@Blackberry95 Welcome and I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic, that must have been really scary. Congratulations on the new BFP though, and fingers crossed this is a sticky one for you! When will you have your early scan?

@MegaManicMama That's good that you're getting the bloods and that's all showing okay, hopefully that gives you some reassurance. Good that you only have to wait a week for a scan!

@Daisylou24 Welcome and congratulations on your surprise baby!

I went out with a load of friends for dinner last night and had to try and hide the fact that I wasn't drinking - not very easy as I love wine! I took really tiny sips during dinner and kept swapping glasses with my husband so it looked like I was drinking mine. No idea if anybody noticed. 😂

How is everyone doing today?

Nic2908 · 02/02/2024 09:17

@MegaManicMama thats a nice little reassurance for you isn’t it. Still nothing will beat that scan for you!!

@Daisylou24 congratulation and welcome.

Blackberry95 · 02/02/2024 09:34

@MegaManicMama i haven’t been offered bloods by EPU re my previous ectopic, just a scan at 6 weeks- did you have to ask for bloods?
maybe it’s because my hcg was high with ectopic… it was over 15,500 when I ruptured at 6 weeks

@CluelessInLondon my scan with EPAU is at 6 weeks 1 day (next Monday) but I have a 5 week private scan this weekend too. Totally aware unlikely to see much but if I see a little sac in the uterus, I’m hoping it will calm me a bit as my head is a bit of a mess x

PineappleBella · 02/02/2024 10:12

My back is aching so much today! I had this last time and was hoping for it not to happen again. It continued all the way through my pregnancies too, anybody else with a niggling back? I wondered if I had any due date sisters? 10th of October for me!

Shootystealy · 02/02/2024 10:44

@PineappleBella 12th Oct for me! Struggling with lower back too. This is my first so nothing to compare to, but glad I'm not alone!

I think it's just standard at my EPU. I've had another pregnancy after my ectopic which ended in MC and they did the same for that pregnancy. They monitor HCG while it's to early to monitor with scans then confirm with a scan when far enough along.

Blackberry95 · 02/02/2024 11:06

@MegaManicMama ah I see, good luck to you! I’m finding this process really scary x

MegaManicMama · 02/02/2024 11:13

@Blackberry95 Good luck to you too. Pregnancy cam be so nerve wracking especially after a loss. I'm just hyper aware of potential risks and statistics. It's all too real.

I just try to take it day by day.

Aug998 · 02/02/2024 11:28

Hi all - what have you been advised is the appropriate doubling time for hcg? Is it 48 hours or 72? So many conflicting things and even the EPU could not give me a straight answer!

Ilovebees · 02/02/2024 12:52

@Aug998 I belive it’s 48-72 , everyone is different , some may double at 48 hours and some at 60 so it’s all normal xxx

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2024 13:48

@Aug998 My clinic look for at least a 66% increase over 48 hours. If it’s any consolation for those not having HCG bloods, I find waiting for the results incredibly stressful.

Aug998 · 02/02/2024 13:54

@AnnieApple123 Its incredibly stressful indeed and I've only done two, one week apart from each other. Looking like my doubling time is 80% rise every 48 hours so hopefully it's looking good. Hope your bloods have been ok too?

AppleTree16 · 02/02/2024 15:34

Tentatively joining this thread. Got a faint but definite BFP this morning. Due date circa 13-17th October based on last period and cycle length. Still feels very early to be telling anyone except my husband so need to talk to someone!

PineappleBella · 02/02/2024 16:21

@AppleTree16 Welcome! Congratulations! ❤️

@AppleTree16 welcome to the thread!! Congratulations

Congratulations @AppleTree16

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2024 17:35

Welcome @AppleTree16 . I know what you mean about it being nice to talk to somebody.

@Aug998 I was literally shaking the other day when I called for the results. I then practically started crying when I heard they were ok. Are you still doing them? I have another set due Monday even though I’ll be 5+4 by that point.

CluelessInLondon · 02/02/2024 17:52

@AppleTree16 Welcome and congratulations! Hope you are feeling okay so far.

Aug998 · 02/02/2024 17:58

@AnnieApple123 I was the same. I was a nervous wreck waiting for the email. I can't put myself through that again to be honest so I decided last minute to have a scan at 5 + 2/3 days (wednesday). They saw two gestational sacs and one with a faint yolk sac. Now I've just got the long wait until next friday for my next scan when hopefully there should be a viable pregnancy(or two!)

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2024 18:05

@Aug998 Oh goodness, possible twins! Would you be pleased? This is the first pregnancy for me where I actually would be OK with twins. They’d be identical as there was only one embryo, so it would have to have split.

Aug998 · 02/02/2024 18:10

@AnnieMac89 I would be absolutely be delighted with twins. I've no living children, I'm 37 and I have had a couple of early losses already so twins would be the dream. But to be honest, one healthy baby would be absolutely amazing too so I'm hoping and praying I just hear some form of good news! When are you thinking of having a scan?

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2024 19:48

@Aug998 Awww, everything crossed for you. I was really nervous of twins for a first and how I’d manage but I think I’d be OK now. My story is that my second baby died from a very rare condition, so this pregnancy is with a genetically tested embryo. The stakes feel very high. I’m with a US clinic and they say they’ll advise me when to have the first scan based on how my HCG levels are rising.

Nic2908 · 02/02/2024 22:32

@Aug998 woohoo possibility of twins!! How bloody exciting!!

AppleTree16 · 03/02/2024 07:48

Thanks all. Had another positive this morning on a cheap test that was stronger than yesterday, so going to head out later got a CB/Boots early one for double confirmation. Hope this little one sticks 🙏🏻🙏🏻
