Decided to stop sitting on the fence and booked a early scan on thursday eeek. Very very very anxious and my last scan with previous bubs went south and i’d gone in so positive! hubby is coming but feel i will be squeezing his hands tighter than in labour waiting for that heartbeat 😵‍💫

TheBirdintheCave · 23/10/2023 21:23

@Nushyboots Very brave! I hope everything is perfect this time :) So far I've cried in fear before every scan 😅

Longbarn5 · 23/10/2023 22:36

I am new to this thread. Just got diagnosed with an MMC today at 12 week scan. Baby was 6 weeks size so retained for six weeks. Wishing all on here hapoy healthy conceptions and pregnancies. We hope to try again soon

Neelamj · 24/10/2023 07:17

So glad I came across this thread!

hope you dont mind me joining in :) but currently 4 weeks and 6 days had a miscarriage last year at 5wks and 2days and I am superrr anxious. Thankfully no spotting this time but apart from a missed period I have no other symptomns

hopefully this thread will help me theough my anxiety so grateful to be blessed again but so nervous

suz2285 · 24/10/2023 08:58

@Nushyboots well done, i hope everything goes perfect! I'm the same as @TheBirdintheCave and i get myself so wound up before scans! Got everything crossed for you though!

@Longbarn5 - welcome, though i'm sorry you are here. I think MMC are awful, and i hope you are ok. We managed to get pregnant again very quickly after our MC and Even though this pregnancy has been anxiety fuelled, we're doing ok! I hope you can try again when you are ready

@Neelamj welcome to you too! And congratulations! The early stages are the worst, especially when waiting for the stage that you lost the baby last time. It's awful... It's early days, so plenty time for symptoms to kick in, but every baby is different and some people have very little symptoms at all! Its a weird phase of wanting to feel rubbish but also hating feeling rubbish! 😂Hope all goes ok this time

Neelamj · 24/10/2023 11:22

@suz2285 thank you:)

TheBirdintheCave · 24/10/2023 11:26

Welcome @Longbarn5 and @Neelamj :)

Neelamj · 24/10/2023 11:31

Thank you @TheBirdintheCave

starting making a baby list today and name ideas /what to do about a potential mini holiday…anything to take my mind off the ‘what iff’

my last period was 20th sept and the hospital suggested an early scan end of novemeber would I be classed as around 8 weeks or 10 weeks? As technically according to ovulation I would be 8wks but they calculate from last period so would that scan be a 10week one lol so confusing hopefully I have good news

TheBirdintheCave · 24/10/2023 11:33

@Neelamj I just lied to mine and took two weeks off my actual ovulation date or else they would have been two weeks out and I wanted to avoid unnecessary panic.

suz2285 · 24/10/2023 13:56

@Neelamj yeah they count from your last period, assuming your periods fall within the normal range sort of 22-32 ish days then that'll be ok. So when you get the positive test you're basically already 4 weeks pregnant even though you know you're not! So that would be a 10 week scan at the end of Nov. If thats your dating scan and it turns out to be too early they'll just have you come back in in a few weeks

are you in the UK?

Welcome @Longbarn5 and @Neelamj :)

Thank you x

suz2285 · 24/10/2023 16:49

@Longbarn5 for sure, it's the club no one wants to be a part of... but there's so much support here which is so nice ❤️

Nushyboots · 24/10/2023 21:45

@Longbarn5 so sorry to hear about your little one xx i retained for two weeks with our MMC - sending love and please be kind to yourself x

Longbarn5 · 24/10/2023 22:42

Thank you and it is indeed great to have so much support.

Longbarn5 · 24/10/2023 22:43

Yesm the pretension thing is really annoying. I am quite big for 12 weeks too. Gestation sac is large !

Nushyboots · 25/10/2023 04:15

@Longbarn5 i felt massive too and 100% annoyed (angry) about the retention at the time. Crazy what the body does? We went on to concieve this bubs about 4 months later - think about a break or something for afterwards for you and DP/DH. We went away for a weekend and helped us a lot to process xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/10/2023 18:44

@Longbarn5 sorry to see you're going through this, it's horrible 😢 I retained for 8 weeks with my mmc 😢. I agree with taking a break or going away, after I passed our baby we went away a week later to Haven and it did help x

Longbarn5 · 25/10/2023 20:43

Goodness, 8 weeks!! So sorry to hear! Yes, I am now just wanting to try and move forward. Will be glad when it's all over to be honest

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/10/2023 22:51

@Longbarn5 I know what you mean, I was exactly the same! It went on that long because I thought I had passed baby 2 weeks after the 12 week scan but EPU were useless and it just carried on until it got worse 😢
Sending you lots of love xx ❤️

Neelamj · 26/10/2023 05:56

Hey

sorry just catching up on messages and yes I am in the Uk @suz2285

just did a clear fmu and it said 1-2weeks (I am 5 weeks +1 so really it should at least be 2-3)

feeling really upset and similar situation with last miscarriage waiting till 9 to ring epu again to book blood test but not feeling positive now, I feel so scared :(

Nushyboots · 26/10/2023 09:22

Nervously awaiting scan for bubs in an hour and feeling absolute sick. Have got past point when we lost last bubs (8 weeks) but it’s now that fear of ‘i have no idea whats going on in my womb’ as now like we all know symptoms can carry on regardless….DH is saying I’m being silly but can’t help the nerves!!

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/10/2023 11:56

@Neelamj my clear blue said 1-2 weeks when I was 5 weeks, I'm now 27 weeks. What did EPU say?? Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/10/2023 11:57

@Nushyboots hope your scan was okay?? Xx

Neelamj · 26/10/2023 12:27

@Brokenpancreas94 thank you thats giv en me some hope

I rang again at 9 and they said they wont be doing a blood test and seems like its a failing pregnancy, annoyed as I was told to ring again so they could book me for a hcg blood test. She said to wait three weeks and not do another test.

mentally prepared just incase its not meant to be but really praying for a miracle.

took me 9monthd after last miscarriage and im so scared of going throught the pain physically and mentally.

hope everyone elese is doing well :) x
