suz2285 · 06/07/2023 13:10

@ItsAJourney I'm so sorry

Mummyme87 · 06/07/2023 13:11

Had my nuchal scan. Theyโ€™ve put me forward to 12+5 now, I was down as 12+1 by my own dates, so weโ€™d 13th January (my youngest is 14th Jan and Iโ€™m 15th Jan ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ). Baby all bouncing around and low risk for Pre eclampsia and chromosomal abnormalities (1:2500 for t21, 1:45000 for T13/18 which really surprised me! Was expecting much higher in the hundreds).

Iโ€™ve attached a scan photo.

had perineal midwife appt as well. Referred for endoanal scan to make sure all good for another vaginal birth. Fingers crossed.

@ItsAJourney So so sorry to read your news. Thinking of you x

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 13:22

@ItsAJourney so, so sorry to hear that.

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 13:23

@lucya66 I'm afraid the glow never came for me with my first ๐Ÿ˜…and it has yet to appear with my second. My skin is just dire. I had to have about 6 facials last pregnancy to try and get on top of it

Kalodin · 06/07/2023 13:35

I am so sorry @ItsAJourney - I was holding out hope for you. Best of luck with everything xx

Redpanda21 · 06/07/2023 13:39

So sorry to hear @ItsAJourney

Take time to heal xx

lucya66 · 06/07/2023 13:42

Oh did facials help? I have got so many spots all over my chin and spreading up my cheeks. I never usually get this. @buckingmad

Salamander91 · 06/07/2023 13:43

I'm so sorry @ItsAJourney x

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 13:44

Yeah they really did. I got married at 34 weeks pregnant and was in such a panic about my skin. I went from about 20ish weeks I think maybe once a fortnight ish? Took a few facials to really draw everything out as I had lot of texture under the skin.

Then I used the ordinary products (not retinoids) twice a day and always took my makeup off, cleansed etc and my skin was amazing.

sashastuck · 06/07/2023 13:57

@ItsAJourney so so so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself. Sending you loads of love xx

sashastuck · 06/07/2023 14:00

@Luhou thanks for the reminder about needing a maternity coat, I didnโ€™t give that a thought! Going to need a bunch of hoodies/jumpers too I bet!

@Mummyme87 lovely scan โค๏ธ

I told my line manager today. He said โ€œthatโ€™s fcking amazingโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I knew heโ€™d be supportive and happy. He also went โ€œohhhhh that makes senseeeeโ€ because Iโ€™ve had so many appointments whereas usually Iโ€™d never have a sick day! Feels like a massive weight off.

@RaspberryTime look after number 1 1000%. Easier said than done but you wonโ€™t be the first person to do that and certainly wonโ€™t be the last! If theyโ€™re not super hospitable to you then at least youโ€™ve got maternity to look forward to ๐Ÿ˜‚

Regarding returning to work (especially in schools) - I heard something like if you donโ€™t return after 9 months you have to pay back your mat pay. Is this true? My partner really wants me to take a year off and Iโ€™d like to, but was under the impression I had no choice?

Mummyme87 · 06/07/2023 14:02

@sashastuck glad your boss was supportive. No you only need to repay your mat leave if you donโ€™t return to your job for a set period of time, sonnyโ€™s is 3months within the nhs

Luhou · 06/07/2023 14:22

@ItsAJourney so sorry to hear your sad news. Take care lovely ๐Ÿ’•

Kalodin · 06/07/2023 14:23

Will it be dependent on whether its SMP or enhanced @sashastuck ? With my work, I will have to pay back all of the enhanced pay if I don't return. Only 50% back if I return for 6 -12 months.

I'm planning on staying on, so doesn't effect me.

But there's no set time for me to return in order to keep the money, my colleague took 14 months off.

I'm lucky that I am one of those women whose skins really benefits from pregnancy ๐Ÿ˜…

sashastuck · 06/07/2023 14:23

Thanks @Mummyme87 !

Another question - does anyone wear a watch that tracks their resting heart rate? I vowed to take it off ages ago but I am still checking it upon waking up every morning. In the last 2 days itโ€™s dropped a few beats and made me worried. Anyone else seeing a bit of a drop after it being high for a while? Definitely need reassurance that itโ€™s normal

Kalodin · 06/07/2023 14:24

NGL, nervous about my scan too after Journey's bad news with the MMC. I was in a similar boat as her, measuring behind at earlier scan. And that was similar my MMC back in 2018.

Noodle89 · 06/07/2023 14:27

@ItsAJourney I'm so sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourself and take time to heal from this loss. ๐Ÿ’› sending you and your family lots of love xx

Redpanda21 · 06/07/2023 14:46

I have a private scan shortly at the place which discovered 2020 mmc.

I have had 2 scans with this one and have seen a heartbeat on both but the scanxiety is real at the moment

Sending love @ItsAJourney , Iโ€™m so so sorry.

Flossiepot · 06/07/2023 16:11

So sorry to hear this @ItsAJourney x

Lilothblos · 06/07/2023 16:12

@Mummyme87 congrats on the scan!

I had my NHS one today too. It took forever for mine because she wouldnโ€™t get in the right position for the sonographer so I kept having to get up, jump around, shake my hips and all sorts ๐Ÿ˜‚stubborn girly! I measured 12+6 so officially due 12th Jan!
