I actually managed to sleep all night last night. Canโ€™t remember the last time I wasnโ€™t up at least 2/3 times in the night. I feel like a new woman today!!

HolyMoly24 · 29/01/2024 11:22

@Xur yes in my last pregnancy the midwife came to my house a few times. She even did a cervical sweep on my bed towards the end...incredibly awkward!

This seems to be the norm in my area due to no room being consistently available in the surgery etc

HolyMoly24 · 29/01/2024 11:23

@Fawklight oh wow so happy for you ๐Ÿฅน perfect little wriggler!

Xur · 29/01/2024 11:27

@Fawklight awww look at that!! The sailor is sailing!!โš“๏ธ amazing news!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Xur · 29/01/2024 11:28

@HolyMoly24 that is so weird ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿฅด I guess Iโ€™ll make sure to offer her a house tour and a garden tour of my roses ๐Ÿ˜‚

rupertbear91 · 29/01/2024 11:45

That's interesting @Xur I hope they don't come to mine anytime soon unless they like being liked to death by 3 dogs ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Fawklight that is such a great scan picture

I have had my old girl 12 1/2 years now and she has never laid on my belly before last night.... I'm really hoping it's a good sign and she can hear a heart beat ๐Ÿคž

Khanga27 · 29/01/2024 12:01

Lovely scan @Fawklight congratulations.

i just wondered, has anyone else had really bad acid reflux with their nausea that has been giving them a cough? I panicked as I coughed up a little yellow mucus which made me panic that I had an infection so I have booked in with nurse practitioner at surgery to be safe, but my temperature is fine and since have coughed up clear. But it definitely feels like itโ€™s acid irritating my throat, and Iโ€™ve had bad nausea where Iโ€™ve felt like Iโ€™ll be sick but not quite.

Xur · 29/01/2024 12:26

@rupertbear91 ๐Ÿฅฐ awww
two weeks ago when we went to a place in the mountains there was a cafe in the mountains which we attended and they had two dogs that were roaming free outside, the dogs just belonged to the resort. One of them was a sausage dog, the other one was a collie. The collie came up to me (I didnโ€™t see the collie coming up to any other people and there were loads of people) and smelled my not exactly my crotch but like the abdomen, between the crotch and under the puffer jacket line. I thought the dog pregnancy checked me๐Ÿ˜‚ they know

@Khanga27 yeah acid reflux and nausea are friendly sadly. Sometimes acid reflux causes nausea, sometimes nausea causes acid reflux, thatโ€™s a thing outside of pregnancy aswell. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Hi fellow September babies!

We had an ultrasound yesterday (LMP was at the start of December) and we saw a gestational sack and yolk sac...but nothing else. We thought we were approaching 8 weeks but the scan suggested it was only at 5 weeks 4 days! That would match with our conception dates (we tracked ovulation which was around 21st-23rd Dec) but not the full gestational period.

Just so confused by the whole dating system and really worried now. We are booked in for a return scan in 2 weeks.

On the plus side, they said the sacs looked healthy and there have been no miscarriage symptoms. I have sore boobs, bloating and fatigue as pregnancy symptoms but no nausea.

Anyone else going through this? Just need a bit of reassurance I think! X

tierneytarny · 29/01/2024 12:35

Despite saying I wouldnโ€™t test again, I lasted a dayโ€ฆ.but I got my dye stealer FRER so I am very happy and it has calmed my nerves somewhat.

I hope everyone is doing ok.

MudandMoet · 29/01/2024 12:41

@Xur I've not heard of that before. Be interesting to see what it's about when she's been. Let us know x

@Fawklight lovely scan pic, so pleased all is well x

@rupertbear91 omg I can't cope! ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

@bouncingblob sounds like you have all the right symptoms for your dates. Fingers crossed the next scan gives you the reassurance you need. It's all such a worry x

@tierneytarny congratulations!๐Ÿฅณ x

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been quiet on here. Just been taking in what you've all been saying.

This is my first pregnancy and I am currently 6w1d. I referred myself to midwives last week as directed by my GP. I received the first email last Monday, so I sent a chaser today as I haven't heard and got the (imo) slightly snotty response. Is it normal to not even speak to a midwife until as late as 10 weeks? The first email said that's when I would be seen, not the first time I'd hear back from them. Also only chased as they said if I didn't hear anything to contact them.

