I bet it’s amazing for you watching the progress. Will be nice to see the difference 5.5 weeks apart. They told me at 7 weeks I was 7 weeks 5 days by measurement so I can’t wait to find out the actual due date.
yeah they said it was a haemorrhage but if I bled pink I was okay, if it was red go to A&e and if I didn’t bleed my body could absorb it. I haven’t had anything but they said they will check on 12 week.
I have had a vein removed and have dvt in family so I’m on aspirin now everyday and a higher dose vitamin d and folic acid. It’s just made me worried so hopefully on Tuesday we are all good.
I don’t think I could have held out the full 12 weeks! Well done for doing so I’m far too impatient lol x

graceinc22 · 17/01/2024 20:15

@SnookyPook so glad to hear your scan went well today, how special to be able to see the development in your baby!! Really does seem that this pregnancy is so much more straightforward than your last ones, really I’m so relieved for you after how awful your 2023 was. X

SnookyPook · 17/01/2024 21:00

@graceinc22 aw thank you so much that's so lovely of you. ❤️ How are you getting on? Xx

graceinc22 · 17/01/2024 21:49

@SnookyPook I’m alright thanks! 10+1 today, which was the day my bleeding started in my last pregnancy. So today I’ve been quite preoccupied, but all seems well - getting past today will be a milestone I think. X

CRbear · 18/01/2024 11:58

Hi everyone! Was on the last thread but I’ve just been lurking on this second one.

I am 11+2, with first scan booked for 13wks on Jan 30th so less than 2 weeks to wait. I’m also feeling my symptoms reduce- but presuming it’s because I’m transitioning into second tri which is exciting!

My anxiety is ramping up towards the scan but I’m just doing my best to remember that all is very likely well. All the scans in my last pregnancy, which ended in miscarriage, were bad or neutral news so it’s only natural to feel apprehensive. My husband is really confident which helps weirdly!

I took my first “bump” pic on Tuesday- ironically the flattest my stomach has been in weeks as bloating seems to have abated somewhat! I’m definitely starting to believe this might actually be happening now!

CRbear · 18/01/2024 12:07

@graceinc22 i found the equivalent date for my own pregnancy really hard, bring on tomorrow when you’re past it! Thinking of you

SunSparkle · 18/01/2024 15:52

@SnookyPook I'm glad to check in and see your 10 week scan went well - how are you feeling? Are you starting to feel a bit more relaxed into this pregnancy?

@graceinc22 sendign you a giant hug. I found getting through week 9 and beyond really hard for the same reasons. I ended up at EPU this week for another scan as had a bit of bleeding and everything is still looking perfectly well. I'm hoping by 12 weeks I can relax a bit more. How are you feeling?

I've been off work for the last 2.5 weeks with sickness and due to go back soon. I'm a bit scared because I'm still so tired all the time - the meds for the sickness are keeping it manageable but I need a nap by 12 noon every day. Hoping work can let me back in gradually and I can tell my team after 12 weeks so they can understand why I've been off as it's been a secret until now.

12 week scan done, baby is safe and well 😊 so happy and breathing a sigh of relief 💕

SnookyPook · 18/01/2024 20:33

@Welshgal85 wonderful news! 😃🥰 You must be one of the earliest due dates in the group? Think you're the first 12wk scan thats been reported on? Really glad it was all looking good 🥰

@SunSparkle so sorry you've been so poorly with it all. I'm sure your team will definitely understand the minute they know. Hopefully you'll start feeling better into the 2nd trimester too. I'm feeling lots better actually. 12wks is in sight now and really hoping all will keep progressing well.

FirstTimeMum1608 · 18/01/2024 20:46

Hi all! I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and a long time lurker on this thread!

I wondered if anyone will be doing an NCT antenatal course (or has done one before)? My EDD is 16 August so I fall in the middle of two groups, one for babies due mid July to mid august and then one for babies due mid august to mid September.

I’m thinking of going with the earlier course, so babies are in the same school year. But, I’m conscious that as this is my first I could be late and baby could be quite a few weeks younger (I know in grand scheme of things those weeks don’t mean anything, but more just to experience similar things at similar times to other parents for support!). Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thank you x

SnookyPook · 18/01/2024 20:58

@FirstTimeMum1608 congratulations and welcome 😊 I didn't do NCT with my son as it was COVID lockdown! So no experience of that. I think I would also go for the earlier group in your position - even if you went overdue the highest probability is they'd be in that earlier school year (I was 8 days past my due date with my DS and they will induce if you get to 2 weeks over). Also, I would imagine there'd be others in a similar position anyway who would also go over. It can also be quite handy having some friends a couple of months ahead to see what's coming! But it's all recent enough for them that they remember well the stage you're at.

