Thanks for the reasurence I have had no more spotting so fingers crossed it is implantation.
This is my third pregnancy. The second ended in m/c, with that pregnancy I had really bad morning sickness (more like all day) so I do believe now that every pregnancy is different. I still would like some kind of symptom just to reasure me. I need to be patient I know but it is very dificult, when you have had a m/c.
I really enjoyed my first pregnancy. I dont think I can enjoy this one untill past the 12 week mark. Nice to have someone who is the same gestation as me. xx

Hello everyone,

Firstly - so sorry Poppy

I wondered if anyone could advise me.. I'm 16 weeks and a bit and I went to the hosp today and the mw said my fundus hadn't popped up yet and i thought it was meant to pop up already. The mw said that it could be cos I am quite tall and have a long body but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and should I be spending time worrying about it. I asked the mw if it is a problem and she said that if my scan was fine then not to worry (it was fine) but that was 4 weeks ago- could it mean the lo's not growing?? Am I just being silly?

I'm sorry for the 'me, me, me' post

jennylindinha · 30/05/2008 14:58

Hi Barbareeba, just wanted to say hello as no-one had replied to you! I don't know much about the fundus popping up but I'm sure it's different for everyone. If your mw doesn't think you need to worry then try not to...

Or, I guess you could check with another mw for their opinion, just to set your mind at rest.

Hope you're ok! x

barbareebaa · 30/05/2008 19:29

hi Jenny!

Thanks for replying - how are things going?

I tried to find info on the internet but nothing came up. Anyways I think I'll sit tight for now and see what happens over the next week or two!

have a lovely weekend x

Emmsy1 · 31/05/2008 10:44

barbareebaa sorry the mw has made you feel uneasy about your pregnancy, women at this stage (16+ weeks) can vary in size quite dramatically, and it can depend on body shape and size, try not to worry, I am pretty sure that if she was concerned about it she would have referred you for another scan. why not phone your midwife team and tell them how worried you are, I'm sure they will try to put your mind at rest, when are you due another appt?

barbareebaa · 31/05/2008 12:54

Hi Emmsy,

I think my next appointment is July 1st - 20 week scan. I'm not panicking so much now, you're totally right about women being different sizes in pregnancy and I think I'm worrying about nothing (I hope!!)

Thanks for the reassuring words though! Hope you're having a top weekend

zoerudy · 31/05/2008 16:30

Hello ladies

Had a m/c in April and conceived 2 weeks later. Am now 5 1/2 weeks and paranoid. Checking knickers regularly and having a fit every time I get a tweak or twinge. Did anyone else conceive so soon after a m/c? Not seeing GP til Wednesday. Argh!

tryingnottoobsess · 31/05/2008 16:54

hello supersteph and zoerudy and congratulations on the pregnancies!

Zoerudy, I have heard of other people on here who got pregnant that quickly, I'm sure someone will be along soon.

Supersteph, I hope your bleeding has stayed away. I bled from 4.5 - 5.5 weeks and was told it could be normal, however, I'm only 7wks at the mo, so I can't tell you the outcome, only say that I feel for you - it's horrible.

07mum, thanks for asking after me, all ok here trying to distract myself with outings, work trips, anything really on the countdown to my scan a week on Tuesday. You didn't say on your post how you are - all ok?

barbareebaa I haven't had a successful pg yet, so popping funduses are something i haven't heard of...yet , glad to hear you sound relaxed about your though.

barbareebaa · 31/05/2008 18:14

Hi tryingnottoobsess

I don't know what I'm on about really...
I hope the next week passes quickly so you can have your scan super soon. I was so worried the weeks leading up to mine and daren't look forward to it in case I jinxed it. I think it's hard to stay positive when it's gone wrong before. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Take care

07mumstheword · 01/06/2008 12:58

The worry of it all is so difficult when things have gone wrong before, I'm 20 wks today and still get paranoid that things are going to go wrong but we must stay positive so many women have had MC's and multiple MC's and eventually get their little miracles to hold in their arms, we will too

Tryingnotto I've got a scan a wk Tues aswell so fingers crossed for a happy catch up then All is fine I just can't wait for confirmation from the sonographer.

supersteph · 02/06/2008 12:57

I will be 5 weeks tomorow. No more spotting but still no smptoms of pregnancy. I keep proding my boobs and they dont feel any diferent. I did another test yesterday and the test line was sronger than the other line, surly thats a good sign. I know it sounds silly but I wish I had sickness or sore boobs. I would feel much happier than. I have been told every pregnancy is different. xx

elibumbum · 02/06/2008 15:20

Hi supersteph I'm an avid boob prodder too! I'd say a bfp is the best sign but understand why you would like some reassuring symptoms too.

