Hi everyone, cautiously joining please

I'm 39 and 4+1 with DC2, EDD 19th October. We have a 5 year old DS

I tested on Monday at 9dpo and got a faint line, I've been obsessively tracking the line progression since as I had a MC at 5+3 in 2021 where my lines never got really dark

We've been TTC for 32 cycles (since April 2021) and have had no luck apart from the early MC. We'd had all the tests...bloods/HyCoSy/semen analysis etc and all were fine so we were diagnosed as unexplained infertility and were literally due to start IVF this week!

Hoping my lines are looking okay this time as I'm very anxious, I feel this is last chance saloon given my age and how long it's taken to conceive

Hi everyone.
Thanks for having me 💛
I'm 4+6 I think and due around the 16th October 2024. This is baby number 3 as my eldest children are 13 & 10 this year.
So excited to share this journey with them though.
How are we all for symptoms?
I have the worst Heartburn already which I only really suffered with towards the end with my second child. Anyone else?

spudnik1 · 11/02/2024 09:49

@ppolkadotpixie
We were in a similar situation. Had fertility treatment 18 months ago, didn't work.
Then, after I have spent all the ivf money on a big celebration cruise for my 40th this year, we find out I'm pregnant.
Can't go on the cruise, but get a baby instead!
Unfortunately, I also sold all the baby stuff 6 months ago. Which I had been clinging on to for 8 years.

LuxeBiscuit · 11/02/2024 09:58

@scottishsunshine96 apparently progesterone is a diuretic so helps to get rid of water in your body which is why you might be peeing so much. I had the same so googled it as I was a bit concerned.

LuxeBiscuit · 11/02/2024 09:59

@polkadotpixie you've had a bit of a journey! Congratulations, your lines look great.

Vik27 · 11/02/2024 10:49

I still can’t accept it’s real I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. I don’t know what will convince me it has. Did consider seeing if I could get my hcg done but it’s probably an unnecessary cost and i should just wait it out until the 7 week scan. It’s worse than the 2ww. Or does it never end until they’re in your arms? Too early for any real symptoms so that doesn’t convince me either.

CharlieBalf · 11/02/2024 12:02

@Spudnik21 and @polkadotpixie my first was ivf 😄 Felt like I couldn't relax because there was always another hoop to jump through. It was 7 years for us.
And then we had a surprise baby last year (I was 38 at the birth) and if this one works out I'll be 40 by baby's due date.

Still bery very nervous about every appointment, every scan, every blood test.

Today is the first day I've felt a bit nauseous. Could be due to the head cold I've had for the past few days but my appetite has completely gone, which is very unusual for me, lol.

I think I'm around 5+2 but will possibly find out tomorrow at the EPU a clearer idea of how far along we are.

Once I could feel the baby moving (this is #2 for me) the worry decreased significantly.

spudnik1 · 11/02/2024 13:30

@CharlieBalf I have an early scan booked for Friday. I should be 7+3 , and I think I may relax if that goes well.

IskaPiska · 11/02/2024 13:32

Hi girls, can I join please 😊. I think I'm 5+2 today and this would be DC1.
I'm 37 and my first scan will be on my 38th birthday in a couple of weeks!
We were trying for a couple of years and finally have my first ever positive test through IVF ❤️...still in total shock I think.
Look forward to helping each other get through this 💪😁x

californiacooper · 11/02/2024 15:12

I love how there are quite a few IVF or almost IVFers in here! I'm sort of similar to you @polkadotpixie, I had my IVF stim for a freeze all cycle and conceived naturally the cycle after, while I was waiting to go back to have the frozen embryos put back in (AF never arrived!) So so so lucky as IVF had such a low chance of success (we only managed 2 day 3 embryos). I'm 36, will be 37 in spring, currently 6+3 (i hope!)

Vik27 · 11/02/2024 15:15

@IskaPiska congratulations. I’m 5+3 through ivf too. There’s definitely a few of us here

73pheonix · 11/02/2024 16:34

👋 Tentatively on here at 5+3 from IVF too. Early viability on Friday 6+1. Never been so terrified andddd, spent the day with chicken pox infested toddler. 😩 had it as a child… but still panicking.

Shootystealy · 11/02/2024 16:44

Can't believe I'm five weeks now! Considering telling family from around 9 weeks at mothers day but not sure if thats too soon!

4LeafCloverBaby · 11/02/2024 18:01

I had my 6week scan today. Everything is growing properly & where it should be & I saw the heartbeat 😌 very relieved. I’m measuring 6 weeks & the little blob is 4.7mm 🥰

IskaPiska · 11/02/2024 18:19

@Vik27 thank you, and congratulations to you too, and everyone else on the thread 🙌.

Nice to have a few ivf buddies on here! Hope everyone is doing well.

IskaPiska · 11/02/2024 18:23

@4LeafCloverBaby that's great news, you must be so relieved. I'm not sure whether to book a 6 week one which would be next weekend. My clinic aren't doing mine until 28th Feb and this wait driving me mad already!

4LeafCloverBaby · 11/02/2024 18:31

@IskaPiska they do say to leave 2 weeks in between scans…I’m not sure why but might be worth looking into

IskaPiska · 11/02/2024 18:36

@4LeafCloverBaby ahh OK thanks, I didn't know that. Maybe I just need to be patient and wait and find ways to distract myself...easier said than done though lol

4LeafCloverBaby · 11/02/2024 18:43

@IskaPiska it’s all so consuming isn’t it! Lol

mouldygrapes · 11/02/2024 18:57

Cautiously joining too, 4+2. I have a nearly 3 year old.

We had an early scan last time and want to do that again, as well as a NIPT (private if
needs be) as I'm now 40. I didn't for my eldest as the standard screening came back low risk.

Absolutely dreading the nausea, I had it badly last time and think it'll be harder with a toddler in tow too. Plus my DP is working away for most of the next couple of months!

mouldygrapes · 11/02/2024 18:58

Those look like beautiful lines! Congratulations but I understand the anxiety

CharlieBalf · 11/02/2024 19:09

@4LeafCloverBaby congratulations on the little heartbeat!

Ellenn · 11/02/2024 19:16

@Shootystealy hey we are buddies I’m also 5 wks today and celebrating that I haven’t miscarried yet 🤣 only 11 days till my scan I so hope there is a heartbeat 🤞

Bee49 · 11/02/2024 19:18

@Ellenn also 5 weeks today. Nice to have due date buddies! Counting down until next Sunday. 6 weeks feels like a big achievement.
