Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

@15rainbow hope you've started to feel flutters again ?

15rainbow · 27/01/2024 23:28

@Goldie1234
I thought I felt something at work earlier but it's stopped again now. Hopefully that's a good sign though. Thanks for asking

Goldie1234 · 28/01/2024 09:55

Fingers crossed it was ! It's so hard to tell at first. Absolutely no harm in calling the midwife (ha) for them to have a listen for the heartbeat, if it would put your mind at ease.
A colleague at work has just lent me her doppler, in loving it !

Couggstar123 · 28/01/2024 13:04

@15rainbow I definitely had days where I felt him move and then could go a few days with nothing. I was driving myself slightly mad over thinking it but they say it’s totally normal before I think 23 weeks for movement to be intermittent like that! Mine is having a lazy day again today after being a mad raver all of night! 🤣

15rainbow · 29/01/2024 10:54

@Goldie1234 thank you. I'd love a doppler but my partner has put his foot down 😂 I did hear the heartbeat around 10 days ago
@Couggstar123 glad it's not just me driving myself mad. I haven't felt anything at night yet and nothing so far today. I think I panic because I'm still getting the spotting so assume the worst! 20 week scan 1 week today and I'm counting down!

Faithincats · 31/01/2024 07:33

So nice to hear about other babies wriggling around in there 😄

I'm 21 weeks today, and after a couple of days of feeling things I thought were something, in the early hours this morning I definitely felt a distinct boof, boof! Had my hand on my belly and I swear I could feel it in the outside as well. Just hoping for more, now, but I know I might have to be patient 🙏

Couggstar123 · 31/01/2024 08:34

@15rainbow your scan will be here so soon and it’s brilliant to see them on the move! I kept reminding myself after my 16 week scan that I could see he was so active (literally kicking me the whole time with his froggy legs) and I could feel absolutely nothing! It kind of kept me sane knowing he was moving, I just couldn’t feel him yet! Hope you get a good kick soon 🤣🤣

@Faithincats I wasn’t sure it was real movement until I could feel it with my hand! And pretty soon after that I could see him wriggling about! I was defo very early tho, I think 21 weeks is much more ‘normal’ for feeling first movements! Hopefully your little one is a wiggly worm like mine and you feel the moving more and more now! 🤍

Hotmalibu94 · 31/01/2024 11:26

@Faithincats @Couggstar123 I've been having what felt like muscle twitches on my right hand side which started around a week or so ago and has built up in frequency, now feeling it quite a lot every night 🥰 when I had my scan on Monday they said placenta is on the front and more left so that's matching up with me feeling bun on my right 🥰

Suchardchoccy · 31/01/2024 12:15

I've just had my 20 week scan, it was very long! Which I'm not complaining about. She was moving loads and opening and closing her mouth 😅 my placenta is at the front, which I had a feeling it was, but it's high so maybe I will feel movements more lower down

Calypso0 · 31/01/2024 12:50

Hi everyone,
This is amazing, to read everyone’s experiences old and past.
I'm 21+5 weeks pregnant, and I feel well, the only thing that bothers me now is leg cramps, they are the ones that wake me up.
I've got a front placenta which I heard is ok and I do feel the baby moving. Not strong but still feels it, especially when he is sitting on the lower side as I find it hard to get up.
I had my scan last week and we found out it is A BOY, wonderful news, we are scheduled for a non-routine scan as they could not see his full face and the whole heart chambers. Overall, I just want to say that I enjoy this pregnancy as it’s my first one and very much wanted a baby. will keep reading your stories and shares and will keep posted.

Have a lovely pregnancy

MizzMarple · 31/01/2024 17:35

Congratulations on your scans everyone!
I’m 19+2 and for the last couple have felt the baby move properly which is nice. Just wish I wasn’t still being sick!

15rainbow · 31/01/2024 17:48

I love reading all your updates. I've started to get what feels like muscle twitches on my right side, I'm hoping that's the baby but it's still very infrequent. At my 12 week scan I was told my placenta was at the back so was hoping I'd feel more. I don't think I'd be as worried if it wasn't for the bleeding. 19+4 now and 5 more sleeps until the scan!

