totally get how you're feeling, it's such an anxious time.
I'm 4+4 and feeling ok, a bit gaggy and sense of smell has increased - I recoil at cigarette smoke on the street or anyone with strong perfume on.

I don't know when to book an early scan for. Was going to go for 7 weeks but now wondering if we should wait till 8? But then I want to do a NIPT too plus there's the NHS scan...can't work out how to time everything

Bb542 · 14/02/2024 04:51

Anyone else awake ALL night with morning sickness? 🤢 it's worse when I lay down... I literally haven't slept yet and it's nearly 5am 😞

Sunandsea13 · 14/02/2024 05:59

@MamaBee23 I’m feeling similar! Also book for a 7+5/8 week scan as don’t want to go at 6 weeks and it be too early. Never wanted something so much in my life so everything else just feels so unimportant! Just trying to take each day as it comes and enjoy it!

@mouldygrapes I would add a few days to the 7 weeks, that way you know you should definitely see a lot on the scan. Really hard but I want my first scan to be when I can see the baby properly so if you feel the same I would wait a little bit longer.

@4LeafCloverBaby thank you! Trying not to panic. Ordered some ugg boots for the house so I don’t slip! First baby and like you can’t tell my mum yet so panicking a lot!

Up early again! Never been a morning person so this is really new for me!

Sunandsea13 · 14/02/2024 06:01

@Bb542 thank you! It’s so nerve wracking isn’t it :/ You don’t realise how much you get shoved around in an city until you’re trying not to! I am getting a baby on board badge to hopefully make people be more considerate!

Sunandsea13 · 14/02/2024 06:03

@Ellenn thank you! Feeling bit better this morning, up early again but gives me time to think about the millions of things we need to do !

@SunSunandsea13 I completely know what you mean. Everytime I think about how much I want this, I feel I push it to one side as I'm so scared of something going wrong. Hoping il start to feel happier once I've had a scan.

Oct24 · 14/02/2024 09:26

So the nausea has kicked in. Hard. Had to take my 2yr old to the drs this morning. Was heaving in the waiting room and trying to hide behind the buggy. We live in a small community and everyone knows everyone. One sniff of a pregnancy and the rumours will spread like wild fire!

This pregnancy feels so different to my son. I was nauseous but nothing like this.

CluelessInLondon · 14/02/2024 09:32

@Blackberry95 That's great news that you got to see the heartbeat and everything is looking good so far! Will you have another scan in a couple of weeks' time?

@Lover0196 Welcome and congratulations! You're correct, you are 6+1 based on LMP which is how pregnancies are dated, but if you ovulated around 2 weeks into your cycle you'd have been 2 and a bit weeks post-conception when you did your test. The weeks indicators aren't an exact science anyway.

@cm3212 Definitely wait until after 6 weeks for a first scan - there's a good chance that before then you won't really be able to see much and it might just make you feel anxious. The longer you can bring yourself to leave it the more you are likely to see!

@Sunandsea13 Definitely don't worry, it's such a tiny bean right now and it's well tucked in behind your pelvic bone so it is very well protected!

@MamaBee23 Totally with you on not really believing it - I've also done 3 tests although I haven't done one for a week and have vowed not to do any more. My husband thought I was a bit nuts for doing a third one last week. 😂 The anxiety is totally understandable - I've got my first scan on Friday and I'm both looking forward to it because I'm hoping it will give me some reassurance, and dreading it because I'm afraid of getting bad news again. In my head pregnancies don't go beyond 9 weeks so I can't really visualise anything beyond that point at the moment. Hang in there and try to remind yourself that as far as you're concerned, your pregnant now and you have no reason to believe anything is wrong.

Bee49 · 14/02/2024 09:33

@Sunandsea13 the list of stuff! There’s so much we need to do to make space for a second child but I don’t want to start anything yet incase things don’t work out. It’s probably why we’re all struggling with insomnia!

Blackberry95 · 14/02/2024 09:58

@CluelessInLondon from an NHS point of view I’m just back on the normal schedule now but I have a private scan coming up too

holly12388 · 14/02/2024 13:07

Can I join please 🥰
Got BFP CB digital this morning. FEELS UNREAL!
I'm so excited, obviously a tad scared. But beyond excited.

It's so nice to have this thread with soo many going through the same things & comparing symptoms..
Looking forward to seeing some scan pictures on here soon!

polkadotpixie · 14/02/2024 13:21

Has anyone used Asda tests? I'm 4+4 and my lines are not getting any darker the last couple of days, I don't know if there's something wrong or they're just crappy tests! My Easy @ Home still seems to be getting darker but not the Asda tests

I think I'm just super worried after my MC and TTC for 3 years but this plus almost no symptoms is making me insane with worry 😭

PineappleBella · 14/02/2024 13:46

Got a phone call from the midwife this morning to book my first appointment and to give me my login for badger notes! Getting real now 🫶🏻 I’m 6 weeks today ❤️

thislittlenugget · 14/02/2024 13:52

Hellooo! We got our BFP last Friday after doing IVF! Yippeeeeee :) Due 20th October (but I'll be having an early c-section due to a genetic condition which is also why I had IVF). Hello everyone!

How long did it take the midwife to call you? I called the GP on Monday and haven't heard back yet but I'm assuming that's normal!

Ps. Huge congratulations!

Bee49 · 14/02/2024 13:55

@polkadotpixie I know it’s hard (also part of the loss and no symptoms club) but you need to step away from the tests. I think they’re probably just making you more anxious! 4+4 is still really early for symptoms, with my son they didn’t hit until just before 6 weeks and even then you might not get any. Symptoms unfortunately don’t mean much!

PineappleBella · 14/02/2024 13:58

@thislittlenugget Welcome and congratulations ❤️I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks 4 days. I self referred to the midwife at 4 weeks and I only got my first call today, so around 2 weeks ☺️ x

LuxeBiscuit · 14/02/2024 14:57

Hello - I made a carbonara for dinner yesterday (cooked the egg and cheese mix a bit first so it wasn't raw). I've just noticed the Parmesan cheese is unpasteurised. Should I be concerned about this?

Ellenn · 14/02/2024 15:04

@LuxeBiscuit all Parmesan is unpasteurised! But should be safe to eat as it’s a hard cheese so very low risk of any bacteria due to the long processing time of making it 😊

CluelessInLondon · 14/02/2024 15:12

@holly12388 @thislittlenugget Congratulations to you both!

@polkadotpixie Definitely try to stop testing, or at least reduce how frequently you test - pregnancy tests aren't meant for tracking the health of a pregnancy and it doesn't necessarily mean anything if the lines don't get darker. As PP said, 4+4 is early for symptoms so try not to overthink it.

@LuxeBiscuit Unpasteurised hard cheeses are all fine to eat in pregnancy. I'm a total cheese fiend, so it makes me happy that cheese is the first thing listed on the NHS guidance on what you can eat/need to avoid: https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/foods-to-avoid/ I'm going to my parents' this weekend, they don't know I'm pregnant yet and my mum is planning a cheese board for Saturday evening, so I have tried to subtly influence by sending some "suggestions of my favourite cheeses" which happen to all be pregnancy friendly. 😂
