@Pinkstuffs thank you! I can relax about getting it done so 😀

ASGIRC · 23/10/2023 18:33

@Ek21 my hair is blue and I bleached my roots and re coloured it last week. Its fine.
The truth is, there is no data on it. They tend to say to avoid during 1st trimester, but that is based on a "since there is no placenta yet, maybe hold off, as we have no idea whether is can be fine or not".

Cora24601 · 23/10/2023 22:08

I had my 16 week appt a week ago and it was 10 mins long, checked my urine sample, went through some basic questions (I had already had an answered in my booking appt) and was sent on my way. It was really underwhelming, no heartbeat check, they didn’t even weigh me. I think it massively depends on hospital/area. On the plus side it was so quick I didn’t even have to pay for parking as was under the 40 mins!

Hopefulfirstround · 24/10/2023 08:15

You just have to tell your hairdresser you’re pregnant . I think some of the toners can’t be used .

BVIre · 24/10/2023 08:44

Thanks so much @sweetdreams23 & @Cora24601 thats perfect, I thought from my wee booklet they gave me that it wouldn’t be super detailed but then just didn’t know what they would be doing! But that’s helpful ty!

Marking my place on the new thread.
I'm 14+3 today. First baby.
12 week scan was all okay.
Very minimal symptoms which makes me slightly nervous but I have been dizzy over the last week or so and I don't really have a bump at all although some of my trousers are too tight on the waist.

inquisitiveinga · 24/10/2023 09:23

Hopping on! 13 +4 and still very sick with HG to reply to others still suffering with the horrible sickness

Iamcatmum · 24/10/2023 17:37

Hi everyone - rejoining on this new thread too. 12 week scan went well and due April 25th. Currently 13+5 and nausea still very much present - hoping it starts to wear off soon

Pinkstuffs · 24/10/2023 17:43

@Iamcatmum I’m due the same day and also still feeling sick!

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 24/10/2023 17:45

I'm not due in April 24, but this thread gave me a great wave of nostalgia. I was on the April 13 thread and those babies are now 10 years old. About 100 from our group on here moved onto FB and lasting friendships have been made (and holiday taken together). I hope your journey and group is as good as ours. :).

Poppins2016 · 24/10/2023 18:21

@ZeroFucksGivenToday congratulations on your ten year anniversary of motherhood! That's amazing that some of you are still in touch, how lovely, thank you for sharing! 🥰

P.s. I understand the nostalgia... I feel like that when I see September due date threads (both of my previous children were due in September, although one was born in October)!

Iamcatmum · 24/10/2023 20:58

@Pinkstuffs aw yay due date buddies! Hopefully the sickness clears up for us both soon 😊

CinderRosie · 24/10/2023 21:30

Hey everyone. I’m 14+5 today and can’t believe how fast time is going now compared to the first trimester! My nausea has gone but I’m still randomly gagging most days, normally in the morning. It’s so weird.

Ttcmumma · 24/10/2023 21:58

Had my last consultant appointment today as they're happy with me and no longer need to be under their care but had the sweetest doctor who decided to Doppler as I'm 16+1. Was so lovely for the extra reassurance, baby was running away from the Doppler tho 🤣

MumDaisy1980 · 25/10/2023 03:04

I’m due 8th April. 16weeks. Relief to hear heartbeats today at midwife. Because I did not have obvious weight gain for 2weeks. Midwife said it’s normal, only abnormal weight change in short time is not OK. Little bump. Started wear maternity tights and legging. I bought them from calzedonia. :)

Ttcmumma · 25/10/2023 06:19

@MumDaisy1980 I'm due 8th April too and midwife actually commented how small my belly still is compared to everyone else she saw that day. She said it's fine too, I'm just lucky lol. With my son my bump measured behind every single time, but his scans always showed him to be big. They clearly just tuck themselves away! I've also not actually gained any weight this pregnancy even though my belly and breasts are clearly bigger. Doesn't seem to be an issue 😊

MumDaisy1980 · 25/10/2023 07:34

@Ttcmumma 😃what a coincident! Thanks for sharing and it gave some comfort.

CB23CB · 25/10/2023 08:00

So lovely to pop back on and read everyone's messages!
I'm 15 weeks today, got my next midwife appointment the end of next week.
Still really varied symptoms. Nausea, tiredness, lack of appetite still!!!! One day soon I hope to eat a roast dinner, that's the dream right now!!

BVIre · 26/10/2023 09:58

Had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything went well- even got to hear the heartbeat so lovely!

I wasn’t really that tired in the first trimester but am absolutely shattered now! Can’t tell whether that’s pregnancy or the fact that I have a stinking cold 🤢

SummerOak · 26/10/2023 10:50

Had my 16 week appointment today, got to hear the heartbeat, which was so lovely 😊 the whole appointment lasted about 30 minutes, she just explained what I can expect next regarding appointments and scans, took my urine and blood pressure and went through any questions that I had.

Mrsttcno1 · 26/10/2023 14:43

Just found this new thread! I’m now 14+5 and also can’t believe how much faster time is going now than in the first trimester! Planning on having a private scan to find out the gender in a couple of weeks because we have family who live overseas coming to visit that weekend, so think it might be a nice thing to all share! X

SummerOak · 26/10/2023 17:40

@Mrsttcno1 that's so exciting and nice that's you'll be able to share it with the family in person.

ZB86 · 26/10/2023 17:42

Hi everyone, I'm due 17th April after a missed miscarriage last year. 15 weeks today and other than being tired and hungry which are normal for me anyway I haven't had any symptoms. I have put weight on but I've also been eating lots of stodgy food. I have my 16 week midwife appt next week but I am not expecting she will attempt trying to find the heartbeat and I won't put any pressure on her to do so though I'm secretly hoping she does. Just wondering if anyone has been affected by hearing about Rebecca Adlington? I think I will be on the ceiling til the 20 week scan. Personally I would like to have an extra private scan though my partner thinks this would only reassure me for 5 minutes which may be accurate. Would be grateful for anyone's views.

Butterfliesandroses · 26/10/2023 18:19

@ZB86 I had a second trimester miscarriage earlier this year so I was deeply saddened to see Rebecca's news. I am constantly toying with the idea of a private scan but ultimately I agree with your partner as it is only a snapshot of that particular moment in time. For example, we heard my baby's heartbeat less than 24 hours before we were told she had no heartbeat at a scan. I'm trying to become at peace with the idea that nothing I do can change the outcome of this pregnancy and think positively as much as I can. Just my thoughts, hope that helps x
