Thought I'd make a new thread before the old one filled up completely.

Into the second trimester and beyond 😊

I definitely started snoring badly in my previous pregnancy. For me it started in the second trimester as I developed pregnancy rhinitis (who knew that was a thing?!). It stopped once I'd given birth. So far I haven't in this pregnancy but there's still time! I think it's quite common in the third trimester as well simply because of the weight gain.

Hi all, I’m 15 weeks today and wondering if anyone else is needing to pee a lot? I’m up 2-3 times a night and the most frustrating thing is I’m not even passing much urine at all. It’s not painful so I don’t think it’s a UTI but wondering do I need to go to the GP or if this is normal?? My sleep is terrible as a result 😣

VJ88 · 05/01/2024 12:51

Hi @CamdenQueen My due date was brought forward a couple of days at my dating scan, so I am now 15 weeks today, too!

I have been exactly the same - I need to pee a lot but when I do go, not much happens. I've been wondering about contacting my midwife to ask about it as well.

CamdenQueen · 05/01/2024 13:10

Aw we’re due date twins!

Oh interesting good to know I’m not the only one. It’s soo annoying especially at night. i really didn’t expect it until later when the baby is bigger. Dont know how I’ll put up with this for the next 6 months 🫠

I’ve my whooping cough vaccine in the next week or two so was going to see if I can hold off and ask my GP then.

Goldie1234 · 05/01/2024 13:27

@LavenderJoy yes I had that pregnancy rhinitis too terribly in 1st trimester. It might have been making me snore haha I didn't notice and my partner didn't say he did... but it really was stopping me sleeping my nose was sooo inflammed. Luckily it has calmed down, but I am susceptible to sinus infections etc.

Also weeing all the ruddy time.. its driving me crazy, even said to my little girl i wished humans didn't have to waste time going to the toilet lol. I also piss myself everytime I sneeze !! Thank god we can't go trampolining at the moment haha I'm doing pelvic floors constantly !!!

VJ88 · 05/01/2024 15:36

@CamdenQueen I'm seeing the midwife again in a little under 2 weeks so I was also going to ask her about it when I see her (they'll do a urine test then anyway, I am sure). Unless I start having any other UTI signs in addition, I think waiting is what I'll be doing.

oop · 05/01/2024 16:23

Anyone else got their 20week scan soon? Mine is next week and I'm so excited for it (with a dose of nerves of course).

@oop mines on the 15th, so a week Monday! Going to ask the sex as we’ve kind of forgotten about it up until now 😂 hoping everything is okay with baba as well obviously!

Suchardchoccy · 05/01/2024 16:38

@oop i've got mine on 31st Jan!

PurpleIsTheColour · 05/01/2024 17:50

Mine is on the 18th and I can’t wait to see our little boy again🥰 I’ve been feeling movements for a while now and the last week or so it’s every day so I finally feel properly pregnant.
I went through my daughters baby clothes to pick the ones I can use this time round but it’s pretty much all pink so I did some online shopping over Christmas and got a lot of 0-3 and 3-6 months😊 I’ve kept all big things like next 2 me, buggy and car seat from my DD so at least we don’t have to buy them this time.

oop · 05/01/2024 17:55

Ahh so exciting. We're going to find out the sex too. I've been feeling movements but not consistent yet, not feeling them every day for example.

I feel soooo pregnant already i.e. uncomfortable bump and short of breath climbing stairs etc. I'm sure I was further on before I felt like this last time 🙈

I'm due on the 30th so I don't have my 20 week scan until mid February! I would find out earlier but my partner thinks its pointless so I'm happy to wait. 5 weeks feels like a very long time!

Does anyone have feelings on what they think the baby is? Everyone I know including parents, friends, partner and myself are so sure its a girl. I'll be very (but happily) shocked if its a boy!

May5th · 05/01/2024 21:16

Hi all, I’m new to this thread and due 16 June. I have an 11 year old son and then I’ve had 4 consecutive miscarriages over the last 3 years (14 wks, and then 3 which were all 7-9 wks), I’m 39 now. I’ve had various tests but they haven’t been able to find anything with the miscarriages. With this pregnancy I finally had the recurrent miscarriage clinic and after an early reassurance scan at 7 weeks I was put on 800 mg progesterone which I genuinely think has made the difference (plus aspirin from 10 weeks), I just finished progesterone this week.

I had a dating scan at 12 wks which was all fine and combined screening came back low chance. It’s been really difficult to relax (or even joining this thread I’ve thought about many weeks in case somehow I’d jinx it, I know it’s silly but after so many losses you overthink everything!). Otherwise this pregnancy has felt okay but every single pain or odd feeling kind of makes you doubt again. I had one bleed at 12w4 but got scanned at EPU next day and it was a subchronic heamatoma they didn’t seem too worried about (although I was anything but) and baby was fine on the scan.

