@HRP1990 we really donโ€™t mind what gender, but at the moment my gut feeling is boy & my OH thinks girl, so we shall see!

Does anyone else have a list of potential names picked out already?! Weโ€™ve been planning this bean for a very long time so itโ€™s something weโ€™ve tentatively discussed for ages!

Xur · 20/01/2024 14:00

@SC126 I am always burping when I get a nausea attack. The burp takes the sickness away for a minute or two haha

Do you know thereโ€™s this test you can do from as early as 6 weeks and it says your baby gender with 99% accuracy? Itโ€™s like a covid antibody test, they send you a kit, you provide with some blood, send it away and get results online.

We are the same having planned this for such a long time we have a list of names ready.,,. But almost too scared to talk about it yet!

herestohoping1 · 20/01/2024 14:09

Hi everyone! I got my positive on Monday clear blue digital but I've been doing boots cheap strips since and they're not very strong ๐Ÿ˜ซ going to buy another digital to do tomorrow but super nervous!
This will be babe number 3! Have two little boys already!
How is everyone doing?

Bakerbean · 20/01/2024 14:10

@Xur Iโ€™ve seen that kit being advertised all over my social media accounts! ๐Ÿ˜… I donโ€™t understand how on earth itโ€™s possible?! I donโ€™t think I could trust it personally!

Bakerbean · 20/01/2024 14:12

@rupertbear91 I know exactly what you mean. Hopefully that can be a topic we can all enjoy discussing in months to come ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

siobhanmt247 · 20/01/2024 14:22

@herestohoping1 congrats. I don't think some of the cheaper tests show very strong lines x

Xur · 20/01/2024 14:46

@Bakerbeanapparently how it works is they take the blood and look at the chromosomes in the blood. If in your blood thereโ€™s a presence of male chromosomes, then it must be a boy. If youโ€™re not growing a boy then there shouldnโ€™t be any male chromosomes in your blood.

Bakerbean · 20/01/2024 14:53

@Xur wow, thatโ€™s crazy! Are you tempted to do it?

Xur · 20/01/2024 15:36

@Bakerbean yeah I have another scan tomorrow and if all is well in that one Iโ€™ll order one after holiday. You?

MudandMoet · 20/01/2024 16:16

@HRP1990 your tool suggests a boy for me, I hope it's right! There's a teeny tiny part of me would like a girl (I blame Pinterest and baby clothes searches!) but ultimately a little boy would be perfect for us.

@Bakerbean yes we've discussed names already (did for the last few MC's so all in place already) if I have a boy he will be named after DH anyway as he's the 4th generation (so baby will be 5th) and it's fits with the business etc, plus I don't mind it else it would be a firm no ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Xur there has to be something in that as with the NIPT tests at 10 weeks they tell you gender. We're tempted.

HRP1990 · 20/01/2024 16:16

@Xur is it abit like the harmony test? Iโ€™m sure thatโ€™s a blood test to determine the gender too.

HRP1990 · 20/01/2024 16:18

@MudandMoet aww fingers crossed for you! But even if not..shopping for girls clothes is the best!

MudandMoet · 20/01/2024 16:45

@HRP1990 ahhh the idea of going on a spree with DH and then my bestie for baby clothes is something that really really excites me, to get to that point would be absolutely amazing.

Does everyone kind of wait until a certain point to start buying, say like 12/16 weeks or something?

Xur · 20/01/2024 16:52

My partner already pulled me in the empty room last week (we have an empty room in both houses that are designated for kids but are empty atm) and told me how he imagines the room, which furniture where etc. haha
@HRP1990 I am sorry I do not know what a harmony test is Iโ€™m afraid

Popsicales · 20/01/2024 17:19

Hi! Am I ok to join? 3+6 with my third. My other children are 6 and 5. I got my positive test at 8dpo and driving myself insane with testing! Iโ€™ve also had waves of nausea and heaving, which is incredibly early. I had severe sickness with my first but it only started at 5 weeks. Has anyone else started with nausea so early?

plinkyblonk · 20/01/2024 17:59

@Xur this is my 2nd but I've completely forgot when all my pregnancy symptoms appeared; so im a bit anxious that although i have some they arent strong I'm tempted to get an early scan and I got a 7vweek one woth my DD which helped with the nerves with waiting for the 12 week one.

ForeverHopeful67 · 20/01/2024 18:42

@Bakerbean - pregnancy the best reason In the world for feel so shite ๐Ÿคฃ!
Yeah going by my last period I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow! But I have PCOS so I think I ovulated a bit later, I think I'm actually around 7+4...
I've debated an early scan so many times the wait is torturous!!

@HRP1990 I was thinking the exact same.. " if I have another girl that will work perfectly because I've saved so many clothes".. except my daughter was born in March so that won't add up at all ๐Ÿ™ˆ ah well another excuse for shopping!!

For those that have already had children, I'm wondering whether we'll start to show any earlier this time round??

HRP1990 · 20/01/2024 19:08

@ForeverHopeful67 my DC was born in March too! Iโ€™m thinking the newborn sleepsuits/vests we already have should be okay for the first few months but thatโ€™s it ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Bakerbean · 20/01/2024 19:25

@Xur thatโ€™s so exciting, will definitely keep a close eye on the thread to see if you do decide to do the test! I think we would wait to get the classic gender scan via the NHS - but, thatโ€™s an awful long way away yet and I could easily get impatient ๐Ÿ˜…

MrsB2019x · 20/01/2024 19:29

After saying earlier I have barely been cramping, I have been cramping alllllllll afternoon ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

With DD we paid for a sexing scan at 16 weeks but I donโ€™t think we could afford to do that this time ๐Ÿ˜

Butterfly2000 · 20/01/2024 19:59

Hi all! Glad I found this thread. I'm just over 4 weeks, due around 24th Sept. Having cramping, and a bit of nausea.
I thought the tww was stressful but the anxiety continues lol! How are you all getting on?

MrsM89 · 20/01/2024 20:09

We didn't find out gender with either of ours and won't be this time. I love the not knowing till he/she is born. Xx

tierneytarny · 20/01/2024 20:53

@Popsicales Iโ€™ve had a few episodes of heaving. Iโ€™m 4-5 weeks.

Iโ€™m also exhausted.

baby number 3 and itโ€™s kicking my bum!

CMMumof2 · 20/01/2024 22:45

Hi, I'm tentatively joining if that's okay think i am around 5weeks. I did a cheapie test last weekend which was positive, the day my period was due, but it did expire in 2022 so I'm not 100% although I've never really had a late period before when I haven't been pregnant. I had a MMC before my first baby and a chemical last year so I'm definitely cautious in these early days. Exciting to read everyone's stories. Absolutely zero symptoms over here though but both my previous pregnancies I wouldn't have known I was pregnant if it wasn't for the bump
