tryingnottoobsess · 27/05/2008 09:43

oh no, I'm so sorry Poppy

ronshar · 27/05/2008 10:11

Poppy. I am so sorry.
I second everything that Jules said.
I would make a very strong complaint to the practice manager at your GP surgery. This needs to be looked at. The GP was dismissive of something he has no knowledge of. Tosser. Sorry about my language but sometimes I want to scream.

Brilliant news goingfor3. A baby boy yipeee..

Off to my sisters today so I shall catch up on Saturday.

Hope everyone is healthy and well.

rainrain · 27/05/2008 10:18

Yes just catching up on the posts and wanted to add my congrats to Goingfor3! Fab news

elibumbum · 27/05/2008 10:28

Hello - I've been on the MC avengers thread since I had a mmc at the beginning of March. Just got a BFP so I thought I'd join some fellow knicker checkers!

I'm cautiously excited but terrified the same time. Only 4 weeks so lots of anxious weeks ahead! I'm seeing my gp tomorrow so I can organise a scan for 6wks and 8 wks.

I keep expecting to find blood and for it to be all over. I don't know why as that is not what happened last time. I got to 10wks without a hint of trouble then had a small bleed which made me go for a scan - that scan showed that the embryo hadn't developed beyond 5 wks. Had an ERPC shortly after that.

tryingnottoobsess · 27/05/2008 11:18

Hello Elliebumbum, welcome to the madhouse! Sorry to hear about your experience in March, and I wish you all the very best!

Guys, I'm looking for some reassurance... I'm 6+4, the same day I bled in my last pg, which signalled the mc.

I'm not bleeding (touch wood etc) but I'm terrified. I don't seem to have any symptoms today, and I'm so scared that it have died.

I'm wondering about arranging a private scan for later in the week, as I don't think I can face waiting 2 weeks for my next scheduled scan. We could do without spending £95, but.... aargh.

rainrain · 27/05/2008 11:28

trying i know how terrifying it can be. I have had quite a few crisis over the last 22 weeks where I have simply been convinced it is all over (all my m/c's the development stopped about 2 weeks before any bleeding).
Thing is, symptoms come and go (which doesn't help!). And also symptoms can be there when things have indeed gone wrong, so try not to use them as an indicator... I think (although steep) the money is well spent if it can give you another couple of weeks of reassurance. Stress is really bad, and won't help baby, so do whatever you need to to relax (easy to say I know!!!!)

It is always hard, i know, getting past those dates when problems occurred before. All the best anyway, do whatever you can to take your mind off it (again, easy to say I know!)

Hi ellibumbum, hope your stay is long and uneventful!!

elibumbum · 27/05/2008 11:30

Thanks for the welcome trying.

I'm sorry you are really stressed out today - can completely understand why. Can you ask about a scan at your nearest EPU? Otherwise the £95 might be worth it for your peace of mind. I hope it all goes well for you.

elibumbum · 27/05/2008 11:32

x-post there - thanks for the welcome rainrain

Thanks for the welcome justjules. Sorry to hear about your 3 m/cs.

Hope missy decides to turn soon but if section necessary it might reassure you to know that all my RL friends who have had elective sections have said they were very calm affairs and recovered very quickly.

How much longer do you have to go?

cricri · 27/05/2008 12:37

Elibumbum Welcome to the thread and congratulations on your pregnancy I had a mmc last September so I had exactly the same fears as you did early on in this pg (I'm now 17+3). I had an early scan at 7+3 which showed a hb so that was a big relief as last time I got my 12 week scan with no inkling that there was anything wrong Anyway, having the early scan this time around got me through to the 12-week scan, although I didn't allow myself to get excited about the pg until that point, and even now I'm still cautiously excited. Unfortunately mc seems to blight subsequent pgs as you can't relax. However, this thread has been great as I realised that everybody has had similar fears to me and I was able to seek reassurance when I needed it.
Trying Getting past dates where things have gone wrong is hard. I agree with the others that a scan might help, although perhaps wait a few days so that you're sure of seeing a hb. An inconclusive scan will probably make you feel worse. It's hard I know, but believe that everything is going to be OK this time around. "Healthy and well" is the mantra on this thread
Jules Hopefully Missy will turn but my RL friends who have had C-sections have also not had any problems. You've got the right attitude anyway - you just want her here, never mind how she gets here

Janus · 27/05/2008 13:03

Goingfor3, so it was a boy!! Huge congratulations to you and all your family. Tilly was back to back too, so I can sympathise! Hope you are managing to get some rest, although it is difficult if it is half term for you too!
Makecakes, congratulations to you too, hope you are all well and enjoying Cecily.
Welcome to the newbies again, you will get lots of love and support here.

DonDons · 27/05/2008 13:23

Congrats Janus Flossie and Going for 3! Lovely to hear your news - hope youa re all getting lots of sleep!

tryingnottoobsess · 27/05/2008 14:20

Thanks for the reassurance, you're right jules, just typing it out gave me a bit of respite! at missy with her head up shouting 'look at me!'

rainrain, it helps to know you've been there with the crises and come through the other side, I sometimes wonder if I'm driving myself round the bend!

cricri I think the possibility of an inconclusive scan is what's holding me back at the moment. Even the private place said they'd prefer me to be 7.5 wks+ (though they'd still do it and pocket the £95 regardless )

So it's back to waiting and trying to remember that pregnancy is normal, and that until I have evidence any other way, I am pregnant!

