Yes me too! I’m 11+3 and still awaiting a scan letter! I feel quite normal now which makes me anxious as I don’t feel very pregnant. But they do say towards the end of the first trimester that is common! Xx

SnookyPook · 19/01/2024 15:52

@Blueberry1990 oh gosh that sounds scary! So glad all was ok though and great news about the scan! Lovely hearing of other scans going well too 🥰 Mine will be 2 weeks today. Definitely feeling more real now! Good luck to those coming up 💗

EMJL · 19/01/2024 15:53

@SnookyPook our scan in on the same day! 2 weeks feels like it's going to drag!! 😩 I haven't had a single scan yet so praying everything is okay 🤞🏼

Isitisit · 19/01/2024 13:49

Ooh lots of 12 week scans coming up!

Mine is next Friday. I had my NIPT test on Wednesday and so am currently in the anxious waiting period for the results.

How long do you have to wait? Have you opted to find out sex of baby too? I'm sure it'll all be fine 💕

Aw hey scan buddy!! Yeah a day in trimester 1 feels like a week doesn't it?! 😂 It'll come round soon enough I guess. X

EMJL · 19/01/2024 15:56

@SnookyPook it feels like an age away but I'm sure it'll fly! I'll be 12+4 on the day of the scan! Hope you're feeling okay xxx

Isitisit · 19/01/2024 17:16

@SnookyPook It came back earlier today as inconclusive. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about though as that can mean they dropped it or managed to destroy it in the lab. Same thing happened to my friend and she came back low risk for everything on retest.

Its just annoying to have to redo! Trying to get an appt for Monday.

FirstTimeMum1608 · 19/01/2024 22:21

Thank you @SnookyPook and @DisneyLady1 !

I’ll definitely do NCT, I’m just yet to decide whether to join the group where I’ll possibly have the youngest baby or the group where I possibly have the oldest. I think I’m with you @SnookyPook to go with the earlier course for the same school year. Thank you! X

bobbles4091 · 19/01/2024 23:50

@Isitisit how many weeks were you when you've had the NIPT? We also want to have one but I couldn't work out whether to do it before or after the NHS testing. Apparently they offer it on the NHS now if screening results come back 'at risk', but I'm hoping that wouldn't be the case anyway so I'm toying with just doing it during the 10th week just to save myself the worry.
Sorry it came back inconclusive, how annoying! Do you have to go back?

brbttc · 20/01/2024 01:41

@Anxiousfirstpregnancy with my first pregnancy, I developed the worst headache of my life at around 11-12weeks!! Had to take 2 days off work! That was the first time I had to take work off all pregnancy! It was such a weird, horrible headache! But, on the plus side, it was the final bad symptom I had, as once the headache cleared up, so did the rest of the icky first trimester symptoms and I felt amazing from then on!

SunSparkle · 20/01/2024 07:14

@FirstTimeMum1608 go with having the youngest baby in the group. One same school year and two, you can learn from those that have had their babies already! The first babe in our group was born just after Christmas and my daughter was born mid Feb so there was 6/7 weeks between all the babies. She was early induced and I was very very overdue!

Thanks @SunSparkle two very good points!

Has anyone’s nausea only just kicked in? I was 10 weeks yesterday and for the past week my nausea had fully ramped up. I thought I had got away with a nausea free pregnancy - that teaches me! My mum is a retired midwife and has warned me it can continue until 16 weeks, wah.

Also I think I saw the first October 2024 baby group on here yesterday. Crazy how time flies!

Isitisit · 20/01/2024 09:45

@bobbles4091

I had NIPT at 10 weeks 6d. My first scan measured 3 days behind so I wanted to be sure that I was definitely 10 weeks.

I wanted to get it before the scan as it’s more accurate than NHS and I didn’t want the worry and uncertainty if NHS results came back high risk, I just wanted to know asap.

I have emailed them to try and get a Monday appointment but I think they are closed for the weekend so I’ll only find out on the day if they can squeeze me in.

I’m hoping the results will still come back before my 12 week scan (Friday).

DisneyLady1 · 20/01/2024 11:13

@Anxiousfirstpregnancy I've been on and off with headaches too this last week! I'm 12 weeks too. Wasn't sure if it was dehydration, or tooth issues (my gums have become sore - another lovely pregnancy symptom!) But just seems to come and go.

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 20/01/2024 11:59

@DisneyLady1 its driving me nuts it disappears for about 30 min when I take paracetamol and then returns again.
I also wake up with a stuffy nose every single day. Oh gosh sore gums I hope they improve for you soon! Xx

Deee876 · 20/01/2024 19:24

Hi, just wondering how long did people weight for their 1st midwife appointment? The tests i did say 3+ weeks and we can't really work out how many weeks I would be. But it says you can wait upto 3 weeks before your first appointment 🙃 hoping it Will be sooner 🤞

dg3131 · 20/01/2024 19:25

I had mine at almost ten weeks, have you done the self referral online? Go from the first day of your last period to work out how many weeks you are.

Deee876 · 20/01/2024 19:29

Yes i have, In that case I would be ten weeks, but i did test negative just before Christmas and I have super duper irregular periods. Thanks for the response.

dg3131 · 20/01/2024 19:33

@Deee876 sorry this has confised me. If you tested negative before Xmas I would presume you ovulated late if your period was quite a while ago? so conceived over Xmas then have you got the 3+ weeks recently?

Deee876 · 20/01/2024 19:38

Thats what I assume too as I've always had problems with my periods. Yes the positive tests were earlier this week.

dg3131 · 20/01/2024 19:42

@Deee876 okay so I'm guessing you're probably more 5/6 week mark than 10 so I'd give it another few weeks for the midwife :)

Karinx · 20/01/2024 19:43

I have my first midwife appointment on Tuesday, I'll be 8+5 based on LMP. I called them up and got an appointment for a week later. I am in Wales though

Deee876 · 20/01/2024 19:45

Thank you 😊 appreciate the help

Deee876 · 20/01/2024 19:46

Thank you. 😊

bobbles4091 · 20/01/2024 22:13

Thanks @Isitisit , I plan to do the same and try and schedule it for the latter half of my tenth week. Did you bother googling all the different brands (SAFE, Panorama, Iona etc), or just find a local clinic and go for it? They all look to do the same thing really. Lots of the clinics near me offer a few different ones which all claim to be the best one 😅
