It’s my first pregnancy (ivf) so hard to know what’s a symptom and what’s a side effect of the meds. I’m willing to feel something so I know it’s progressing well. I’ve got a viability scan in the clinic in 2 weeks (I’ll be 7 weeks +1 day) so really looking forward to that just for reassurance. Only symptoms I’ve had is bloating (could easily be the 2 lots of progesterone I’m on) and sore heavy feeling boobs. I don’t know when symptoms should start appearing or if this could be it

IVF here too and that's exactly how I feel - bloated from the pessaries and injections (especially in the evening) and heavy boobs. No other symptoms to speak of. In my last IVF pregnancy which ended in miscarriage I had all the symptoms under the sun, it was almost like everything was going too fast, so I'm taking the lack of symptoms as a good thing. Very weird though as although I've had a positive blood test, I feel like the whole thing is just a scam right now!

@Sunandsea13 If you have no idea when you ovulated & you have irregular periods then I guess you’ll have to wait for your first scan for them to give you an idea 🙂

MamaToDD · 07/02/2024 12:15

@Freddie289 - Hopefully we both get a little bit of nausea in the next week or so to ease our worries! Waking up feeling a little sick rather than full morning sickness would be ideal! So mad to be wishing for it, but I had a miscarriage in October, so I’m just desperate for any sign that little one is progressing and all is good 🙏

We will probably both be feeling totally sick in a week or so and pining for the days when we felt good!! I had it from 6-18 weeks with my little girl.

Has anyone else had an early scan and it been difficult? I had 3 within a week in my last pregnancy, which sadly ended in miscarriage, and I’m a bit haunted by the experience of those silent scans. Im desperate to go in and see my babies heartbeat - I can’t imagine anything more wonderful - but I’m so nervous after last time, part of me is tempted just to wait for my 12 week scan this time. So long to wait though!

Freddie289 · 07/02/2024 13:05

@MamaToDD sorry to hear about your previous MC 😥I hope everything goes smoothly for you ❤yes I think when I was being sick so much with 1st I felt like I could get through it because I knew it was just all the hormones, although I remember being told that baby girls produce more so it can make you have a lot more sickness
I'm so sorry to hear about the your experience with the scans, I can understand why you would never want to go through that again, 12 weeks is such a long time and I ended up caving in and booking one for when I'm around 8 weeks, waiting for that even seems an eternity but if everythings Ok I think they are good for peace of mind 🙏x

ttcchapter2 · 07/02/2024 15:25

Got my 12 week scan date today 🥹🥹 its feeling so real.

4LeafCloverBaby · 07/02/2024 15:35

@ttcchapter2 what area are you in? How did they inform you of the appointment? Just want to know what to expect 😊

ttcchapter2 · 07/02/2024 15:39

@4LeafCloverBaby I am in Scotland! Got a letter through the post this morning, I called the midwife team myself as soon as I found out I was pregnant as advised when I called the GP and they called a week later telling me when my booking appointment is and she told me then my scan letter should come in the post. But I live in quite a small town so perhaps might be a little easier here than elsewhere!

4LeafCloverBaby · 07/02/2024 15:41

@ttcchapter2 ah ok thanks for the info & congratulations 😊 I had to do a self referral form online & can only chase it if I haven’t heard anything by 10weeks!

PineappleBella · 07/02/2024 15:46

@4LeafCloverBaby I’m in Yorkshire and it says to chase if I haven’t heard by 7 weeks! I’m 5 weeks now, the waiting is agony!

4LeafCloverBaby · 07/02/2024 15:47

@PineappleBella So annoying isn’t it! Im in West Sussex.

Holl89 · 07/02/2024 15:52

I’m in Wales and self referred to midwife last week, already had a phone call today to arrange an appointment and they’re coming next week 😱

I’ve also booked a scan for 19th Feb where I’ll be 6 + 4
I had a MMC in October, I’d love to wait until I’m 8 weeks but I don’t think I can because of my history, I already feel anxious!
Just not sure whether to wait a few days later where I’m more 7 weeks 😩

nervousn3lly · 07/02/2024 15:59

I've still not heard anything from midwife's yet I'm in Essex my last pregnancy is heard bk in 3 days and first pregnancy was 7days I'm hoping to hear something soon.

@Holl89 I'm same as you I'm having a scan at 6+2 as can't bear to wait after mc if they can't see anything they usually get you back a week or 2 later and u don't pay again where I am so I figured I could get one at 8wks too xx

ShouldItho · 07/02/2024 16:34

I’ve done a self referral via badger notes online but it said I should also contact my gp to arrange a booking appointment. So I phoned the gp and the receptionist just gave me an email address for the midwife and told me to send an email with info over. I did but the email bounced back 🙄 I’m non the wiser do I wait to see if the midwife contacts me with my booking appointment date or do I try contact my gp again ? Argh

SoyaMatchaLatte · 07/02/2024 16:45

Hi guys, hope it's OK to join you. Got my BFP on Saturday, due date should be 10th October. I'm a bit nervous after a MC in September, sorry to see some of you have also had losses. Just had my booking appointment through for 5th March, so I am starting to feel a bit excited! I also have a little girl who's 3 😊

Never mind, they sent me the wrong email address 🤣

Dannie2024 · 07/02/2024 17:15

Hi ladies. Can I join you all on here?

Just got my BFP last night. It's my second child (I have a nearly 6YO DD). It'll be my partners first child.

Pic of my tests I took last night. Couldn't believe how dark the line was!

I'm 4 weeks and 2 days, according to my app, and due date of 14th October.

Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Dannie xx

OCTOBER 2024 BABIES!
PineappleBella · 07/02/2024 17:16

@Dannie2024 those look like amazing lines! Welcome and congratulations ❤️

CluelessInLondon · 07/02/2024 17:20

@SoyaMatchaLatte @Dannie2024 Congratulations and welcome to both of you. 😊

@ShouldItho Well that's helpful! 😅Hope you get your appointment sorted soon.

@CharlieBalf I've been thinking about you today, how did you get on?

Dannie2024 · 07/02/2024 17:27

How long did it take everyone to hear a date for booking in appointment? I notified my GP today who referred me to midwifes. Wondering how long till I get a letter or email from them.

MamaToDD · 07/02/2024 17:49

@Freddie289 thank you! You too! Did you end up having a girl? I did (which goes with the sickness theory!)

When will you be 8 weeks for the scan? I think I’ll become more tempted to book one in a week or so, once I get past the stage where I had my MC.

I’ll be 10 weeks Mother’s Day weekend and would absolutely love to have had a scan by then and know all is well 💜 hopefully lots of people on this group will have been able to have that reassurance by then!

Battenbergsquare · 07/02/2024 17:54

Spent 6 hours at the hospital today on the advice of 111 as thought it was all over due to bleeding. Luckily had a scan and saw the sac and yolk and all is as it should be for 5+6 - it was just a haematoma. My nerves are shot!!

Ems1992 · 07/02/2024 18:01

I registered my pregnancy online and got an appointment the same day! I am 5+4 and my first appointment is 8th March :)

Dannie2024 · 07/02/2024 18:38

@Ems1992 where did you register online? My GP only said he'd pass details on for me

Dannie2024 · 07/02/2024 18:38

@Battenbergsquare so glad everything is still okay for you!

How horrible. I hope your nerves have calmed down . Just put it behind you and try and relax. And maybe eat chocolate
