@Bakerbean Iโ€™ve booked a scan for the Sunday! 4th Feb. A weekend full of scans all round!

@MudandMoet I reckon Zak because they can pin it on Jasmine. Molly will believe anything that Harry says, and Jas is always throwing in random names and no one seems to notice.. so there, no going back now itโ€™s on the internet ๐Ÿ˜‚ you!?

cd24x · 24/01/2024 22:27

@HoneyandSunshine I was so happy when they banished him. His little bow after he revealed he was a traitor - wanted to smack him upside the head!

So I have this weird thing going on with my right hip that started this evening. It's not a pain, but just uncomfortable. It feels like my skin is being pulled really taut. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Hoping it's just some ligament stretching?

MudandMoet · 24/01/2024 22:32

@HRP1990 you've written exactly as we've predicted too ๐Ÿ˜‚

HRP1990 · 24/01/2024 22:34

@MudandMoet Let us take a Paul like bow if he goes! ๐Ÿ˜‚

WolfMother326 · 24/01/2024 23:32

Hello everyone, I haven't really been keeping up with the thread because I'm still travelling. Good wishes to everyone having early scans!

I finally got past covid and now the nausea at 7+3 is just so wild I can barely function. Haven't been sick just everything sounds hideous and I'm not getting much relief after eating or snacking which I was before. With my son it got better at week 10/11 so I'm hoping for that again.

I have an EPU scan on 8 Feb when I'm back and should be 9+4, then booking appointment the next day. I want to book the NIPT test for around 11 weeks, but will wait until I've had the scan at EPU. I'm nervous but also feel like I have to trust my body and just see what happens. Happy to have gotten this far!

siobhanmt247 · 25/01/2024 05:55

Morning all. BBT is up again and I'm only having a tiny bit of spotting each day so I think I might be ok and can stop panicking now. Ibwasnt going to have an early scan but the bleeding has made my anxiety way worse so might try get one next week

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 06:52

Morning @siobhanmt247 thatโ€™s really good to hear. Itโ€™s so nerve wracking not being able to see whatโ€™s going on in there isnโ€™t it ๐Ÿ˜ฃ but spotting is very common in these early weeks, hopefully itโ€™s just little bean bedding in and getting ready for the ride! Keep us posted on whether you scan early ๐Ÿ˜Š

ForeverHopeful67 · 25/01/2024 07:11

@californiacooper how far a long will you be when you have your scan? ๐Ÿ˜Š

californiacooper · 25/01/2024 07:33

@ForeverHopeful67 I will be 7 weeks I think. I was so tempted to book it this weekend as the website says from 6 weeks but I thought it's better to wait in case I'm not so far along

VT6 · 25/01/2024 07:38

Iโ€™ve got my early scan on the 3rd Feb aswell!
I will be bang on 8 weeks ( I hope) Iโ€™ve got my booking in appointment on Monday! Didnโ€™t make it to one last time so Iโ€™m counting it as a small victory. Even though Iโ€™m an anxious mess but the symptoms are strong and are not letting me forget Iโ€™m definitely pregnant (which Iโ€™m grateful for but feel horrific 90% of the time!)

wingingitandsoaring · 25/01/2024 07:50

Hello just wanted to add myself to this thread! I'm 8 weeks, due sept 2nd (estimated). Second pregnancy, the nausea is sooo much worse this time! I wonder if it's a girl (previous is a boy).

Anyone on any sickness medication from the doctor? I think I'm going to go and ask for some this week.

californiacooper · 25/01/2024 07:55

@VT6 that's loads of us now I've lost count!! I wish this had signatures at the bottom so we could remember details about who's who ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Good luck for your scan, and you'll def make it to the booking this time. This is the year I can feel it :)

I haven't contacted the GP yet... waiting until I know everything is okay... just in case I need that NHS round of IVF after all.

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 08:02

Hi @wingingitandsoaring, welcome to the club! Similar dates to me, I'm due on the 1st.

Has anyone actually been sick or is the nausea just that feeling we mostly seem to have?

Hi @WolfMother326 pleased you're out of covid stage but sorry straight into sicky feeling stage! I'm the same with the NIPT. I'm going to discuss it today at my scan appointment and see what's what with it as I don't fully understand dates around it etc.

Decaffe · 25/01/2024 08:16

@siobhanmt247 Iโ€™m so pleased the spotting isnโ€™t progressing and your BBT is still high this morning. Fingers crossed itโ€™s just the entirely normal spotting that can happen in 1/3 of all pregnancies!

Welcome to the thread to everyone new! @WolfMother326 my first scan is also the 8th Feb, when I will be 7w3d. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am 5w3d today and apart from the very tender boobs I feel entirely normal. No nausea, no metallic taste, itโ€™s very strange. I am bloated and a bit hungrier but thatโ€™s the progesterone suppositories for you!

My last HCG last Friday was fine but I am starting to wish the morning sickness would hit me so I know things are progressing!

wingingitandsoaring · 25/01/2024 09:36

Hi @MudandMoet ! Thanks!

