I’ve just had my 3+ on clear blue. Right on time. That is giving me reassurance but I said I wouldn’t test anymore once I got that. My early scan at EPU is at 8+4 which I think is quite late. Do you think I should do one privately at 6+4? Although im so traumatised about private scans I’m not so sure. When I found out at 16 weeks there was no heartbeat it was private at window to the womb, they had huge tvs on every wall that were all turned on. I was literally surrounded by my dead baby.

That's great you got the 3+. I took the test yesterday at exactly 5 weeks and it was 2-3 weeks. Couldn't sleep last night with worry. I'm going to try and wait a week and test at 6 weeks.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I know my friend said they couldn't see much at 6 weeks so perhaps worth waiting until 7 weeks if you can? Wishing you all the best.

Nic2908 · 03/02/2024 10:21

@RobynC28 if it makes you feel better I took the test 3 weeks and one day then it would be over three weeks if that makes any sense. Is it safe to have ultra sounds so close together? How frequent can you have them? Honestly pregnancy sends you crazy at the best of times let alone after a loss.

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2024 10:51

@RobynC28 I’ve heard of a lot of women having panics like that over the weekly indicator tests. For me it was the opposite that I was worried I got a 3+ too early and that it was going to turn out to be a molar pregnancy. I’m steering clear of those tests this time!

PineappleBella · 03/02/2024 10:56

The digitals I find are inaccurate with weak indicators and have been wrong for all of my pregnancies. I think they’re great to have the word pregnant in writing but I also think that retesting with them caused me more problems! I actually never got 3+ with my daughter! & with one of my boys I got 2-3 at 9 weeks 🤯 try not to overthink it, I know it’s easier said than done ❤️

Daisylou24 · 03/02/2024 11:01

I agree those test can cause more stress than they are worth.
With my youngest daughter I didn’t get a 3+ at all. I also had to attend hospital at 5 weeks for a ?ectopic and their urine pregnancy test came back negative. I honestly thought I was going mad!! She’s now a very healthy 12 year old

Just putting this out there while we’re on the subject about The Hook Effect:

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/the-hook-effect#what-is-it

If anyone tests much later on and gets a fainter line (or even a negative), don’t be alarmed. Pregnancy tests can’t generally handle extremely high HCG levels and are no longer accurate by that point.

The hook effect in pregnancy

The hook effect in pregnancy is a false-negative result. It is a phenomenon that can occur in both blood and urine pregnancy tests. Read more here.

Hi just confirmed BFP today morning. 12dpo! Looks like going to be due this year October. Still need to go hospital to register pregnancy. This is baby #3 for us hopefully! ❤️

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2024 12:21

Welcome @zysparrow

zysparrow · 03/02/2024 12:31

Thank you @AnnieApple123! 😊

hermionelodge · 03/02/2024 13:15

I'm driving myself insane symptom spotting! I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and my nausea has disappeared, I had it quite bad at the beginning of the week..yesterday my boobs were painful but today I really need to give them a squeeze to feel the tenderness. I have read people saying their symptoms come and go but its so hard not to think the worst.

I keep trying to tell myself whatever happens will happen, there's nothing I can do to change the outcome if something bad is happening so I just need to relax and ride it out. But its so much easier said than done!

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2024 13:32

@hermionelodge All my pregnancies have been a bit like that actually (this is the third). I had a lot of symptoms around the time of initially testing but then they all stopped. With my first I had very few symptoms after that the entire pregnancy.

lunitunes · 03/02/2024 15:08

Had my BFP this morning. After 2 years of trying for our first. So ridiculously happy, but also terrified. Not sure how my anxiety is going to keep until 12 weeks

RobynC28 · 03/02/2024 15:14

@Nic2908 ah maybe i should have waited another day then! I'm sorry I'm not sure about having scans close together - maybe you could call the private clinic to ask?
@AnnieApple123 @PineappleBella and @Daisylou24 thanks so much for sharing your experience - that makes me feel so much better. It's lovely being part of the this group as I've not told any friends yet and DH is abroad with work so I've not got any else to speak about this. ❤️

CluelessInLondon · 03/02/2024 15:46

@zysparrow @lunitunes Welcome and congratulations to both of you!

Just jumping in on the discussion re: digital tests, I have a couple and haven't taken one yet, I've only used pink dye tests. Even though I know the weeks indicator isn't able to be that accurate, I never got past 2-3 weeks in my last pregnancy so I think it's a bit ingrained in my head now that it was a bad sign. So I haven't decided whether to do one or just leave it alone and not give myself the stress (although they are really expensive so I feel like I ought to use them 😅).

Anybody else really tired at the moment? I was dozing off on the sofa around 9pm last night, went to bed and got around 10 hours sleep, but have just been lying on the sofa reading and starting to feel really sleepy again! When I'm up and about I feel fine, but as soon as I sit down for a bit I feel like I could fall asleep within a few minutes.

zysparrow · 03/02/2024 15:49

Thank you so much! @CluelessInLondon

I am super tired been yawning for ages lol. But I remember being a lot more tired than this in my previous pregnancies where I couldn't shake off a nap. Maybe I'm used to the lack of sleep now haha.

Nic2908 · 03/02/2024 16:06

@CluelessInLondon in exhausted. I feel like I could take a four hour nap every afternoon but with a 3 year old it just can’t happen. I’m going out tonight but to be honest I really don’t want to go, I want to get in bed a sleep. So I’m only going for an hour

4LeafCloverBaby · 03/02/2024 17:20

@CluelessInLondon I’m 5+3 today & it’s the first day I’ve felt really bad. Not nauseous just no energy & every time I get up to do something I feel wobbly 🥴

Ekster86 · 03/02/2024 17:36

I’m 5+6 today and my only symptom is a very strange fairly persistent mild back ache. Is anyone else feeling this at all? It is so weird as I never get back ache usually!

tryingforbaba · 03/02/2024 17:45

Hey guys...

Ughhh feeling shit today. Waves of nausea and generally so fatigued. Just want to lie down !!

I'm 5+5!!! X

Daisylou24 · 03/02/2024 18:00

My lower back aches and my breasts are so tender.
I still don’t believe it’s real and keep thinking I’m going to start my period.