Just feeling very anxious about if I'm doing the right things and feel a bit deflated at this response :(

@bouncingblob Same here. Went in at 8 weeks and measured way behind, not sure how much they didnโ€™t tell me but I think it was around 6 weeks. I have another scan on Wednesday to check for growth. Also happened to my friend but she is even further behind at barely 5 weeks.

MrsB2019x · 29/01/2024 13:20

@Fawklight Beautiful scan!

@MadsAngel I heard from the team when I was around 6 weeks ish, but my booking appt isnโ€™t until 9+6. I think thereโ€™s a lot of discrepancy around the country as some people on here have already had theirs!

rupertbear91 · 29/01/2024 13:24

@MadsAngel I was told I wouldn't be seen for booking till 8-10 weeks either but a week later received a letter with a booking appointment for 13 feb so I will be 8+2.

MadsAngel · 29/01/2024 13:31

@MrsB2019x @rupertbear91 I understand that I won't have the appointment until 8-10 weeks, but their second email is making it sound like I won't even hear from anyone before then. I'd just like to have it booked in to make me feel a bit less anxious. I was expecting to be contacted before this time to confirm when the appointment is. Now it sounds like they're not even going to look at my referral until I'm 8-10 weeks! Doesn't help that the midwife I've been speaking to seems quite aggressive in her emails. Really ruins the whole experience

MadsAngel · 29/01/2024 13:32

I just don't understand why they told me to call if I didn't hear anything and then got a snotty reply back saying that, as advised previously, I wouldn't be hearing from them until 8-10 weeks. So confusing

Demi55 · 29/01/2024 13:34

@Fawklight that's amazing! so glad everything is good!

@californiacooper good luck! Hope everything is ok on the scan!

ForeverHopeful67 · 29/01/2024 13:36

@californiacooper so sorry to hear what you're going through โ˜น๏ธ I'm keeping everything crossed for your scan today!

@bouncingblob this happened with me on my last pregnancy! I thought I was around 8 weeks, had an early scan they could only see yolk sak etc so of course I thought the worst, went for a rescan two weeks later and everything was perfectly fine baby had grown as expected - still no idea how the dates worked out but she's a healthy almost 3 year old now!

All these early scans have made me jealous ๐Ÿคฃ I've just booked one for tomorrow - oops!! Feel silly as my 12 weeks scan is only just over 2 weeks away but 2 weeks feels like 2 years during your first trimester!!

nervouslyawaiting · 29/01/2024 13:52

Normally a follower and reader of threads but thought Iโ€™d jump in to say hi after some good news today. First pregnancy, found out three weeks ago and would be 8 weeks today according to period dates. Had some bleeding last week so had an early scan this morning (Iโ€™m with a new gp so didnโ€™t know what to expect but quite impressed by the local service and how reassuring the staff were). Scan put me at just over 7 weeks, and luckily all good and could see heartbeat even which helped with my anxiety. Iโ€™m going to keep watching and reading all your advice but probably wonโ€™t be much help with everything so new to me but reading it all has helped.

Fawklight · 29/01/2024 13:55

@MadsAngel when I was pregnant with my first child, I had a useless receptionist book me in to see the midwife but I wouldn't have seen them until I was 13 weeks. I phoned the general midwives and they told me this was normal. (it wasn't I think they misunderstood me)

A few days later the midwife called me and re arranged for when I was 8 weeks and called the receptionist an idiot. (He also once asked me if I wanted to keep an appointment after I said the words "Would like to cancel")
๐Ÿคท

you could email/call them again to say your anxious and this is your first pregnancy. Could tell them you don't understand the email at all as ones telling you to contact them and the other is saying that you won't hear from anyone and it's all very confusing.

Cat2022 · 29/01/2024 14:06

@Fawklight glad your scan went well!

I had my booking appointment and bloods today and I have the same midwife as last time so was nice to see a familiar face. She said I should get the letter with ultrasound appointment later this week.

I replied and said I don't understand and that I'm anxious with it being my first pregnancy. They just told me to call the general hospital early pregnancy line...

californiacooper · 29/01/2024 14:20

Hi guys- just to say that I've had my scan and they couldn't detect anything in my uterus, have been referred to EPU to confirm and do bloods I presume to check HCG is going down and not ectopic or something.
So best wishes to all of you and good luck, I'm so sorry that I can't continue on this journey with you all.
I feel remarkably okay now I know, it was never meant to be. I'm sad for my lost dream but at least it was now and not later.
