Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

@Goldie1234 Im the same, will be 26 weeks on Wed and it feels like the tiredness of first trimester is starting to appear again. Have been really cheeky and have had a few naps in between meetings (I WFH).

Also really struggling with feeling full very easily, I guess its time to maybe start trying to eat smaller meals...

PurpleIsTheColour · 11/03/2024 16:25

28 weeks in couple of days and I just feel so so big! I swear that I felt like this towards the end of my previous pregnancy and not so early on.😞

My little boy is also a very active baby despite my anterior placenta and I’m pretty sure that he moved head down last night as the amount of strange movements I felt was enormous. Today I’m breathless and bump feels even bigger so I’m probably correct that he’s changed positions. I don’t want to wish away the time but my God, the due date can’t come quick enough😂

DanisEndo · 11/03/2024 17:10

Glad I’m not the only one who’s shattered ahah although I’m only 24 weeks and now I’m worried about how much sleepier I’ll get over the next few weeks 😂

we’re going to try and attempt the nursery this weekend 🤞🏻

Suchardchoccy · 12/03/2024 16:56

I'm starting to get my weird cravings back from my previous 2 pregnancies, always happen around now until I give birth!!

Goldie1234 · 13/03/2024 20:38

Oo what are you craving ? I've so far only really really really wanted fresh orange juice this pregnancy, which is fine.. needing a little vitaminc 🤷🏽‍♀️ but my previous pregnancies I really craved soap 🥰🥰🥰 ahh the laundry aisle was pure heaven. I kept a bar of soap next to my bed 🤣

Suchardchoccy · 13/03/2024 21:11

@Goldie1234 sniffing (clean) sponges, the smell of the inside of a car and chewing ice cubes. Every. Single. Time. I love the soap thing 🤣 not really had any food or drink cravings 🤔

CamdenQueen · 14/03/2024 07:39

So interesting isn’t it what we end up craving. The inside of a car is very specific 🤣

has anyone gone off food altogether? I don’t fancy anything, especially not savoury meals like my usual dinners. The only thing I really want is brekkie cereal and yoghurts.

I had my glucose test yesterday to check for diabetes and they found that I was hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) even AFTER drinking the glucose drink. She said I was in full starvation mode apparently. I thought you had to fast but apparently not 🥴 maybe that’s why I’m craving all the sugary foods

I have felt like this my entire pregnancy. The thought of basically all hot food is just quite disgusting…particularly anything that resembles a healthy meal. I have been eating a lot of sandwiches and chips 🤣 I’m a vegan and usually eat fairly well but all my usual go to meals are just unthinkable just now!

Its such a strong aversion as well. I will cook for my partner and I and then just be absolutely unable to stomach it. He can’t get his head around it cos it’s not that i feel sick, I just have very few foods which I can face. And they are all beige! 🤣

Yes! Im veggie and would usually love stir fries, pasta salads etc and can’t face any of them. I’m eating mostly snacks, no real meals unless forced to eat them when I’m in in-laws etc. even lovey restaurant or cafe food doesn’t appeal. I usually do all the cooking so my husband is feeling the pinch 😂

Goldie1234 · 14/03/2024 20:16

Oh gosh @CamdenQueen that sounds scary, what will help ?

I have definitely not gone off my food and am eating for an army !

I don’t think midwife was worried as I had fasted but she did say she rang to check I got home ok 😅 I’m just glad it’s not diabetes as I have been eating nothing but sugar

Goldie1234 · 14/03/2024 22:20

Ahhh got ya ! I had also thought you weren't meant to eat before hand 🤷🏽‍♀️

Emsie86 · 14/03/2024 22:43

Hi All,

28 weeks this week and I all of a sudden feel very pregnant!! Tired, uncomfortable in bed and suddenly on variety of medication - iron, peptac, aspirin and now clexane injections!

I am red partway because bmi and age,37, but I have never been ill, fairly active and not someone who even takes a paracetamol for a headache so this seems quite overwhelming.

Anyone else ever done these injections before or now? Didn't get a lot of info from consultant and now wishing asked more questions about the risks vs benefits!

I had to fast for 10 hours before my GTT and that was only a few weeks ago! How odd that it's different in different places!

glasshalffull0 · 16/03/2024 11:28

I'm 25 weeks (due 30th June) and it's still very inconsistent with baby movements- sometimes she wiggles all day and sometimes its very on and off and doesn't move until afternoon time, does/did anyone else have this at a similar time?

