@SitDownLars hey, my consultant considers my papp a low. It's 0.78 so I guess he's going with the under 1 thing. He contemplated putting me on aspirin but said I shouldn't need it. You may be put on aspirin for the rest of your pregnancy. I am consultant lead and will be having extra growth scans towards the end of my pregnancy. Tbh I had a lot of extra growth scans with my son (didn't even know papp a was a thing then! So no idea what my levels were) he came out 7lbs at 38 weeks and is a large 5 year old. Very tall and slim, wearing 7-8 years clothes. The main thing is the hopsital are aware and supporting you 😊

Hello, popping along to join the thread I’m 13w 5d had scan on Monday and they shifted my dates along which makes sense as pregnancy test showed up very quickly before I was due on.
The sickness and tiredness this time is so much more than with my older children. Having daily naps!

Bluesky85 · 20/10/2023 10:32

Hi everyone I’m 16.5 weeks and finally starting to feel a bit more normal although still feel sick first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Has anyone who is 16 weeks plus felt any movement yet? I know it’s early but a few friends have said they first felt movement at that time. I’ve felt absolutely nothing but looking forward to when I do!

Emilyj13 · 20/10/2023 10:59

Hi everyone,
I am 14 weeks today and still feeling sick most days. I couldn’t stomach my pregnancy vitamins the last week and since then I haven't been physically sick. Has anyone else had this? If so have you stopped taking them?

Butterfliesandroses · 20/10/2023 11:08

@Emilyj13 I take mine straight after my evening meal and I find this doesn't cause problems. Personally, I wouldn't stop taking pregnancy vitamins. Perhaps look at alternatives. My friend who had HG throughout her pregnancy found the liquid pregnacare worked best for her, for example.

@Bluesky85 is this your first pregnancy? In my first pregnancy I felt them at 19 weeks (anterior placenta), but for subsequent pregnancies I've felt them very early (posterior placentas).

Madasahattersteaparty1749 · 20/10/2023 11:28

@Bluesky85 I have had flutterings, just started this morning but I’m probably more aware due to previous pregnancies. I think with my first it was about 19 weeks as it was just before the scan.

Bluesky85 · 20/10/2023 12:09

@Butterfliesandroses yes it’s my first pregnancy. My placenta is at the back apparently. I guess it’s still early days!

Hopefulfirstround · 20/10/2023 12:41

@Bluesky85 im 16+6 now and I swear I can feel it if baby does a flip , I have an anterior placenta so I’m really surprised . Nausea and vomiting have stopped and I’m back exercising , starting to feel a bit more normal . My only issue now is dressing for work ! I have to get some stretchy pants 😂

sweetdreams23 · 20/10/2023 19:39

Ive had fluttering from about 12 weeks this time. First pregnancy it was around 15 weeks. I have heard you can notice it earlier second time round but also I am very petite which can be another reason. Can’t wait to be able to see those little ripples! x

Knock123 · 20/10/2023 19:58

@Emilyj13 it's OK to just take folic acid and vitamin d instead of a multi vitamin. I have found despite the horrible sickness I've managed these 2 most days!

Pinkstuffs · 20/10/2023 20:06

@Emilyj13 I actually feel so much better since just taking vitamin D and folic acid, the iron in the multivitamin made me really constipated and bloated which made my sickness much worse.

ASGIRC · 20/10/2023 21:28

@Bluesky85 I am 16+2 and feel absolutely nothing. I do have an anterior placenta, though, so I dont expect to feel anything for a while yet!

I had my gender scan today, and Im having a girl!!!

dory0 · 21/10/2023 07:16

It’s so exciting some of you are starting to feel movement and starting to find out if you’re having boys or girls! Congratulations @ASGIRC 14 weeks here, think we will wait to find out at our 20 week scan. I’m feeling very grateful to finally be feeling quite a bit more normal, minimal nausea now is a relief.

SummerOak · 21/10/2023 07:53

Hi everyone, I posted in the first thread but haven't since as I was so worried something would go wrong. I'm currently 15 weeks and my due date is 12th of April. I'm starting to show a little bump so I'm definitely switching to some maternity leggings soon.

@ASGIRC congratulations on your baby girl!

Knock123 · 21/10/2023 10:03

Is anyone else having a surprise? We had a surprise for our first and talked about finding out this time but decided we found it so exciting last time we'll do the same this time.

I've also got an anterior placenta, I had posterior last time and felt movement from around 18 weeks, curious to see when I might feel something this time.

Ttcmumma · 21/10/2023 10:12

@ASGIRC ohh congrats on baby girl! It makes it feel so real and easier to connect to baby when you know if it's a boy or girl. Tho I wish I had the patience to not find out as it would be such an amazing surprise too. I find out on the 30th and I cannot wait x

sweetdreams23 · 21/10/2023 10:13

@Knock123 yes we are having a surprise!! We did the same last time and it was the very best surprise at the end of labour! It feels like a long wait but in my eyes so worth it 🥰

CB23CB · 21/10/2023 10:35

@Knock123 we are have having a surprise. After a difficult journey getting here, we just want a healthy baby in 6 months! Now that's scary, 6 months isn't long!!

SummerOak · 21/10/2023 10:40

We're finding out. I'm too impatient to wait till the birth. Still 5 weeks until we find out and I wouldn't be surprised if we just go private and find out sooner.

ASGIRC · 21/10/2023 13:23

@Ttcmumma It really is! She has a name now! Its not just bump or baby! Shes Maggie!

I couldnt have a surprise. It would kill me. LOL
I do admire the people who can wait! The surprise must be amazing! But definitely not for me! 😂

Knock123 · 21/10/2023 22:08

@CB23CB that's exactly how I felt last time!! And it was really exciting it is worth the wait, all the midwives were really excited when I was in labour as well. Just decide how you want the sex revealed and make sure everyone knows. It was meant to be my husbands job but he was so shocked in the moment I ended up saying it first. He had one job!

Yes 6 months doesnt seem very far away does it. I ended up getting induced on my last day of work last time so I'll be finishing 6 weeks early this time. I was looking at my calendar and thinking it would only be 4 1/2 months until I finish which will go so fast.

BVIre · 23/10/2023 15:10

Hey everyone- I have my 16 week nhs appointment on Wednesday, does anyone know what they do at these? I just know it’s not a scam and I’ll have to do a urine sample so just wondering what else they cover?

sweetdreams23 · 23/10/2023 15:37

@BVIre my midwife checks heartbeat at 16 weeks but I know not everywhere does that. So advised if possible it’s nice for partners to attend that one. I think other than that it’s more of a general how is everything going, they may check bump but can’t remember.

Pinkstuffs · 23/10/2023 16:12

Is anyone else struggling to contact their midwife or team of midwives? I’ve noticed my latest appointment at 16 weeks has been put in at a surgery about 40 miles away! I’m trying to contact anyone to clarify but not getting very far and my gp surgery say they don’t have anything to do with midwife appointments 🙄

Ek21 · 23/10/2023 17:18

Hi all, is anyone here from Ireland?? I am due to get my hair done this week and I am worried about whether it is safe for the baby? I am 15 weeks and it would be blonde highlights I would be getting done - if anyone has any advice that would be great!