Couggstar123 · 31/01/2024 17:52

@15rainbow it definitely feels a lot like little spasms at first and mine are often low down in the right side. Defo sounds like the start of movements! I keep getting what feels like bladder spasms which is not pleasant but think he’s quite low down and just loves to kick my bladder 🤣 I’m hoping he moves up soon cos my bump is low and I have so much pressure in my lower abdomen! The prolapse fear is real! 😱

Sounds exactly like mine! Started probably early on in 19 weeks and ramped up around 20 weeks 🥰 now feel her nightly moving around. Talked to the sonographer and she said it most likely was bub and backed up by my placenta being on the front but more left sided which is why I only feel her on the right :)

Hotmalibu94 · 31/01/2024 19:50

But my first twitch was literally one and then nothing for like two days so it wasn't frequent at all initially!

Thriving30 · 01/02/2024 20:15

I'm almost 19 weeks and had some strange fluttery/swirly/tickly sensations today but quite low down! Googled and it said baby could have been resting on my cervix?
I do have anterior placenta so maybe that's why the sensations weren't where I'd thought they'd be!
First potential movement I've had so far so I hope it was my baby 😊

oop · 01/02/2024 20:25

So exciting to hear about all the first flutters! I'm 23 weeks now and really starting to feel them regularly and with much more strength. It's so weird having an anterior placenta this time!

I'm 19 weeks today and slightly envious of everyone who has already had their 20 week scan. Mine won't be until I am 20+6, too! I feel a bit apprehensive for that scan (history of loss, so these big milestones always make me feel a bit on edge), but I am also excited to get to see the baby again.

15rainbow · 02/02/2024 11:03

@VJ88 I'm in the same boat as you, envious of those that have had scans and have been feeling kicks. I'm 19+6 and my scan is next week. I have a long history (15 years) of infertility and miscarriage, this is the first baby I've carried past 5 weeks. I hope your scan comes round quickly for you and all is well! Are you planning to find out the gender?

VJ88 · 02/02/2024 11:11

@15rainbow I hope your scan next week goes well and that we are both feeling baby kick quite soon!

I am fairly confident we already know the gender. Because of my history we have scans every 4 weeks (plus I freaked myself out 2 weeks ago and went off to a&e over something that turned out to be absolutely nothing and got an extra scan to calm me down). I took the opportunity to cheekily ask the sonographer, and two separate sonographers said they thought it is a boy. But who knows, we might get a surprise in 2 weeks' time! Are you planning to find out?

Wheeeeee · 03/02/2024 07:42

I had my 20 week scan this week and all looks good, phew. Baby was VERY active, to the extent that the sonographer had difficulty getting all the images!

Hotmalibu94 · 03/02/2024 08:01

@Wheeeeee glad it went well! We had the opposite problem 😂 she was squished up with her nose pressed into her knees and wouldn't move. Amazed the sonographer got all the images she needed 😂

15rainbow · 05/02/2024 09:58

Have just had my 20 week scan. Everything is wonderfully and amazingly normal. We found out that we are having a girl 💖 I hope all goes just as well for anyone else having scans soon x

babyp2024 · 05/02/2024 11:29

Hi girls, I am now 21+2 and requested my matb1 form last Monday (29th Jan) after my 20 week scan but as I don't have a set midwife my care has been a total mess from the beginning, I have still not received the form - I emailed GP and they said they can't access it as it is on a different system. I need the form to officially sort out work plans. AHHHH.
We also just applied to a nursery for baby boy to go from March 2025! Absolutely nuts but waiting lists are so long! :(

GeeinItLaldyX · 05/02/2024 14:25

Has anyone started to feel first-trimester levels of tiredness again? I am 20+5 and feeling knackered again. Have been managing to keep up exercising so far (peloton and weights) but feel like im starting to have to slow down already. Thought I could at least make it to the third trimester!

Also have found in the last week or so the aches and sore lower back have started to appear particularly on long dog walks and sleeping (I do have a prego pillow I just cant seem to master it 😂)
