Due October 3 (ish) had my bfp yesterday but clear blue says 1-2 weeks where my conception date and lmp puts me about 5 weeks. Not many symptoms apart from no period and nausea plus I guess extreme anxiety. 4th child and am so nervous about how everything is going ♥️

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2024 19:19

Welcome @tryingtodobetter93 and @bubblespopping

@4LeafCloverBaby Glad it’s not just me with the lightheadedness. I had it in my last pregnancy too but I’m sure not as early as this. I’m needing to lean on something on standing up.

Bee49 · 03/02/2024 20:11

Congratulations to everyone that’s just joined!

There’s a lovely WhatsApp group on the go. The link is a few pages back so thought I’d share it here again.

Hi I’m following along too. I had ivf and had my first bfp at 5dp5dt (10dpo) that have been getting stronger ever since. My due date is estimated 10th October. Haven’t had any symptoms yet which worries me but this will be my first so it’s not like I’ve got anything to go off.

tryingforbaba · 04/02/2024 07:14

Oh god yes I'm getting the light headed feeling when I stand up too. I actually saw kaleidoscope pattens in my eyes yesterday and my legs wobbled- it was an intense few seconds lol

Still got 2 weeks til docs. So eager to get the thumbs up

Welcome @Vik27 . I’m pregnant with a genetically screened embryo after losing a little boy to a rare condition last year.

@tryingforbaba I had a moment a bit like that too yesterday where it felt like the whole room started to swim.

I don’t think I’m ready for a WhatsApp group yet but may join later.

CluelessInLondon · 04/02/2024 08:25

@Ekster86 I've had back ache on and off for about a week and a half - with hindsight it was probably the first sign of pregnancy for me. Seems to have eased off in the last couple of days though, which is a relief for work - not easy to have lower back pain and sit at a desk all day!

Welcome and congratulations @tryingtodobetter93 @bubblespopping @Vik27 😊

aussiegirl89 · 04/02/2024 08:29

Hey @Vik27 I'm an IVF gal too. My 5dt was on 15th Jan and I got a BFP at 8dpo. My due date is October 3rd.

I've had some cramping and twinges which make me very nervous.

Feeling light headed and just generally 'off'.

Is it weird that I want the nausea to start so I can feel more secure in the pregnancy?!

AnnieApple123 · 04/02/2024 08:49

@aussiegirl89 My transfer was the day after yours on the 16th (it would have been the 15th too but it was a holiday that day - Martin Luther-King Day - in America). It’s hard to believe it was less than 3 weeks ago.

CharlieBalf · 04/02/2024 08:51

Hi everyone,

Been following for a few days, I'm very nervous about 'announcing ' this early but would be really good to talk to other mums in the same position!

I'm around 5 weeks with #3. #1 was ivf (@aussiegirl89 same transfer and due date as you! DS arrived on his due date and is a healthy 3 Yr old now)
#2 Was a surprise natural pregnancy with DD now nearly 1 and now another surprise 😮.

We had 3 losses before #1, 7 years of trying and 4X rounds of fertility treatments before going for ivf so I'm very very sceptical about conceiving naturally.

Have a very positive clear blue around two days after my missed period.
Will try to push for an early scan but until then just trying to stop my head from getting carried away.

So far symptoms are pretty scarce, bit of back pain, dizziness and tiredness.

Oh, and I'll be 40 by the time baba is born if we get that far 😊🙏

Vik27 · 04/02/2024 09:11

@aussiegirl89 yes I know what you mean I just want some symptoms and that might stop me from worrying. I had some spotting yesterday which I was panicking over but I’m hoping it’s been from the progesterone suppositories and nothing else.

aussiegirl89 · 04/02/2024 09:17

@AnnieApple123 tell me about it! It feels like an eternity ago, time is moving so slowly right now!

@CharlieBalf welcome!

So lovely to hear you have to kids already - the irony of conceiving naturally after years of fertility treatment must feel very ironic but so fantastic xxx

I had a miscarriage and ectopic in our 3 years of trying. Very nervous for this one to stick - I know this sounds weird but I have this doubt that my body can do it.

I've been really down today, crying and upset for no reason. Hormones I guess + anxiety.

