@LeopardLover i’ll be that week too. Also making an attempt at the hospital bag I can’t believe how soon it is! We’ve had a couple of growth scans as baby boy is measuring on the massive side, so I’m very aware that he is nearly ready 😂

LeopardLover · 13/02/2024 08:48

@HKS90 Oh how exciting! How big is he? At my 36 week scan the sonographer started off by saying he's a big baby but soon backtracked - he just has a huge belly 🤣 have you finished work yet?

LeopardLover · 13/02/2024 08:49

@NewbiePL Thank you! How exciting 😁 For some reason I'm fixated on getting the Snuzpod set up. I think I'll relax after that 🤣 oh and getting the carseat in the car!

HKS90 · 13/02/2024 09:06

@LeopardLover they reckon he will be somewhere around the 10lb mark, he certainly feels it when he’s rolling around 😂 I’m still working but down to 3 days. I’m doing this week and possibly the first half of next depending on how I’m feeling. Have you finished yet?

NewbiePL · 13/02/2024 09:20

my husband’s been on the case with getting more of the practical stuff sorted @LeopardLover he made up our bedside crib last week and we’re fitting our car seat in a couple of weeks. I’m planning a big clothes wash and sort next week so can hopefully relax a bit before baby makes an appearance!

LeopardLover · 13/02/2024 09:36

@HKS90 No way! You'll have to update us to see if that's accurate. Sometimes they get it so wrong but I love a chunky baby. This is my last week! Hurrah!

@NewbiePL Oh that's so good - well done to your husband! We decided to decorate my toddler's room so that's currently taking over but hopefully we'll be done this weekend. I have a long list of things still to buy (little things) but I have started washing clothes so that's something.

Aquarius93 · 13/02/2024 09:55

@HKS90 I think I could be having a 10lber too! My daughter was 9lb 8ozs and everyone keeps telling me that second babies and boys are usually bigger. I’ve got a growth scan in a few weeks but also had one last week and he was in the top centiles but luckily not off the chart!

I did a separate thread last week as I woke up in the night with what felt like mild contractions (exactly how labour started with my daughter) they were regular and once they got to every 5 minutes I rang PAU to go in for monitoring. Midwives and doctor said it was just Braxton Hicks (although they felt completely different to the Braxton Hicks that I’ve been having a lot of!) so I’ve been trying to get my hospital bag packed just in case!

NewbiePL · 13/02/2024 10:29

He has done a good job @LeopardLover Good luck with the last bits for your toddler’s room. I think we’ve brought most of our bits and planning to do all the washing next week when I finish work. Enjoy your last week at work.

LeopardLover · 13/02/2024 11:49

@Aquarius93 Oh wow! I remember Braxton Hicks feeling totally different too. Not that I've bad any yet. My sister-in-law had a 10lb baby girl and a 7lbs 5oz boy for her second! So you never know 😅

@NewbiePL Thank you, you too! I think I'm going to write a huge list of things to buy on lunch 😅

Aquarius93 · 13/02/2024 15:01

@LeopardLover I had a good 24+ hours of ‘Braxton Hicks’ between every 5-10 minutes, with back ache and period like pain and while I knew baby was unlikely to come any time soon, I couldn’t relax. I don’t really think they were just Braxton Hicks but either way, my body is doing something to get ready for labour and I’ve had a few episodes since. I’ve had typical Braxton Hicks since too but I don’t find them too uncomfortable, just a bit strange!

LeopardLover · 13/02/2024 15:19

@Aquarius93 Wow, that definitely would've convinced me! How far were you when the Braxton Hicks started? I know I'd be convinced it was Labour if it lasted more than 20 mins!

Maybe baby will make a surprise arrival!

Bluesky85 · 13/02/2024 16:26

Hi everyone, I had a routine growth scan yesterday and they said the baby isn’t growing at a consistent rate and although growing, it’s not quickly enough so at each scan it’s dropped down the percentiles and now at 25% EFW. Has anyone else had anything similar? I know 25% is still normal but it was 66% in November! They have referred me for an ‘urgent’ consultants appointment but turns out urgent isn’t until the end of next week so now I’m just worrying and googling! I’m 33 weeks.

NewbiePL · 13/02/2024 19:02

Hi @Bluesky85 sorry you’re feeling worried at the moment and I know it’s easy said than done but try to avoid googling. Did they plot the EFW on a growth chart to see how things are progressing and where you on the lines there. The percentile on the reading for EFW has show it’s toward the lower end but on the growth chart when plotted out it’s within the normal range. From what I’ve read particularly on here measurements haven’t always been accurate and it can depend on the person measuring you too. I hope your scan next week goes well x

Bluesky85 · 13/02/2024 21:33

@NewbiePL thanks for your reply. Yes the efw measurements are plotted on the graph. All within normal range but on the decline rather than following a consistent path. First one bigger than normal, second about normal and now this one low. So I guess they are wondering why growth is slower than it should be and falling behind. If this pattern continues then the efw percentile will get lower and lower in run up to due date. I guess I’ll have to wait to see what the consultant says. Weird cos I’m tall, was a big baby myself and I eat loads 😂 plus my bump is consistently measuring 2cm ahead so I don’t know what’s going on!

Busylizzie85 · 14/02/2024 13:20

Just had a growth scan this morning and baby has dropped from 90th to 50th percentile which is a worry, thankfully they have a consultant appointment free tomorrow so I am booked in then to go over things! Likely hood is I need another scan in a week or two but in the mean time I have to monitor movements to make sure all is ok. Baby is currently weighing around 6lb 7.
On a good note the placenta has moved so that's one less worry.

@Busylizzie85 Wow, baby is a great size though! Sorry this sounds a bit stressful but hopefully you'll be monitored closely and brilliant you have a consultant appointment tomorrow and baby has moved 😊

Can't believe March is so close now! How's everyone feeling? I'm a mix of excited and a little scared to know what to do!

Anyone given birth already/have signs?

Hiddenvoice · 25/02/2024 20:56

@Allaboard209 I’be got 2 weeks left to go. Having an early c section at 38 weeks as long as everything goes to plan!
It feels like the fastest and slowest 9 months!

I have every sign under the sun… except for the definitive ones 🤣 (bloody show, waters going, escalating pain with contractions).

every day I’m convinced it’ll be the day. I’m so ready to meet this baby!

definitely! The weeks have been going quickly but this last few seem to be slowing down haha! All the best with your section!

Sounds like it will happen very soon! When is your due date?

LeopardLover · 25/02/2024 22:49

@Allaboard209 Someone make me write my c section birth plan tomorrow! I had 3 hours of cramping on Thursday night and thought that was it, but refused and tried to 😴. It stopped! I'm not ready, my bag wasn't even packed 😂

But I'm booked in for next week 😁

@Hiddenvoice Not long now! Is this your second section? Sorry I've forgotten!

@glasspaw What were you with your last baby? 😊 I was 41+3 so I'm convinced I can last until my section... But had a scare on Thursday 😅

Busylizzie85 · 26/02/2024 07:24

I'm so ready for this to be done now, I am exhausted! Have another growth scan on Wednesday at 38 weeks I'm really worried baby has dropped off the curve again or is in a right awkward position, my anxiety is through the roof just want her here safe and sound.

Aquarius93 · 26/02/2024 07:36

I’ve got my section date now too so it’s all feeling more real!

Baby has definitely dropped in the last few days as my pelvis is so sore! Also been having loads of episodes of regular false contractions for weeks now!

Hiddenvoice · 26/02/2024 08:25

@LeopardLover yeah second section for me, first one was planned and a nice and stress free experience so hoping this ones the same!

Bag all packed now?
