@Allaboard209 Someone make me write my c section birth plan tomorrow! I had 3 hours of cramping on Thursday night and thought that was it, but refused and tried to 😴. It stopped! I'm not ready, my bag wasn't even packed 😂

But I'm booked in for next week 😁

@Hiddenvoice Not long now! Is this your second section? Sorry I've forgotten!

@glasspaw What were you with your last baby? 😊 I was 41+3 so I'm convinced I can last until my section... But had a scare on Thursday 😅

My last was 36 weeks 🫣 I’m 38+5 now.

so making it this far has already been wild!

Ruri · 26/02/2024 20:52

Hi, I'm a FTM and I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this symptom before. For the last week I've been getting what feels like very firm pressure on my hips and it goes round from one hip to other in like tight band low down under my bump, it's not painful and doesn't feel like what I thought were braxton hicks but now I'm not sure!

Elphamouche · 26/02/2024 23:08

Had my 36 week consultant appointment and growth scan today.

Having to be induced at 38+5 as baby’s femur length is short and it’s dropped them down the percentiles quite a lot. It’s in line with the scan at 28 weeks, but it’s a huge difference from 20 weeks when baby was measuring long legs.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed and worried babies legs aren’t okay. But absolutely shitting myself about being induced. Just need to get through work this week, and the fact that my stairs are being ripped out. Then I can try and get my head sorted.

NewbiePL · 27/02/2024 20:32

Hi all, hope you’re all doing ok and getting through the last few weeks well.
I’ve just come back from my 36 growth scan and the pressure in the cord was measuring in the 95th centile and baby’s weight has gone off the rate they were heading. Currently weight 5lb 8 other than the pressure in the cord everything was all ok and healthy but they’re concerned enough to induce me next week when I’m 37 weeks. It’s our first so it felt a bit overwhelming as we weren’t expecting it happy that baby is healthy in terms of movements / heart rate etc.. and the sonographer said the pressure could have increased as baby was very active during the scan and could have been knocking it. Either way they’re still concerned enough to book me in for daily CTG monitoring and I’ve got another scan booked for Saturday and Monday again. I’ll get a call whenever there’s a bed ready for next week! It’s only my first week off on maternity leave wasn’t expecting this! Hope everyone is ok 💐

Hello everyone! I've been following this group since the beginning but have posted little.

My due date was 10th March but baby girl had other ideas and decided to arrive spontaneously at 35 weeks 5 days on 9th February, weighing an impressive 6lb 5oz for being so early! All doing well other than some high jaundice levels which I hope are now under control.

Good luck to you all expecting your little ones in the next couple of weeks!

Busylizzie85 · 28/02/2024 19:14

Congratulations @Elfie123 💕

@glasspaw Wow, that's quite the difference! I find the discomfort and getting bigger really kicks in after 38 weeks haha.

@Ruri I had this about 32 weeks. My midwife said as long as it wasn't consistent and really painful, it's nothing to worry about. But do call your midwives for reassurance if you want peace of mind!

@Elphamouche How are you feeling today? Sounds like you have a lot going on! If it's in line with 28 weeks then that sounds promising. I've seen a lot of posts about femur length concerns and only saw positive outcomes. Sending you lots of love though, it must be pretty stressful. But if they were concerned, you'd probably be induced earlier!

LeopardLover · 28/02/2024 21:54

@NewbiePL You've got this, mama 💪🏻 It could be just because you have a wriggler, but I imagine it's something once they've seen they have to take seriously (even if it might seem like an overreaction - just in case). My pal was induced early due to cord issues and has such a smart, sassy and wilful two year old now. He's such a joy! I hope your scans go well, and think of it as another excuse to see baby again and you don't have to wait so long - it's so exciting! Have they discussed induction methods with you and remind me, are your birth preferences sorted ? It's good to be prepared with an A, B, C and D plan 👌🏻 My first birth was physically traumatic but I was so prepped I felt calm and in control - happiest day of my life!

You'll get a good night's sleep before your induction which marks all the difference and is better than being induced after labouring for a day!

LeopardLover · 28/02/2024 21:55

@Elfie123 Waaah, the most fantastic news! Congratulations and what an incredible size. She was ready! Hope you're healing well.

NewbiePL · 29/02/2024 09:57

Congratulations @Elfie123 glad to hear all is well with you both and hope the jaundice settles down soon.

thanks so much @LeopardLover I agree think it’s being cautious but grateful for the level of care and increased monitoring to make sure everything remains as it should before the induction. Definitely looking forward to the extra scans to see our little one. Thanks for the reassurance about having an induction, the midwife I spoke to yesterday said they’re often spoken about negatively but many women have positive experiences with them. thankfully we did our birth plan last week and have all our options down but essentially left it to whatever is safest to get baby out. I was a bit taken back when the doctor talked through our induction options but my husband was paying attention and it’s likely to be a pessary and if things don’t progress I’ll be put on a drip and then the option for waters to be broken. I’ll be regularly monitored throughout so can’t really ask for more even though it’s all been a bit of an unexpected shock. Hope you’re doing ok

Hi ladies hope you’re all doing well, last few weeks/days for us eek! I’ve been spiking a high blood pressure the last month and have been sent to triage and the day ward for BP traces at least twice a week, fed up now! Didn’t think I wanted another induction but seriously considering asking for one at my next consultant appointment (38 weeks)

HKS90 · 29/02/2024 13:13

Hope everyone is doing well, our little guy decided to join us at the weekend! I can’t get over how perfect he is 😍 wishing everyone well for the upcoming arrivals 💕

Congratulations @Elfie123 @HKS90 Enjoy tjr
newborn bubble!

@Psmama22 have they spoken about putting you on short term medication to lower it? I was the same with my first pregnancy and they refused to arrange delivery before 39 weeks and offered medication instead .

LeopardLover · 01/03/2024 09:01

@NewbiePL Glad they are looking after you! I think inductions are super common and knowledge is power. Hopefully the pessary works but you'll get there otherwise 💜 I know it's not necessarily what was in your plan but you'll be holding baby in no time!

I'm having my section today. Starving and last in the queue 😅

RubySwan · 01/03/2024 09:46

Clicked on this thread because I went for my 20 week scan yesterday. Everything fine except the sonographer felt that the pulmonary artery looks dilated. I’ve been referred to foetal medicine for a scan on the heart by cardiologists. The midwife didn’t seem concerned and suggested that the sonographer was being over cautious. But it’s best that I attend tomorrow and find out sooner rather than later. I just feel like I received mixed messages today and I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this? Nobody even told me what this could mean so I just feel a bit deflated

Hiddenvoice · 01/03/2024 10:23

@RubySwan sorry no one’s explained anything to you. From my experience they like to be cautious and double check things so it’s a good thing they are just having an extra check. If you’re worried I’d suggest speaking to your midwife and hopefully she can explain a bit more.

Psmama22 · 01/03/2024 19:02

Thanks all for the support! Had a scan this morning and there’s issues with the cord, so getting induced on Monday! Best of luck everyone over the next few weeks xxx

LeopardLover · 01/03/2024 19:38

@NewbiePL She's heeeeere! Omg. We were convinced it was a boy. 😂 Just recovering! Best of luck if I disappear for a bit and best of luck to you too @Psmama22 .

I hope you get answers soon @RubySwan x
