@Fawklight Iโ€™m sorry they have treated you so poorly. I think there is still hope though, can you afford another private scan before 10 weeks? I think youโ€™ll lose your mind if you have to wait for that long.

tierneytarny · 23/01/2024 15:27

@Fawklight Iโ€™m worry youโ€™ve been treated so terribly. Itโ€™s not good enough.

Good luck to all having scans this week.

I have quite a bad pain in my back at the moment. From a google, I can see that this normal but I am on high alert. Has anyone else had quite bad muscular pain in their lower back?

Xur · 23/01/2024 15:44

@tierneytarny I had lower back pain for the whole duration of week 5. It can be the uterus bonds stretching, for majority of people the sensation is in the front (in a form of various cramps and pains), but some people get it in the back as well. Itโ€™s normal, as long as itโ€™s not excruciating.

HRP1990 · 23/01/2024 14:13

With all the scan talk, has anyone thought about how theyโ€™re going to tell others!? My 12 week scan is a few days before Motherโ€™s Day, so I think weโ€™re going to wait until then, to tell parents ๐Ÿฅฐ perhaps pop a picture of the scan inside a Motherโ€™s Day card!

We were trying to wait but my parents have said they are going to cancel their holiday in 2 weeks as I'm not well.... so all being ok we are going to tell them at the weekend why I'm not well! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I saw some scratch cards on Amazon that look quite cool as we don't have a scan pic for them yet

tierneytarny · 23/01/2024 16:57

@Xur thanks! Just very uncomfortable. This is baby three so youโ€™d assume Iโ€™d know what was happening but I donโ€™t remember this happening before. I might be grabbing my pregnancy pillow for tonight (any excuse as it was amazing ๐Ÿคฃ)

Xur · 23/01/2024 17:04

@tierneytarny
for me itโ€™s baby nr 1 and because I ainโ€™t got a clue whatโ€™s going on, Iโ€™ve googled every symptom, over analysed it and memorised ๐Ÿ˜‚

@HolyMoly24 thatโ€™s such a lovely idea! Iโ€™ve seen really cute knitted jumpers with big bro/sis embroidered on the back ๐Ÿ˜

@longingtobe23 that is fair enough! Weโ€™ve told a few but waiting abit longer to tell family. Thatโ€™s going to be so special telling your son!!

@MudandMoet aw thatโ€™s so sweet, Pinterest has the best ideas! Iโ€™m currently scrolling too lol

@rupertbear91 omg lol imagine if they cancelled their holiday!! Iโ€™ve seen the scratch cards too lol theyโ€™re a really fun idea!

siobhanmt247 · 23/01/2024 18:32

Pretty proud of myself. Managed a run on the treadmill last night (definitely felt a lot harder than normal though) and a weights session last night. This is despite wanting a nap by 10am but I think I'm going to need to keep up with it because I cannot stop eating!

californiacooper · 23/01/2024 19:06

@siobhanmt247 well done you! I've got a salsa dancing class at 8pm tonight that I'm not really feeling like doing.
How often are you exercising? Are you doing your same routines for now as before, or making any modifications?
I found out I was pregnant on Saturday and Mondays are busy/Tuesdays salsa so weds-fri are my normal gym days... I had a mental plan to kick it up a gear as I've been a bit lazy since new year (maybe this is why!) but I don't know if I should now...

californiacooper · 23/01/2024 19:07

@Xur baby #1 for me too.... how long have you known for? I'm at 48 hours now and still not quite believing it. And not sure what to do!! ๐Ÿคฃ

tierneytarny · 23/01/2024 19:10

@Xur Iโ€™m very grateful for your knowledge! I was really good with baby one but suddenly
more panicked for baby three but less knowledgable.

siobhanmt247 · 23/01/2024 19:13

@californiacooper o try and do 3 x weight and 3 x run. I'm only avoiding it really. I didn't do too much last week as I was too nervous but I'm trying pull up my big girl pants. I've got a whoop sonim watching my strain levels and listening to it when it tells me to rest. Enjoy salsa, sounds fun!

Starlight11111 · 23/01/2024 19:20

@Fawklight I am so sorry you're not being supported. I've experienced struggles getting referrals and general advice from GP/EPU and it makes you feel very alone. We're all here for you. How far off 10 weeks are you for a private scan? Would you consider going earlier if it's a few weeks away? As others have said, very good sign that you still have symptoms and bleeding can be very normal for many. Sending hugs.

