Those using the wonder weeks app, did you use your due date or baby’s DOB?

I’m sure I used my daughters DOB with the app last time as it matched with the leaps better than her due date, but the app recommends due date?

I have DS’s DOB in the app now, but I’m not sure whether to switch it back to his due date? He was born at 38 weeks exactly, DD was born at 38+3.

GreenAventurinee · 06/12/2023 11:55

Are you still taking babies for walks given the temperature? I am but my mum is saying it’s far too cold. 3 degrees here in wales. Obviously I’m making sure she is warm in her pram, but it’s got me thinking.

JoyApple · 06/12/2023 13:05

I was about to purchase the wonder weeks app but the reviews seems to suggest it's awful since the new update? Anyone have any other app or book or even website they would recommend please?

JD90 · 06/12/2023 13:24

@GreenAventurinee maybe send your mum an article about how in Norway etc they leave babies outside in subzero wrapped up in prams to nap and see if she faints? 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

PinkPlantCase · 06/12/2023 13:36

@GreenAventurinee we haven’t been for many walks yet as little one is only just over a week old but for her first walk outside it was 0.5 degrees! She was well bundled up.

Baby in a sling under your coat and a big jumper would be your best bet if you were really worried about temperature.

@BabyBabyBaby123 we used due date and for this baby and DS in 2021 both were around a week late, it was generally close enough 🙂

JoyApple · 06/12/2023 13:50

Anyone's baby is leaking from nappy? Since I started giving a bit of water (LO is formula fed and 6 weeks) we've had leaks. Maybe it is time to go up a size? I am not sure as her weight is still small but she is very tall.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 06/12/2023 14:23

Still no baby here! Second sweep didn't happen - that midwife couldn't find my cervix and said it was closed despite another midwife saying 2cm dilated last week!

Another assessment today and 2cm and 70% effaced so I'll be induced whenever there is room by breaking my waters. Hopefully have a baby by end of the week!

PinkPlantCase · 06/12/2023 17:45

@JoyApple maybe try a different brand if you don’t think she’s ready for a bigger size.

Baby was weighed today, shes 10 days old and only has 30g left to go and she’ll be back at birth weight 😊 it was lovely to see the midwife I’ve had the whole way through only this time with a baby!

Hope all goes well @FlyingHighFlyingLow are they keeping you in until they have space or will you get a call? You never know, things could still start on their own.

Crazybrowncow · 06/12/2023 19:41

In case it's helpful to others, I went to the GP as I still have a bit of infection in my c section scar. As well as antibiotics and swabs, they recommended looking at 'the360mama' on instagram fir section recovery. hope everyone is doing ok. x

Mrsrobinsonx · 06/12/2023 20:56

@GreenAventurinee I take baby girl on the school run every day in her pram/sling and the mornings have been completely frozen at 8am but had to be done. Wrap baby up warm and they will be fine. 😊

my little one is finally back to birth weight today, just! It’s taken 3 weeks but she’s doing great. Hope everyone is doing ok! X

Katiec1 · 06/12/2023 21:47

A quick update with the lumps under my section scar…

I had a gut feeling this morning something wasn’t right with the lumps under the section, especially as one of them was a little bruised.
I decided to go into the emergency department in the maternity hospital for a quick look over. Turns out my temp was high, lumps are something called hematoma and I have an infection 😩 currently on bed rest in hospital and looking like I’ll be here for a couple of days.
the joys 😩😩😩

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 06/12/2023 21:50

@PinkPlantCase home awaiting a call. At least I can sleep in my own bed while I wait. Fingers crossed starts itself anyway but not holding out hope as still no twinges!

Hope everyones C-section scars heal up, sorry it sounds like they're causing bother!

LeeanneD11 · 06/12/2023 23:25

Is there mummas out there with a lactose intolerant baby 😭😭 xx

LeeanneD11 · 06/12/2023 23:26

@Mrsrobinsonx
My little one had too finally put a little bit of weight on after 3 weeks too xx

Nov2023 · 07/12/2023 05:48

@Katiec1 oh no! sorry to hear about your hospital stay. I hope a few days will sort you out. We are still in hospital and it is hard not to be home. Hoping they sort you soon and you feel better quickly

Crazybrowncow · 07/12/2023 06:46

@Katiec1 hopefully it clears up quickly and you can knock it on the head. I feel pretty fed up that I'm on a second course of antibiotics and fear it may drag on longer. 🤞🏼 we're both healed soon!

