I am joining too!

Due 1st October. Second baby, we have been trying for 6 years . Had fertility treatment a few years ago which didn't work. So this was a complete surprise!

I will be 40 when this baby comes so am a bit worried about coping with sleepless nights.

So far no sickness although I didn't have morning sickness last time ( 9 years ago) boobs are absolutely killing me though. Was considering going getting a non wired bra but I am a F cup as it is . Any recommendations? Oh and I ate a full bag of raw carrots yesterday . .....

lori2019 · 05/02/2024 11:08

Hello everyone,

Still can't quite believe I'm joining this thread. Got my positive on Friday from a FET. baby no2. We had our son in 2021, he was born 11 weeks early so am really hoping this one comes much closer to their due date. We're booked for an early scan on 22nd. Not sure how I'm going to manage the nerves until then. Off to catch up on the 15 pages of this thread and get to know you lovely ladies!

pwblwc · 05/02/2024 11:19

@Spudnik21 congratulations! I've just ordered a non-wired bra from lemonade dolls (also an F cup) - will let you know if it's any good.

nervousn3lly · 05/02/2024 11:36

@Spudnik21
I'm G cup and I swear by the marks and Spencer's non wired and it's bargain at pack of 3 for £20 x

AnnieApple123 · 05/02/2024 11:40

@aussiegirl89 Mmmmm potato wedges! Now that you’ve mentioned those I think I’m going to have to go find some for lunch…

nervousn3lly · 05/02/2024 11:43

@Spudnik21 however I just looked on website and can't find them I got mine in store few
Weeks ago but maybe discontinued now I'm not sure

Spudnik21 · 05/02/2024 12:05

Oh well . Thanks for checking

Vik27 · 05/02/2024 12:21

@Spudnik21 congratulations! I’ve found exactly the same and been out bought new non wired M&S bras that are so much comfier. I’m only a B so bought my usual size but I’m sure soon enough they’ll be too small too.

MegaManicMama · 05/02/2024 13:15

Welcome and congratulations to the new members.

@tryingforbaba I've noticed sweet foods don't taste right but eating loads of calerific, salty savoury foods so my diets out the window.

Has anyone else noticed any unusual shapes/lights in their vision?

babyno4dueoct09 · 05/02/2024 13:23

Joining too, due October 9th with number 4.

ttcchapter2 · 05/02/2024 15:46

Hi everyone, feeling absolutely awful, light headed and just want to sleep all the time which is impossible with a toddler 😂🤣 hopefully we all get more energy once we reach the 12 week mark!! Totally on knicker watch too @AnnieApple123

CluelessInLondon · 05/02/2024 15:51

Lots of new BFPs! Congratulations @Spudnik21 @lori2019 @babyno4dueoct09

I decided to do my maternity referral today - still kind of feel like it's too early but waiting until my scan at the end of next week feels a bit late. How about everyone else, have you referred yet or are you waiting a bit?

4LeafCloverBaby · 05/02/2024 15:59

@CluelessInLondon I did my self referral online & they said they would be in contact in 2 weeks but possibly later if I’m not 8 wks yet. So just waiting now…

Spudnik21 · 05/02/2024 16:05

@CluelessInLondon I did my self referral on line last Monday. By last Wednesday I had an email confirming my booking in appointment for 9 weeks

Spudnik21 · 05/02/2024 16:06

Ironically I have the same due date as my other child. Its a month ..... everyone gets preggers around new year yobthere is a mad rush on mat services, might be an idea to get it booked in.

CluelessInLondon · 05/02/2024 16:07

@4LeafCloverBaby 2 weeks or maybe later...nice that they're giving you some certainty over when you can expect to hear from them!!

@Spudnik21 That's more like what I'm expecting - with my last pregnancy I referred pretty much straight away and got confirmation of my appointment booking on the same day, so I'm assuming I'll hear quite quickly. Not really looking forward to it though as the midwife who did my booking appointment last time was a complete empathy vacuum and just treated me like another bit of paperwork she had to do!

4LeafCloverBaby · 05/02/2024 16:10

@CluelessInLondon I know 🙄 I think it just depends on your area. It also says you can’t chase them until you’re 10 weeks 😂

CharlieBalf · 05/02/2024 18:36

I put my self referral in today too. Hoping to get a booking in session soon as would like to request an early scan during to multiple losses in the past.
But am seeing my GP on an unrelated issue on Friday (booked before I know about #3!) so hoping to get a script for progesterone before i see my midwife, which vpupd be three weeks or more.

@Spudnik21 haven't thought abut there being a run on mat services around this time of year but then September/October are the busiest times of year for births!

CluelessInLondon · 05/02/2024 20:16

@CharlieBalf Does your EPU/EGU take self-referrals if you've had a previous loss? Mine does and I had treatment there for my miscarriage last year so I was able to get an early scan without being under the midwifery service yet - worth giving them a call to ask as I know they are all different!

Fullofconfusion · 05/02/2024 20:35

Hi everyone,

I’m not entirely sure how far along I am as my cycles have been a bit all over the place since coming off the pill in September last year. I think according to Flo and some OPKs that I did that I’m around 4 weeks.

I wasn’t expecting to fall pregnant so quickly as last time I was trying and came off the pill I didn’t have a period for 6 months! And then took another 3 to conceive. So it’s all of a bit of a whirlwind in my brain at the moment. I haven’t told my partner yet!

CharlieBalf · 05/02/2024 21:01

@CluelessInLondon that's actually a really good shout, will call tomorrow 👍

MamatoIvyandbump · 06/02/2024 00:54

Hi ladies, I got my long awaited bfp after 11 months of ttc on 24th Jan, I’m 5 weeks 1 day now with my second baby and very excited but also absolutely terrified. I am ecstatic to be pregnant but totally forgot how scary it is! Congratulations to you all for your bfp’s xx

MamatoIvyandbump · 06/02/2024 00:55

Meant to add I’m due October 7th based on dates x

MamatoIvyandbump · 06/02/2024 00:56

I did mine today which is actually later than when I did it with my daughter, I called the doctors as soon as I got my bfp last time 😂x

tryingforbaba · 06/02/2024 05:55

@MegaManicMama yes!!! When I stand up and go light headed I see full on kaleidoscopes and my legs go all wobbly. Takes me back to my rave days 🤪😂