Also the ladies that are 27-29 weeks can you tell me how you feel please? I fly to Florida and back when I'll be that far along and I'm really nervous! The closer I get the more at ease I feel as I feel pretty good within myself now but I am getting noticeable more bigger and its beginning to get uncomfortable sometimes

Some days like today mine kicks a lot but some days I'm driven crazy worrying because she is very quiet I nearly went mad on Friday ended up going to bed and laying in my side to try get her to kick which did work. Cold water doesn't work for me as I'm constantly drinking ice cold water so it's her natural environment Smile

15rainbow · 16/03/2024 15:25

@Emsie86 I'm on the injections, have been since I was 5 weeks due to my history also similar age . I'm pretty used to them now but they do leave some pretty epic bruises!

@glasshalffull0 I'm 26 weeks and movements inconsistent. I've already panicked enough to end up going in for checks and everything was fine. I think some days she just sleeps more, especially when I'm busy. I've been painting the nursery today and haven't really felt much at all

Wheeeeee · 16/03/2024 18:50

Is anyone else finding most of the movements are still really low down? I'm 26 weeks and can feel the top of my uterus is above my belly button now, but mainly still feel kicks between my hip bones.

Yeah i feel like baby is really low down, right in my pelvis/pubic bone area. I’ve had to stop running as the pressure in my pelvis was too much.

I had a midwife appointment and she said the head was right down in my pubic area 🥴 I’m hoping baby floats upstream at some point!

Emsie86 · 16/03/2024 22:02

Thanks @15rainbow did some reading up and getting used to it now whatever is best for baby!!

@Wheeeeee I'm nearly 29 weeks and baby movements probably started to be more prominent above belly button in last week.

Wheeeeee · 17/03/2024 07:19

Thanks @CamdenQueen @Emsie86 🙂 my main memory of movements from last time is kicks all over, but I think that must have been later on - it's amazing how quickly you forget the details!

@CamdenQueen I'm impressed you were still running up to this point anyway! I've been firmly in the gentle walk/swim/Pilates camp for months now!

Suchardchoccy · 18/03/2024 09:34

Is anyone else really lightheaded and breathless?
I'm 26+2 and the last couple of times the midwife has checked, I've had low blood pressure. I'm slightly concerned because I know the breathlessness is going to get a lot worse than this 😳

May5th · 18/03/2024 14:44

I’m 27+1 today and I’m getting kicks still quite low down. I had a consultant appointment last week and she looked on the US and said baby is in breech which explains my kicks. She said there’s still plenty of time for baby to turn. I still don’t know whether there is a pattern or not though. When I asked the midwife she was quite vague in her answer just repeating that I should call if I notice a change. In the 25 week midwife appointment she also said they wouldn’t measure me at all because I’m due to have growth scans at 28/32/36 weeks. Is anyone else having growth scans? Mine is due to a previous loss at 14 weeks which is classed as mid term. My scans start next week, I’m quite keen to see the size because I feel absolutely huge (and super tired), with my son I don’t think I was this big even when I gave birth so not quite sure how it will be in 10+ weeks time. My son was born at 42 weeks after induction and was a big baby so I’m kind of hoping with the growth scans they’d tell me this time it would be earlier. I’ve read so many stories about others not having good induction experiences and wanting to avoid but my first one was fine so I feel like if they recommended I should be induced early I think I would okay with that (or at least that’s what I’m currently thinking). I think going into labour naturally would be the best but I’m just not sure that will happen because I didn’t have that last time. Hope everyone is having a good Monday 😊

DanisEndo · 18/03/2024 17:08

I’m at 25 weeks and agree kicks and movements still vary. Some days she’s jumping around nonstop and others just the odd wriggle.

@May5th I have growth scans booked in later in pregnancy but this is my first and I have no idea what to expect size wise. I’m still feeling relatively small to what I was expecting to by now.

@Suchardchoccy also really breathless but not head lightheadedness. I keep getting a stitch like pain in my ribs which I’m assuming is my organs having a groan or little ones elbow / foot giving me a jab.

I have my diabetes test on Friday and prayingggg it’ll be all clear cus all I want these days are sweet sweet sweet. Fruit, cookies, smoothies, gimme gimme gimme.

DemelzaRobins · 18/03/2024 20:22

I had my GTT today (had to fast got 12 hours beforehand so was seriously hangry during it). Midwife warned me the sugar drink was minging except I found it delicious. I do have a very sweet tooth though. I wasn't able to eat until lunchtime so I've been hungry all day - no amount of food seems to satisfy me.

I'm 29 weeks now and baby is only just getting into a regular pattern of movements. Before that it's been quite varied. Generally first thing and then every few hours after that. Apparently the baby is breech according to my 28 week growth scan but I get kicks high up as well as low down so perhaps he's changing position a lot (or the high up kicks are punches).
