Hello everyone just found out today I’m pregnant after 17 long cycles of trying. I’m 4 weeks and already so nauseous.

Xur · 17/01/2024 18:58

@Sydney1988 & @rupertbear91
this is called pregnancy leukorrhea or something like that. It’s very common.
Its caused by hormones in pregnancy and I’ve heard that this thing goes on for the whole duration of pregnancy (pretty much).
so yeah, stock up on those liners 🤣

MudandMoet · 17/01/2024 19:11

Congratulations @longingtobe23 Welcome aboard!

Pleased it's not just me with the chin spots but I hope they do vanish by the second trimester (if I get there and if I do, I'll take the spots to the end if that what it takes!) in fact I'd take pissy pants, watery discharge, heavy boobs anything if it make it to full term🤞🏼

siobhanmt247 · 17/01/2024 19:14

Congratulations @longingtobe23

Sydney1988 · 17/01/2024 19:18

@MudandMoet Hahaha well put. Same!! Throw in some spews, 5am wake ups and rancid farts 😂😂

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 17/01/2024 19:29

Anyone else massively struggling at work? I'm a solicitor so my days are spent either reading documents in silence or calls with clients where I need to be on my best form, and the nausea is making it impossible. I feel too sick to focus for long enough on work tasks. I am supposed to go in the office 3 days a week and I just cannot do it. I don't have the energy and I need an endless supply of toast 😭I'm falling behind so much and I don't know what to do....I've been hiding it the last 2 weeks but I can't do this for another 6 weeks!

Xur · 17/01/2024 19:37

@TTCSoManyQuestions88
When I went for my first scan the doctor prescribed me these pills called Navatac. I’ve not even used them cos my sickness has been manageable. Google it up maybe you can get it in the UK aswell (or something similar). Alternatively you can try ginger tea, ginger does miracles to any type of nausea.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 17/01/2024 19:41

@Xur thanks, will have a search for that. Ginger has done zero for me unfortunately 😔

ForeverHopeful67 · 17/01/2024 19:46

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 are you able to work from home more? If you are able to confide in your boss/ HR they should support you during your pregnancy and if being at home means you feel more comfortable / can get toast!!/ go to the toilet when you need to, you might find you're more effective!

Lemonyfire · 17/01/2024 20:20

@longingtobe23 welcome and congratulations!!! There is a Facebook group if you go back a few pages there should be a link :)

im also having the watery discharge and sheer panic I’m bleeding and literally checking every 30 mins

HolyMoly24 · 17/01/2024 20:22

I think the Facebook group link has expired, can someone post a new one please?

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 17/01/2024 20:35

@ForeverHopeful67 I'm reluctant to tell my bosses as they're male and very unsupportive. My line manager is a dick. I found out after I joined that until a few years ago their policy was to never hire women in their 30s because of the risk of them going on mat leave. So....I'm pretty sure if I'm upfront about it, I'll get the boot and I can’t afford it! I was about to hand in my notice this January when I found out I was pregnant!

MrsB2019x · 17/01/2024 20:48

Has anyone got any good excuses for not drinking?
Me and DH have been invited out for our friend’s birthday when I’ll be about 9 weeks… he is the type to not give a F about antibiotics and try to get shots down my throat anyway 😂 any other ideas?!

Yesss girl!! Add in some heartburn, hairy vag when we can't reach it, baby brain and sleepless restless uncomfortable nights - Bring it all on 😂💯

hol92 · 17/01/2024 20:56

Is it possible to feel sick at 4 weeks? I just ate my favourite chicken burger and it's made me feel so sick, I got horrible sickness and food aversions with my first but can't remember it starting this early! X

Will it still be January? Lots of people do something called dry January (?) - could you get away with that? I'm driving this weekend but after this one I'm scuppered for excuses too.

MrsB2019x · 17/01/2024 21:01

@MudandMoet No it’s 3rd February 😒 otherwise that would be a great shout!

MrsM89 · 17/01/2024 21:04

@MrsB2019x can you not be designated driver?

hol92 · 17/01/2024 21:08

@MrsB2019x I had this problem last time I was pregnant but o genuinely managed to pretend to drink all night haha! Made my husband have the shots and had just tonic saying it was gin, then when everyone was drunk within a few hours nobody noticed 😃😃 x

MrsB2019x · 17/01/2024 21:26

@hol92 Think that’s gonna have to be my approach!

Sydney1988 · 17/01/2024 21:35

@MrsB2019x I’ve been using the dry January excuse - and in Feb, I’m going to say that I’ve decided to stay off booze another month as I enjoyed Jan so much LOL (gives me time until I can tell people). From mid-feb, you could say you are giving up booze for lent too!

Anxiousfirstpregnancy · 17/01/2024 21:42

@hol92 i felt so sick at 4 weeks! I went off chocolate for a while then meat completely I’m now able to eat meat but still can’t do chicken and I’m 11+5! New Year’s Eve I had an Indian and I actually threw it up. Mine did pass tho I really want to love chicken again.