I had a stomach bug yesterday and was worried it might cause me to mc. Better today but don't think I will be relaxing anytime soon!

My Dr didn't have much luck with arranging an early scan at my local EPU - they told him they might do it for me if I rang them myself at 6wks. I think I might just have a private scan at 6 wks because the EPU don't let husbands come into the v.early scan and the sonographer isn't allowed to tell you anything either. Whereas the sonographer at the private clinic was so nice when she gave me the bad news last time and if it is bad news I'd rather hear it from her IYSWIM

elibumbum · 02/06/2008 15:22

forgot to say congratulations to zoerudy - I've seen a few threads with people that conceived immediately after their mc and had successful pgs.

tryingnottoobsess · 02/06/2008 16:14

Hi Elibum, glad to hear you're feeling better - just wanted to say I was sick all night on Sat... must have been a bug or bad reaction to food, and totally convinced myself that I'd killed my baby.

From frantic googling, it looks like with the vast majority of bugs/food poisoning, as long as you stay hydrated the baby will be ok.

Still worried, (obviously it's what I do!), but knowing that has taken the edge off it at least! Good lord, my scan cannot come quick enough.

elibumbum · 02/06/2008 17:52

tryingnotto I read the same (in all 3 of my pg books!) but doesn't take much to start the worrying!

tryingnottoobsess · 03/06/2008 11:08

Morning! Hope everyone is ok and all quiet on the western front. All good here, just wanted to say hello

ohmygod, ironing tiny baby stuff for the hospital... that has made me feel all gooey... and I'm fairly retarded when it comes gooeyness (I'm assuming it'll kick in with time)!

Unlucky with the dead leg, oh well at least you have no illusions over who is going to be boss!

supersteph · 03/06/2008 14:37

The only reason I am booked for an early scan is because I was on clomid and under the fertility clinic. I am so glad to know I only have 9 more days till my scan. very very worried , but will be great to know my little pea is doing well. xx

barbareebaa · 03/06/2008 18:21

Hi all,

Jules I kept meaning to ask how sex and the city was? Is it any good? I hope you had a lovely time at your scan today.

I'm getting a bit of a belly now - I'm hoping it's pregnancy related and not just the eating for two. A colleague suggested that my belly wasn't a little baby bump as it wasn't in the right place. Fabulous. I didn't ask her what she was implying Anyway I don't care. I'm starting to feel wiggling now which is the best thing ever When it starts though is it normal to have a day pass where you don't feel anything? It hasn't been very wiggly today.

supersteph - hope the scan day comes around quickly!

hi all

seems like I've been away for ages, but it's less than a week.

Jules, I'm getting really excited for you now . Is DD breech? you mentioned feeling her feet either side of your groin....are you having a section or hoping she will turn?

We have been super busy here, getting the garden ready for DDs first birthday party! She is one on Thursday and we are having a big BBQ for family and friends. she is being soooo sweet at the moment and has adopted a bay doll who she won;'t let out of her sight. It;s really very cute

hi to superstef and zoerudy and welcome to our wee club. May your stay be long and uneventful

barbareeba if you are getting a bit of a belly now then your fundus must be on the move upwards. Some of the women on the November thread can feel it past their belly button already but for me it;s only half way and some can't feel theirs at all yet, so try not to worry. You'll be getting your 20 week scan soon anyway

all well here am now 18 weeks and can't believe how quickly it has gone. I think probably because I'm kept busy with DD.

I'll try and keep up better, I promise!

as long as you and baby are well jules, the mode of delivery doesn't really matter imo