Great to see another knicker checkers baby from goingfor3...lovely to be reminded of the reason we all do this!

Emmsy1 · 27/05/2008 15:27

welcome elibumbum the early days are definately the worse when it comes to knicker checking! I still cant believe I am this far along (18+5) after m/c last september and the previous april. I don't worry as much as I used to about bleeding but other worries have taken there place! babies hb and movements, actually heard my baby's hb this morning for the first time, I had gone to the doc's about another issue and asked her to check the hb for me as my monitor wasn't picking it up! She advised me not to do it myself as it can cause unneccesary upset! probably will still try to do it myself though!
poppy There are some lovely girls on the M/C thread,I think you have made the right decision to join them.I will pop in and see you now and again, I hope you now get all the care and attention from the medical proffession that you so well deserve, it's just a damn shame that they had to let you down on this occassion and it's cost you the life of your baby, take care lovely ladyxx

becklespeckle · 27/05/2008 23:23

Hi Daisy! Doing well thanks, DD growing by the day! She has 2 little teeth now and is an absolute delight! How are things with you? Hope your pg is not too stressful this time, how is DD doing?

Hi also to Jules and Popsy, glad to see things are going well for you! Popsy, I couldn't find you on FB - I did look! If you want to find me I am on Makecake's friends, initials RB x

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 23:33

hi elliebumbum and welcome. healthy and well vibes to you and your bean

beckle, DD is just fab. she took her first tentative step today, then launched herself forwards into my arms. she tried again later, fell flat on her face, got a fright and cried so it might be a while before she plucks up the courage again. She is such a cutie and absolutely full of beans....and will try to climb anything in her path. she chases DS round the floor and climbs all over him squealing with delight, but when he tries to get her back she turms in the tears so he generally gets in trouble....she is a minx. Her first birthday is less than two weeks away ...where did the time go?

this PG is goung well and have had regular movements over the last few days. Definately much less stressful this time around

jules, can't believe you are almost due!

becklespeckle · 28/05/2008 00:05

Your DD does sound fab Daisy! Can't believe she is almost a year now either! PG time seems to go so slowly but once they are here it just flies by!

supersteph · 28/05/2008 15:30

Hello all I am new to this thead. I am 4 weeks pregnant and have no symptoms also last night I had pink discharge when I went to the toilet. It then went and this am I had it again. now there is nothing. Is this normal? I rang my fertility nurse and she said it could be implantation. She did not offer to scan me as she said it is too early to see anything. Any info would be great. Thanks for listening xx

07mumstheword · 28/05/2008 16:29

I've been away for a few days it's so hard to catch up I've only skim read.

Congratulations Goingfor3 wonderful to hear you have delivered your beautiful baby boy safely into the world

Poppy & Mum2Olivia I'm so so sorry to hear of your losses.

Tryingnotto How are things going for you now? I do hope you're ok.

07mumstheword · 28/05/2008 16:32

Supersteph I believe a little bleeding can be normal. I had a little spotting at 6 wks with this PG and a scan showed all was ok. I think 5-6 wks is the earliest they can scan so if it persists perhaps get your GP to refer you. All the very best.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 16:41

hi supersteph and welcome to the thread . I've had spotting at about 4-5 weeks with all my successful pregnancies (strangely enoough though not with either of the m/cs ) and it is surprisingly common. Try not to worry, but if it gets any worse or you get any pain with it then please call the local EPU and get checked out.

OP posts:
elibumbum · 28/05/2008 17:50

Hi supersteph congratulations on your pregnancy . I'm 4 wks too.

I had spotting at 4-5 wks when I was pg with DS - probably an implantation bleed. Keep expecting to see one soon but I know I will still panic IYKWIM.

Saw my GP today to tell him that I am pg. He is going to try and get me a scan at 6 wks. If he can't arrange one at the EPU I will pay for one - expensive but worth it for my sanity!

supersteph · 28/05/2008 20:10

Thank you ladys for the lovly welcome. The last bit of spotting was about 11am this am. I feel a bit more hopeful now. I also had a missed m/c last August. As I have very few symptoms I keep thinking the 4 positive tests are wrong. I have a 2 and a half year old boy that took 1 and a half years to concieve. I have pcos, so this pregnancy is thanks to clomid and metformin. I will keep you lady informed on my spotting and I am glad I have found the perfect thead to post on.
Elibumbum when is your due date? mine is begining of feb 08. What symptoms do you have at the moment? xx

elibumbum · 29/05/2008 08:47

supersteph I'm glad the spotting has stopped.

My edd is about 3-5th Feb at the moment. My symptoms are bouts of nausea, big boobs and needing to pee all the time! When I was pg with the one that mc I had really strong symptoms (stronger than the ones I had with DS) so I don't find symptoms reassuring anymore.

Every pg is different so try not to worry (I know that is easier said than done!)about lack of symptoms - they might not kick in until 6wks (or you might be lucky and not get ms at all!).I have also read that changes in boob size aren't always as noticeable after first pgs.