I've got an early scan tomorrow at 7 weeks. Now that it's rolled around I feel like it's very early for a scan and I'm terrified of getting bad news and this bubble being over. Trying to keep a positive mindset but sharing my fears here... will keep you all posted tomorrow xxxx

tierneytarny · 23/01/2024 19:24

Just did another clear blue weeks indicator - slightly upset that thereโ€™s been no change from 1-2 in a week. I know theyโ€™re not perfect but I was really hoping for a 2-3.

californiacooper · 23/01/2024 19:24

@Nic17 I think 6 is the earliest you can have a scan and see a heartbeat so I am sure that it will be fine and you will see your little bean. Let us know how it goes. At 7 weeks is it an internal u/s they do? I assume so but haven't got to that stage yet (weekend after next for me, going to book it tomorrow).

@Fawklight I'm sorry you're not getting the support you need. We are all here for you. X

Starlight11111 · 23/01/2024 19:26

@tierneytarny it may well be 2-3 with FMU!

@californiacooper thank you! Yes it will be internal they said. Exciting for booking your scan!

tierneytarny · 23/01/2024 19:29

It could be - I should have waited. I might wait for a few days before doing another to be sure.

@Nic17 with baby one and two I saw a heartbeat at 5 + 5 so 7 weeks should be fine! Xx

Xur · 23/01/2024 19:41

@siobhanmt247
I am also going to be hitting the gym again but after 12 weeks. I am also planning to do a specialist consultation on what exercises I should include in my program and which should I take out. Plus another matter in question is by how much I will need to reduce the weights and the intensity, as I donโ€™t think going in with 32 kgs when pregnant is a reasonable choice. I am particularly interested in some pelvic floor stimulators, abdominal muscle. I want to strengthen them so that if they split after I have the baby they would be flexible enough to sort themselves out and go back up and also I know that there are certain squats and leg exercises that are really good for pregnant ladies.

@californiacooper I know itโ€™s nerve wrecking isnโ€™t it!
I found out on the morning of the first of January. It was a proper surprise and I was under the impression I canโ€™t really get pregnant like that. We had been trying for 6 months and in between I had a scan and the doctor was under the impression I have either a 14mm polyp or a submucosal fibroid. And alsoโ€ฆI had never been pregnant before, and Iโ€™m 33. So my surprise was similar to yours from what you described, I just hadnโ€™t been trying for long enough to have IVF. Before this I was on Que for a hysteroscopy to have the uterus looked at and possibly fibroids removed, but Iโ€™ve had two scans now since I found Iโ€™m pregnant and both (two different doctors) said I donโ€™t have anything, any polyps or fibroids, just a baby inside now so not sure what was the sonographer looking at.

MudandMoet · 23/01/2024 19:58

Good luck tomorrow @Nic17 it's definitely not too early to scan. I had a probe up the vag one at 6+4 and it showed baby bean and a strong heartbeat so at 7 weeks you're sure to see something. Let us know how you get on xx

siobhanmt247 · 23/01/2024 20:00

@Nic17 good luck. Try stay positive x

MrsB2019x · 23/01/2024 20:08

@Nic17 Mine was at 6+6 and had a lovely strong heartbeat and I just know yours will be the same! My stomach was in knots with the anxiety that morning though so completely understand where youโ€™re coming from. Sending lots of positive vibes for tomorrow x

HRP1990 · 23/01/2024 21:43

@Nic17 let us know how you get on tomorrow - Weโ€™ll be thinking of you!

@californiacooper Salsa, Iโ€™d looove to take up salsa, how cool! Iโ€™ve been doing reformer Pilates for almost a year now, I told my instructor about the pregnancy and she said I donโ€™t need to modify anything until the second trimester. Just to listen to my body and drink plenty of water. Iโ€™m hoping to carry on as long as possible as I think itโ€™ll help in the long run, especially post pregnancy.

siobhanmt247 · 23/01/2024 22:00

Back to being anxious againโ€ฆive had some light pink discharge tonight :(

rupertbear91 · 23/01/2024 22:09

Good luck @Nic17 I'm sure it will all go smoothly. Although I totally get your feeling I have mine booked for a week Sunday at 7 weeks too and keep getting huge waves of anxiety over it!

MrsB2019x · 24/01/2024 06:49

How is everyone managing work with nausea? I have woken up feeling rubbish this morning and really struggling to find the oomph to go in. Iโ€™m barely sleeping which isnโ€™t helping. I canโ€™t WFH this morning because I have a visit with a service user.
Didnโ€™t have to worry about this last time as I was WFH during covid so I could work from bed ๐Ÿ˜‚