I haven't actually been sick but the nausea is so bad I can't do anything :( it's exhausting battling it all day every day!

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 09:42

Is anyone able to please explain what to expect at the first booking in appointment with the NHS? Is it quite a long appointment? Do they ask for your full medical history, and do they take blood/urine samples etc? First pregnancy so this is all very new to me!

Also, any important/useful questions we should ask?! โค๏ธ

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 09:44

@MudandMoet no physical sick, yet! Came very close last night but so far itโ€™s just nausea. Mostly mild but pretty constant, and then I get peaks of feeling really ropey and like I might need to run to the bathroom at any moment!

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 09:54

I get you fully @wingingitandsoaring it makes you want to do naff all. In the moments I'm not feelings icky I dash around like a mad thing getting stuff done.

@Bakerbean they usually book an hour out for the first booking in appointment. They'll take bloods and urine and also check your BP, weigh you and measure your height. They go through your medical history briefly and also your partners and take their contact details too. They should give you a little book too but mine was a locum this time so she didn't know where they were (said I'd get it an next appointment there) within an hour of my appointment I'd got an email from the NHS for free dental treatment and prescriptions! She also mentioned some free baby packs but again didn't know where anything was.
Is your booking in appointment soon? Xx

40andhopeful · 25/01/2024 10:00

Hi all! Stayed up late last night reading this thread ๐Ÿ˜‚
I got my BFP last Friday. DD is 2 yrs old and it took 6 years to conceive including 4 failed rounds of IVF then it happened naturally.
I got pregnant again summer 2022 but lost it at about 7 weeks.
canโ€™t quite believe I am pregnant again but like a few have said, I canโ€™t just enjoy it, Iโ€™m so anxious about it all due to my history! Add to that the fact that I am 40 so I know my chances of mc are higher.
Iโ€™m 5+1 today and had a few symptoms - slight nausea, sore boobs, burping a lot (weird I know but happened with my first too!)
symptoms never seem to be there in the morning but come on through the day.
had a constant dull ache yesterday which seems to have gone now so hoping that was normal.
Will deffo book a private scan at 7-8 weeks if Iโ€™m still pregnant just for reassurance. I was getting them on a weekly basis with my first ๐Ÿ˜‚

enjoying following everyoneโ€™s stories on here โ˜บ๏ธ

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 10:03

Thanks so much @MudandMoet thats really good to know. Ooo free dental treatment & prescriptions - small perks hey!! Yes itโ€™s next Friday, 2nd Feb. Oh how slowly the weeks have passed waiting for this first appointment & scan - Iโ€™ve never known a month to drag to much! ๐Ÿ˜…

I work with my Mum full time, every day, just me and her, in one room ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ. Itโ€™s been SO hard keeping this from her so I just canโ€™t wait to get over the milestone of our checking in appointment & first scan so I can tell her (everything crossed for a positive scan). At least then I can feel however I need to feel each day at work, without trying to pretend Iโ€™m absolutely fine!

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 10:13

Hi @40andhopeful welcome and congratulations! There's so many on this thread been through similar and it's great to have this sounding board for advice and guidance and just general chit chat. It certainly gets me through the long ass days. Fingers crossed this is a little sticky bean and you can start to relax soon xx

@Bakerbean I think at this stage of pregnancy every single second feels like an hour. I feel bad for constantly wishing my life away but I can't get to 12 weeks quick enough but even then I know I'll still be panicking. Oh bless you! That must be sooo hard. We've not told anyone either but I only chat on the phone and see them a few times a week so that's quite easy.

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 10:21

@MudandMoet I know exactly what you mean! I canโ€™t wait to feel more โ€˜relaxedโ€™ but it probably will never come ๐Ÿ™ˆ. Iโ€™m just buckled in tight and doing my best! Itโ€™s definitely tricky hiding it on the daily basis, if I didnโ€™t work so closely with her I think weโ€™d be more inclined to wait the full 12 weeks, but weโ€™ll be 9 when we tell her. Just hoping for the best, for all of us on here!

Xur · 25/01/2024 10:21

Iโ€™m debating do I go for a scan at 9 weeks when I am back in UK or no.
Someone mentioned earlier that they are viewing this if itโ€™s meant it will be.
I feel like I need to be constantly informed howโ€™s the bun in the oven.

HolyMoly24 · 25/01/2024 10:27

I'll be waiting until nhs 12 week scan even though I'm desperate to have one at 8 weeks like I did with my first.

My partner said I should just put the money I would have payed on a scan and add it to our baby savings so I'm doing that instead.

This will be the longest 12 weeks ever. Still no symptoms either.

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 10:29

@Xur I think you should do whatever feels right for you. I think once weโ€™ve had our first scan, Iโ€™ll feel a touch more relaxed for a matter of days & then the anxiety will creep back in. At the moment we donโ€™t intend to do any other private scans & just wait for the 12-14 week NHS one, but that could change! I really think you just need to do what you need to do to keep yourself going & feeling as good as you can when weโ€™re all feeling to vulnerable ๐Ÿ™‚