WriMum22 · 07/12/2023 06:46

@LeeanneD11 we have had a diagnosis this week for CMPA. She’s been prescribed SMA Althera milk, but I’ll be honest I haven’t started her on it yet as read bad stories online about babies refusing to drink it because it tastes terrible and so they have then plummeted down the centiles with weight loss. She’s gaining weight lovely and plenty of wet and dirty nappies, she never cries and doesn’t appear to be in any kind of pain, her only symptoms are lots of wind, occasional projectile vomit and a little eczema rash on her face which has actually disappeared since I began to use Aveeno baby. She’s started on gaviscon yesterday as clearly has reflux so I think I’m preying this solves all the problems so I don’t have to touch the SMA milk.

JoyApple · 07/12/2023 07:47

@WriMum22 fingers crossed for you. If you ever need to use it, and baby doesn't like it, a drop of vanilla extract seems to help. I'm surprised they've diagnosed so quickly based on just those symptoms. Usually there's also mucus/blood in stools and baby being unsettled.

JoyApple · 07/12/2023 07:49

@LeeanneD11 how did you get a diagnosis? colief is supposed to help to breakdown the lactose.

WriMum22 · 07/12/2023 07:56

@JoyApple we took her to the GP as she broke out in a rash all over her face and upper body. They sent us to hospital for checks and they said it was a viral infection. Almost two weeks after this the rash was still there and she was displaying signs of reflux. I’m very familiar with reflux as we went on that journey with my son, so I really wanted to have her seen so we could start managing it asap. The doctor said she agreed she had reflux but that she also feels she could potentially have CMPA, she stated the rash being the one symptom standing out to her but also the projectile vomiting and the fact she’s had a congested nose for almost two weeks and constantly grunts. I’m 50/50 on whether I agree or not, I think there could be some kind of small intolerance there but I’m hoping it’s just the milk itself, as in cow and gate doesn’t agree with her so change to a different milk. I’m not at that point yet where I fully agree it is CMPA hence the reluctance to cause her unnecessary upset with bad tasting milk. The doctor wants to trial her for 4 weeks on the SMA Althera and I know doing this will confirm or rule out but I just don’t think it’s fair to play with her milk unless she was showing clear signs of being in pain. I’ve started the gaviscon yesterday and she seems more settled so fingers crossed.

WriMum22 · 07/12/2023 07:58

@JoyApple i tried colief and I was so impressed, it really worked for her and stopped the grunting and allowed her to take more than 2 ounce of milk without wriggling. The only problem was it very quickly started to come out the other end and I was changing dirty nappies every 15 mins, she also had terrible wind and it was terrible before so this was on a different level! She just couldn’t stay still with it, so I very quickly stopped giving it her

Katiec1 · 07/12/2023 08:06

@Crazybrowncow ah you poor thing! Hopefully this round of meds will clear it for you, keeping all fingers crossed for you!
My only fear is surgery (sounds crazy after having undergone a section) but anything under GA and I’m a bag of nerves, so I’m hoping and praying the meds, and bed rest will help 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thanks @Nov2023 hope you’re doing ok and recovering well enough too 🤞🏼

Edited

I had the same problem with my little one, was on cow & gate at first but was constantly sick so changed to apitamil and was sick throwing up, so I thought it could of been reflux , the milk or lactose. My daughter had it 5 years ago and luckily grew out of it . But he was in so much pain , very unsettled after every feed it was horrible , we are on nutramigen the smelly milk xx

My gp, we are on a trail for 2 weeks . I just explained the symptoms to him. My little one was so unsettled after every feed and would take him over an hour to sleep cause he was so unsettled xx

WriMum22 · 07/12/2023 10:24

@LeeanneD11 i have read online that Aptamil is basically cow and gate as they are made in the same factory by the same company. I’m thinking of moving over to either Hipp Organic or Kendamil as I’ve read that both are slightly gentler on the tummy. My little girl isn’t throwing up after every feed it’s maybe twice a day and she doesn’t cry in pain, just grunts and wriggles which I think is due to the wind as she gets so windy even when bringing lots back up. I’m willing to try everything to try and find a way of making her more comfortable but I want to start with the methods that are most likely to fix the actual cause and then work down so the SMA Althera milk is bottom of my list at the moment, it’s her rash making the GP think it’s an allergy but it could just be simple eczema. We shall see, if she starts in pain at any point then I’ll switch right away
