Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

@DanisEndo congratulations! Welcome to team girl 😍

@Mountainview8 I'm 22 weeks and I think I've definitely got enough confidence now to say what's normal or not. During the week I feel her in the evenings mostly. Sometimes if I'm doing a lot of office work I'll feel her during the day but rarely. In the evening or during the day on weekends she'll go wild 🥰
Feel very lucky to be feeling her so early as she's my first and I have an anterior placenta so I was really surprised!

Suchardchoccy · 17/02/2024 11:07

This is my 3rd but I have an anterior placenta. I'm feeling her more now (I'm 22 weeks today) but I don't think I've noticed a pattern yet 🤔

Couggstar123 · 17/02/2024 11:56

I am 23 weeks with my first and have been feeling him lots since about 19 weeks. He is constantly on the move especially afternoon and at night. We had the same at our 16 and 20 week scans where he wouldn’t stop raving🤣 I was well warned by my friends I might have to have a fizzy drink/do star jumps to get him going. No fear! I wish I had half his energy as I am still absolutely knackered! He feels like an octopus on rollerskates!

glasshalffull0 · 18/02/2024 09:36

21 weeks now, it’s strange because June feels like ages away but each week creeps by very quickly!

found out at our 20 week scan we’re having a baby girl! 🥰🩷 she was trouble again like at her 12 week scan, hiding her face and lady bits!

15rainbow · 18/02/2024 09:58

22 weeks here and the first one to get this far. I'm definitely feeling her but not when I'm active. It's usually if I'm stood cooking or last thing at night when I lie down. Not strong enough for my partner to feel yet but the movements have been daily for the last week

MsNeis · 19/02/2024 15:06

@DanisEndo 😍Congratulations!!! 💐

Hi all. Wanted to share my experience, maybe someone would recognize themselves and get help as well. I started to feel really down a week ago - like crying for hours over very little things, not being able to fall asleep, feeling sad all the time, having bad thoughts and dreams, being very very anxious over little things. Like my husband got home 30 mins later than he said he would and I cried like for a full hour feeling betrayed. Went to my GP today - she said it can happen due to hormones shifting and it’s not just normal mood swings and I was right to seek help. She recommended some coping techniques and referred me to a perinatal mental health clinic where they will see me until and after delivery to make sure a possible PND isn’t missed. Take care of yourself ladies, it’s so so important now…

DanisEndo · 20/02/2024 10:56

@Ad12345678 well done for seeking help and thank you for sharing ♥️ really hope the coping mechanisms help and you feel more yourself soon x

Suchardchoccy · 20/02/2024 11:10

@Ad12345678 well done you and thank you for sharing with us. I hope you feel better soon 💓

How is everyone? I'm having anxiety about giving birth

DanisEndo · 20/02/2024 11:27

@Suchardchoccy that’s understandable! I’ve been doing a hypnobirthing course online from the positive birth company which I’ve found really reassuring. Have you got anything like that which could help?

I’ve mostly felt fine but did have a little wobble yesterday at how much there is to do before I’m big and wobbly and then she’s here. 😮‍💨 OH was amazing, calmed me down and said today we’ll sit down and make a plan for attack.

Suchardchoccy · 20/02/2024 12:11

@DanisEndo yes I've been meaning to watch more videos on YouTube but it's finding the time to do that 😩

Sometimes that's what you need, well I do anyway 😅 yes getting stuff done before you're huge is a good idea!!

DanisEndo · 20/02/2024 13:48

@Suchardchoccy it does feel hard squeezing the time in. Some weeks I’m on it and watch loads then others I go a few weeks in a row without doing anything.

Oh yeah me to ahah

Wheeeeee · 20/02/2024 17:25

I'm oscillating between 'I've done it once before and it'll be fine' and 'I've done it once before and why the fuck am I doing it again?!' 😅

Suchardchoccy · 20/02/2024 21:01

@DanisEndo at least we still have a while to go 😭

Suchardchoccy · 20/02/2024 21:02

@Wheeeeee literally me 🤣

Emsie86 · 21/02/2024 21:20

Hi everyone, 37 and first pregnancy, feeling her moving at night mostly, pretty sure she is going to be a karate master with how much she kicks about sometimes!!

Not the most maternal of people but this last week I've actually started getting excited and buying things and planning nursery.

Seems like second trimester has flown by! Wishing you all well ☺️

MsNeis · 23/02/2024 15:10

Welcome, @Emsie86, and congratulations!! 🤗💐

Thriving30 · 24/02/2024 08:24

Is everyone managing to do their pelvic floor exercises? Please can someone tell me how many repetitions I'm supposed to do and how many times a day?

I have a reminder in my phone every single day and so far I’ve been dreadful at doing them! I’ve just been using 10 min YouTube videos when I remember which I find less boring then constant keggling

Wheeeeee · 24/02/2024 17:03

I use the NHS squeezy app as a guide/reminder.

Mountainview8 · 24/02/2024 17:19

@Thriving30 I have a reminder on my phone for 4 times a day, but don't always do it. I think you're meant to aim for 8-10 reps.

DanisEndo · 26/02/2024 20:34

I’m starting a baby list on Amazon to start chipping away at and to send for our shower (so we don’t end up with random bits we don’t need or duplicates).

any must haves / recommendations?

oop · 27/02/2024 07:33

Sorry haven't posted in ages, how is everyone doing?
@Thriving30 I didn't do them when pregnant last time but definitely feeling the difference this time so doing them three times a day. I use the squeezy app and doing 5 repetitions of the long ones and 10 smalls each time.

@DanisEndo really recommend a baby bath you can use hands free so one with an inbuilt seat thing, lots of muslins (we use them for absolutely everything) and a frida baby nosefrida for their first cold! Oh and a bouncer. We had an affordable fisher price one and it was all my first would lie/sleep in during the day for months.

@oop thank you that’s helpful!

Suchardchoccy · 27/02/2024 14:24

@DanisEndo I second the baby bath with seat/baby bath support for regular bath!
