We’re hoping to book one for exactly 7 weeks and then potentially another one at 10 weeks just before Mother’s Day! I’m still cramping on one side more than the other but the EPU said it can be normal and my friends cousin is a midwife and she said it’s normal too so I’m trying to think positively. Really hoping it calms down though. Is anyone else struggling with insomnia? I got about 5 hours last night and it’s not helping with the worries 🙈

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 11:26

@CluelessInLondon Very tired! I have always slept from the moment my head hits the pillow through to the next morning & the last few nights have been awful! Struggle to get to sleep & then waking up at 3.30 & then every hours after & struggling to get back to sleep every time. Maybe it’s my body preparing me for what’s to come 🙈🤣 It’s very frustrating! Oh & I have pregnancy diarrhoea to top it off! Lol. How are you feeling?

CluelessInLondon · 01/02/2024 11:30

@4LeafCloverBaby Oh no, that's so annoying - both the insomnia and the diarrhoea! Hopefully you get to settle into a bit more of a rhythm soon and you can get some more sleep. Is this your first pregnancy?

I'm alright at the moment, feeling nauseous on and off but not really bad, and having occasional cramping/heaviness but fortunately nothing painful. It's that weird situation of feeling nervous that I haven't got many symptoms yet but also not wanting to feel really ill so thinking I should be glad that I don't - and also reminding myself I'm only 5+1 and there's plenty of time fo things to change!

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 12:26

@CluelessInLondon thank you & yes it’s my first what about you? I’m also 5+1 😊

CluelessInLondon · 01/02/2024 12:27

@4LeafCloverBaby Second pregnancy for me but would be first baby, my first one ended in a loss last September. So feeling very very cautious at the moment!

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 13:53

@CluelessInLondon its so hard not to get carried away isn’t it…I have to keep reminding myself that I’m 37 & very early pregnancy 🙈

CluelessInLondon · 01/02/2024 14:03

@4LeafCloverBaby Snap, I'm 37 too - took a very long time to get to the point of deciding to have a baby and then a bit of a difficult journey since then. I can at least be reassured that I can definitely get pregnant but am a bit less confident about staying pregnant!

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 14:25

@CluelessInLondon scary time but try to enjoy it & I wish you all the luck for this pregnancy 🤞🏼🍀

ttcchapter2 · 01/02/2024 15:34

@4LeafCloverBaby i have really bad constipation and the exact same as you with the sleep. Its maddening!

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 15:35

@ttcchapter2 im hoping this is a first trimester thing & it will pass! 🤞🏼😂

PineappleBella · 01/02/2024 15:38

Just gone to book the early scan and I couldn’t believe how much they charge for it, locally to me it’s around £90-200 for a 20 minute appointment for a scan between 6-10 weeks!

nervousn3lly · 01/02/2024 15:44

Mines £75 with my first it was £60 2 years ago with same company

Nic2908 · 01/02/2024 15:56

I’m having a scan as will be under the rainbow clinics following our loss at 16 weeks. I will be 8+4 when I have my early scan. It seems so long to wait!

I'm really struggling with insomnia too 😴 just can't seem to stay asleep 😰

That is insane!!!

Where I am, cheapest is £55 and that's from 8 weeks.

hermionelodge · 01/02/2024 16:11

Does anyone else feel like the days are just dragging as well. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty to do. I work full time, have a dd and a dog, but these past 4 days since getting my BFP have honestly felt like 4 weeks. I don't know how I'm going to cope over tje next 7/8 weeks haha!

ttcchapter2 · 01/02/2024 16:27

Sorry me again guys 😭😭 is anyone noticed their csection scar is stretching a bit?? Like its more noticeable

ttcchapter2 · 01/02/2024 16:30

@hermionelodge i feel the exact same also wanting to wait to tell people but dying to tell them at the same time!

hermionelodge · 01/02/2024 17:11

@ttttcchapter2 it's so frustrating haha!

In regards to c section scar, I still have a massive pouch hanging over mine so never really know what's going on with it! Gonna ask them just to cut some of the fat out of it this time whilst they are there haha!

4LeafCloverBaby · 01/02/2024 17:28

@PineappleBella have a look on window to the womb…they are all over the country & charge £65

Blackberry95 · 01/02/2024 17:49

Hello everyone,
hope you don’t mind if I join :)
I am due on 7th October and had my BFP last Friday.
this will hopefully be my first baby, I had a ruptured ectopic in a November so I am currently absolutely terrified as there were no warning signs until I suddenly ruptured at 6 weeks
I have an early scan booked, mainly just to check baby is in the right place and the days are passing so so slowly waiting for it. Feels like I’m not allowed to be happy or excited yet x

AnnieApple123 · 01/02/2024 19:01

Welcome @Blackberry95 . That sounds terrifying.

My clinic want me to do a fourth HCG test on Monday. They cost £106 a time. And I thought Clearblue were bad!

MegaManicMama · 02/02/2024 07:15

Sorry I haven't been very active, think I've been distancing myself from everything as a coping mechanism.
The insomnia is real and the price of private scans is ridiculous!
I am under local EPU because of my previous ectopic, had my repeat HCG bloods yesterday and they doubled so I'm relaxing slightly for now at least. They are going to scan in a week and my HCG should be high enough to see something by then, all being well 🤞.
Wishing everyone all the luck for healthy pregnancies 🍀

Daisylou24 · 02/02/2024 08:03

Hi, please can I join this thread. I’ve not really believed I could be pregnant but I got my BFP on a digital test yesterday. This is very much a surprise baby, I’m 41 with two secondary school age girls so definitely thought our baby days were over.
I’m feeling scared and anxious but also excited and really want this to be a healthy pregnancy.
Congratulations to everyone on this thread

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2024 09:11

That must have been a big relief to have got doubling HCG @MegaManicMama . My doctor was just telling me that 8 out of 9 ectopic pregnancies don’t show doubling in 72 hours so that massively reduces the risk for you.

Welcome @Daisylou24 . I’m the same age as you, although my oldest is only just coming up for four.