Today I had my 16 wk (16w5) midwife appointment and baby’s heartbeat was strong, everything seems fine so I think I’m slowly starting to believe it will work out. Next week I have a consultant appointment so I hope they will do a scan, waiting for the 20 wk scan feels like an eternity, mine is not until end of Jan.

oop · 05/01/2024 22:13

Welcome @May5th . It's so hard to relax after losses, I totally understand. Congratulations though, sounds like it's all going great this time!

I've had to repeatedly remind myself in this pregnancy that I can't jinx it by being happy or allowing myself to hope as it does feel that way sometimes.

@glasshalffull0 we're thinking it's a boy but not sure if that's just because our first was a boy so that's my only experience!

bravinglife · 06/01/2024 06:38

Welcome and congratulations @May5th , so sorry to hear about your losses- it’s understandable that your heart is guarded. Extra reassurance scans definitely helped me to get through my successful pregnancy but the worry was often there in the background. I hope you can find a way to relax into it and allow yourself to experience the joy…a midwife once told me ‘There is nothing wrong until we tell you there is!’.
I can’t wait to be able to feel movements though, I’m due the day after you on 17th June 😊 hoping I get to hear a nice strong heartbeat when I see the midwife this week too!

bravinglife · 06/01/2024 06:46

Anyone else has issues with sciatica during pregnancy? Started as short electric shock feeling spasms down one side of my butt/ thigh but I completely ceased up the other day and couldn’t move freely for hours, it was scary. Luckily my husband was home to help me get about and look after our toddler. Any tips appreciated- the spasms seem to be triggered by bending and twisting so even going to the toilet is a challenge 😳

VJ88 · 06/01/2024 08:01

Hi @May5th , I'm a loss parent too (2 early miscarriages and one third trimester loss, all with no identifiable cause). It's so hard to feel relaxed in this pregnancy but I'm glad to read that as things progress you're starting to believe. I hope things continue to go smoothly for you. I keep worrying about jinxing things but a friend of mine pointed out that we always seem to think we can jinx/control things for the negative but never for the positive, so I'm trying to manifest/visualize positive things now instead!

I just finished progesterone too and will have my next scan in a couple of weeks when I'll be 16+5. Looking forward to it and hoping I'll start feeling movement fairly soon as I think that'll be really reassuring.

May5th · 06/01/2024 10:30

Thanks all for your positive messages 😊 I am feeling happier as the weeks go on and it feels good, even starting to look at baby stuff online! I haven’t felt any movement yet either but midwife said it’s individual and sometimes may not feel until much later 20 weeks onwards - but I’m looking forward to that as it will definitely be another reassurance instead of counting the days until the next scan, midwife appointment etc.

On a separate note, has anyone been suffering from insomnia? I’m normally a good sleeper but over the last few nights I keep waking up at 2am or 4am and then can’t get back to sleep. Mine started now I finished progesterone, I’m not sure if coming off has side effects so could be a coincidence too!

@bravinglife I haven’t had sciatica but a couple of weeks ago I had quite a lot of round ligament pain and every time I moved it was painful but it stopped after a few days. I see lots of online advertising about those pregnancy pillows, I haven’t got one but I wonder if that would help?

Wheeeeee · 06/01/2024 10:34

Anyone else still being sick? I just threw up my breakfast and I'm feeling quite disheartened - was really hoping by 16 weeks it would have stopped!

MizzMarple · 06/01/2024 10:43

Me! Mine’s getting worse too. I was so sick yesterday I thought I might have to go to hospital as I couldn’t keep any liquids now but I seem better today. I’m so fed up with it.

Mumormummy · 06/01/2024 14:01

I’m still being sick and feeling so rough. Today seems to be a particularly bad day, I’m really not enjoying pregnancy so far. I’m 15+3 today, I thought I’d be ok by now 😩 x

Faithincats · 08/01/2024 11:10

Is anyone feeling flutters yet? I'm coming up to 18 weeks, feeling very un-pregnant which is quite disconcerting after previous losses, but I had what felt like a buzzing/vibration sensation this morning. Only for <10 seconds, but I'm wondering if it might be the start of something...

On the other hand, it could be nothing - especially as, from what I've read, 18 weeks is quite early to feel anything with a first baby. The joys of pregnancy uncertainty, eh! 🙈

Hotmalibu94 · 08/01/2024 11:18

@Faithincats not felt anything here really, it's my first too. My midwife said I'd be more likely to feel stuff from 18-20 weeks roughly so I'm paying attention but not getting too worried yet :) 17 weeks tomorrow!

Stephy1024 · 08/01/2024 11:21

@Faithincats I can feel my little girl at times. I'm 19 weeks but this is my 3rd so I know what I'm expecting. My placenta is at the front this time so it's masking her movements a little. With my other kids I felt movements around 16 weeks. But every pregnancy is different. We will all be feeling those movements constantly soon 🥰.

Suchardchoccy · 08/01/2024 12:46

I'm feeling the odd flutter which I'm very sure is her. I'm only 16+2 but it's my third. No idea where my placenta is but I'll find out on my 20 week scan