DisneyLady1 · 18/01/2024 21:12

@FirstTimeMum1608 welcome!

I'd definitely recommend NCT if you can do it! I found it so helpful (did it in 2022) and just really lovely to meet a group of people who all live nearby. They honestly carried me through those first difficult few months of becoming a parent! And we still all meet up now :) would have done it just for the friends to be honest as I was new to the area and knew no-one.

The course itself was great too - I knew nothing about the basics of looking after a baby so it was invaluable.

Welshgal85 · 18/01/2024 21:23

Yeah originally thought I was due early August but dating scan was showing as end of July!

dg3131 · 19/01/2024 07:44

Hi, hope everyone's getting on okay and getting excited for their scans! Feel like I've been pregnant for a lifetime but also can't believe I've had my scan! I'm actually due 31st July according to scan but my date is 1st august off ovulation. Good luck for everyone waiting.

graceinc22 · 19/01/2024 08:56

@dg3131 @Welshgal85 so good to hear scans went well! so exciting! <3

graceinc22 · 19/01/2024 08:58

@SunSparkle @CRbear thanks so much for good wishes. am now 2 days past that day, with no bleeding, definitely feels like a milestone :) part of me thinks, well maybe the progesterone is just suppressing bleeding and actually things would have gone wrong already if not for that, but trying to put that aside - I was told when being prescribed the progesterone that it doesn't stop you miscarrying if there's a chromosomal problem with the baby (and presumably not also if the cause of the miscarriage was not to do with progesterone deficiency) so it is still a positive thing that I'm not bleeding. x

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 19/01/2024 08:59

@dg313 Aww I am glad you had yours mine is Tuesday. According to pregnancy tracker I’m due 2nd August on my early scan at 7weeks they said 1st August so hopefully Tuesday I will know.

graceinc22 · 19/01/2024 08:59

@SunSparkle hope you feel better soon, and yes, roll on 12 weeks!! xxx

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 19/01/2024 09:00

I’m officially 12 weeks today and the last 3 days I’ve had such severe headache? Is anyone else suffering. Paracetamol doesn’t even touch it. On advice of the midwife I have to start aspirin today so I am hoping that will help slightly too.

Karinx · 19/01/2024 09:09

We went for an early scan yesterday just for reassurance. I was 8 weeks but measuring 8+4 and saw a strong heartbeat. It certainly is a special feeling 🥰

Symptoms wise I am feeling sick pretty much all day now, but the evenings are worst. No energy and the past two days I've had a headache. Struggling with what to eat as everything makes my stomach turn 🤢

I have my booking appointment on Tuesday and hopefully will get my 12 week scan date through soon!

Sav2023 · 19/01/2024 09:31

@dg3131 @Welshgal85 congratulations on the scan ❤️! Mine is next Thursday 🤞
@Karinx yey that’s great about the scan!
@FirstTimeMum1608 welcome!
I’m 11+3 and my symptoms seem to be improving! Nausea is getting better and I’m waking up refreshed rather than feeling like I’ve been hit my a bus. Evenings I’m still a bit nauseous and bloated, sore boobs are still here.
Anyone else around 11 weeks feeling a bit better? I’m trying to not worry something has gone wrong and enjoy not feeling completely rotten!

bobbles4091 · 19/01/2024 12:37

It's so lovely to hear about all these positive scans. I still haven't told anyone (bar OH obviously) so it's nice to be able to come here and not be so secret about it!

@Sav2023 reading your symptoms are subsiding makes for excellent reading for me. I'm 9 weeks and so unwell, and now have a cold on top. Glad you're able to maybe start to enjoy it a bit more!

A question to all - I had my booking apt on Wednesday and the midwife has recommended I take 150mg of aspirin to support placental development. For context I had suspected placental insufficiency with my first (small but perfectly formed!), I didn't with my second. Has anyone else been recommended this and what are your thoughts on whether to take it or not?

Blueberry1990 · 19/01/2024 13:19

Got my 12 week scan on Monday.
Had 4 scans already (3 routine and 1 due to bleeding) and my bloods done and everything is looking great so far 🥰
Had a scare last week when I woke up and the bed was covered in blood but everything turned out to be fine

Isitisit · 19/01/2024 13:49

Ooh lots of 12 week scans coming up!

Mine is next Friday. I had my NIPT test on Wednesday and so am currently in the anxious waiting period for the results.