How are you all dealing with worry and anxiety. Can you switch off easily?

CharlieBalf · 04/02/2024 09:44

@aussiegirl89 the anxiety does not switch off 🤣😭 Distractions help for a bit but this first few weeks is pretty much just a bunch of thinking about the what ifs for 3 weeks straight.

I had the same exact doubts with DS. I just couldn't believe my body was capable, especially after have 3 miscarriages in a row. I thought babies was something that happened to other people. It's so natural yo have worries. And to cry! Hormones are doing somersaults so you'll be up and down a bit 😊

Honestly, the pregnancy with DD was so nerve-wracking. It was actually very smooth but I felt anxious the entire time.

You'll be fine. Lots of deep breathing, happy feel good sitcoms and naps. X

aussiegirl89 · 04/02/2024 09:50

@CharlieBalf you've literally summed up how I feel 'like babies are what happen to other people'

Thank you for sharing how you've felt, it's comforting to know it's not just me.

Scan is booked for the 15th. I have a hen do next weekend and I'm a bit nervous to be around all the drinking and watching eyes. My friends know we've been doing IVF but I've said I'm not talking about it as I don't want questions.

Any tips for how to navigate hen does while in the first trimester?!

AnnieApple123 · 04/02/2024 10:21

Welcome @CharlieBalf

Seems like lots of us here have had difficult journeys in one way or another. It’s good to know we’re not alone.

I feel like the nervousness is probably inevitable at this point? I’m terrified every time I go the loo that I’m going to see blood and am on constant knicker watch. I’m also sometimes convinced I can feel things which worry me.

CharlieBalf · 04/02/2024 10:39

@AnnieApple123 oh lordy the knicker watch 🙈 I used to wear a panty liner jic up until 22 weeks. I'll probably do the da.e this time 😊

@aussiegirl89 the good thing is if they know you're doing ivf then not drinking won't trigger unwanted questions. Ny the time they're all 3 drinks in they won't be watching you anyway! I'd just try and swing the conversation to the wedding, how rubbish husbands are and how amazing the Hen looks, people can't help but agree and so keeps attention off you.
Good for you for going! My knee-jerk reaction is to sack off all social outings!

CluelessInLondon · 04/02/2024 12:55

@AnnieApple123 With you on knicker watch - I daren't not wear a pantyliner this time, I didn't even think about it last time but I'm just convinced I'm going to bleed at some point. It's really hard not having the innocence of first time round, but maybe the caution is good in a way - I'm not assuming anything right now.

Battenbergsquare · 04/02/2024 14:54

I’m currently 5+3 and found out last week. 5 years of trying and a PCOS diagnosis, we started fertility treatment at the beginning of January and only had our initial appt but it seems the stars had already aligned by that point. Can’t believe our luck and particularly anxious but just pleased to have got this far

AnnieApple123 · 04/02/2024 15:25

Welcome @Battenbergsquare (I love Battenberg cake and used to make it quite often!). It’s lovely to hear everyone’s stories.

4LeafCloverBaby · 04/02/2024 15:34

@Battenbergsquare wow how amazing! Lovely story. Welcome to the thread x

Nervynewmum · 05/02/2024 06:00

Hi everyone, hoping to join in too. My DH and I have been trying for 2+ years and actually had our consultation following investigations booked in at a fertility clinic on 26/1, that same morning I got BFP! We are equal parts excited and terrified and keeping everything crossed it sticks. Due somewhere between 2nd-8th October (cycles are irregular). I didn’t know you could pay privately for an early scan so this board has already hugely helped as will definitely be doing that as so nervous.

tryingforbaba · 05/02/2024 09:21

Is anyone else struggling to eat anything other than plain carbs?!

I know I need to eat all the healthy foods but all I can stomach is plain rice cakes and butter ...

CluelessInLondon · 05/02/2024 09:23

@Battenbergsquare @Nervynewmum Congratulations to both of you!

KestrelW · 05/02/2024 09:52

@tryingforbaba yes! The past few days my diet has mostly consisted of toast with butter and ritz crackers. Feeling so nauseous 🤢

aussiegirl89 · 05/02/2024 10:52

Yep I'm craving potato wedges!
