Daft question alert !!! If we all actually make it to full term (September) does that mean we'll have children who'll be the oldest in their school year? Does anyone know ... Is the cut off for the previous year 31st August?

Hello new ladies... congratulations on your BFPs!! 🥳

emmatcc1 · 28/12/2023 22:14

@MudandMoet No they will be one of the younger ones. The oldest will be January babies.

Kate543 · 28/12/2023 22:38

If you are in the uk September babies will be the oldest in the year the cut off is august 31st

emmatcc1 · 28/12/2023 23:17

@Kate543 uk system is weird. We have children in class that are born in the same year.

MrsB2019x · 28/12/2023 23:24

@MudandMoet Yeah that’s right. Gonna be strange as my DD is an August baby so will be the youngest in her year! September babies mean an extra year of paying for nursery though lol

emmatcc1 · 29/12/2023 09:31

The lack of symptoms today again is really stressing me out. I’m out of pregnancy tests so I did an ovulation test since I’ve seen everyone get a positive opk while pregnant but mine is barely there.

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 29/12/2023 09:50

Hi I’m due august 2nd I’m 9 weeks today. I had a private scan at 7 weeks as I was so nervous but just wanted to know if it’s normal to not feel pregnant on some days?
I’ve had nausea it seems to have settled, my boobs were really sore between 4-7 weeks now they are just big, the only thing is I’m weeing more in the night.
I feel like I want another scan before 12 weeks do settle my worry but I can’t afford to keep paying.

MrsB2019x · 29/12/2023 11:09

@emmatcc1 I have zero symptoms too. I keep prodding my boobs wondering why they don’t hurt 😂
I don’t think an OPK is a reliable indicator, could you nip out and get more tests today? Just for a bit of peace of mind?

emmatcc1 · 29/12/2023 11:43

@MrsB2019x I definitely could get more tests but I’m terrified of the line being lighter than the last test.

OP posts:
GHJ · 29/12/2023 12:37

@emmatcc1 I think you can get a flooding effect where there is too much hormone for it to go positive and also it's not the designed use for an ovulation test. I would get some cheapie pregnancy tests if you feel the need to poas. That being said if you're not in pain or bleeding I would try really hard not to worry.

emmatcc1 · 29/12/2023 12:47

@GHJ I’m probably just overly anxious because I was so nauseous the past days but yesterday and today it was minimal. I have no cramping or bleeding and bbt is still very high.

@Anxiousfirstpregnancy yep entirely normal for symptoms to come and go. With my first pregnancy, I felt sick 6-9 weeks but after that the sickness vanished. There can be a long time when you don't really feel much and you don't have a bump yet so it's like not really being pregnant at all. That was all the way through from week 9 to week 16 for me!

Bearcub01 · 29/12/2023 13:32

@Kate543 not in Scotland. The school ages run from March - Feb so September babies will be 4 when they start school in August.

Fawklight · 29/12/2023 14:52

@emmatcc1 I know it's stressful as I keep testing too, but the line will eventually disappear due to the hook effect. To much HGC in the system.

Is there anyway you can talk to a doctor or your midwife to explain the stress your feeling. Failing that are you able to buy a private scan?

I have bearly any symptoms myself. Just bad back and heartburn.

Kate543 · 29/12/2023 14:52

Oh sorry, you learn something new every day :) I suppose I meant to say England then

Fawklight · 29/12/2023 14:57

Welcome all new people both due in August and September 🥰
@RoSco197 has kindly set up a Facebook page for us I can't remember what page it's on though 🙃

MudandMoet · 29/12/2023 16:19

I'm the same, no symptoms at all other than tender boobs these last few days but I'm just taking it that until I start bleeding or having serious pains everything's okay. It's not stressing me out but I really can't wait to a) be 6 weeks to get a scan and b) be past 9 weeks because that's the longest I've got with my last pregnancies. It's the waiting that's the hardest I think.

Wanderlust86 · 29/12/2023 17:20

Hey, I would love to join this group! Congratulations to everyone!!
I found out I'm pregnant yesterday and have an estimated due date of September 6th 😀
Bit of a weird story I think but also something nice about it. I was pregnant in April but miscarried and had a due date of Dec 28th which is the exact date I found out I was pregnant again x

emmatcc1 · 29/12/2023 17:20

@MudandMoet I definitely think I need to appreciate this break I get from nausea before it hits all again. 4 weeks is still very early for symptoms. Chances of miscarriage ate pretty low and go even more down as I’m very young.

OP posts:
Wanderlust86 · 29/12/2023 17:24

Sorry I don't want to add to anyones anxiety by talking about a miscarriage. I just thought it was a weird coincidence.

emmatcc1 · 29/12/2023 17:31

@Wanderlust86 No worries, you’re all good. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
Will this be your first?

OP posts:
Wanderlust86 · 29/12/2023 17:36

Yeah my 1st. Very excited!
I knew something was different as I was feeling dizzy at work, weirdly sweating and have now started feeling a bit sick.
Is this 1st for you?
