One week to go until our first scan! First pregnancy, and whilst I had some anxiety at the beginning thatโ€™s settled down a bit and this will be the first time we see bub!

I, we, have been narrowing down a list of nurseries but my god are they expensive, several of them are circa 90 a day (full price) with the cheapest being about 75. Weโ€™re really hoping that the free hours Hunt has announced is so politically sense it ive that irrespective or what party gets in, they have to stick with it.

Just hoping thereโ€™s only one in here because if itโ€™s two, we are so royally f*ed financially itโ€™s scary.

lilluce95 · 05/07/2023 20:17

Hope you get your results quickly @Matildahoney sending lots of love x

Dannic2018 · 05/07/2023 20:52

@LittleAlien24 I have a nearly 18 year old and 15 year old as well as a 2.5 year old and apart from being chunkier I honestly donโ€™t feel any different from my 20โ€™s. I mean I look knackered and feel knackered so visually I probably look haggard ha ha but isnโ€™t that a given with kids anyway ? My mam had me at nearly 40 and she always said the same. Apart from my eye bags I certainly donโ€™t think Iโ€™m a old mam, I think kids keep you young ๐Ÿ˜€

LittleAlien24 · 05/07/2023 21:13

@Dannic2018 yup, kids keep you young. My 18 and 16 year olds always tell me that im not old. We now have a joke at home with this (started before i got pregnant) lol if i feel tired or have some pain etc my OH laughs at me- well at your age you know ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mummyme87 · 05/07/2023 22:19

Sorry @Matildahoney that you didnโ€™t get the results you wanted. Hopefully the NIPT results are quick xx

Iโ€™ve got my nuchal scan tomorrow morning then straight to see perineal midwife.

ItsAJourney · 05/07/2023 22:31

Iโ€™ve got my private scan and NIPT tomorrow morning and Iโ€™m terrified. Iโ€™ll be 10 + 2 but Iโ€™m just freaking out as my viability scan had me 6 days behind, Iโ€™ve had no symptoms aside from bloating and today thatโ€™s gone. I just canโ€™t shake the words โ€˜MMCโ€™ from my mind and itโ€™s taking over my thoughts. Glad Iโ€™ll know either way tomorrow, I guess.

LittleAlien24 · 05/07/2023 22:58

@Mummyme87 @ItsAJourney all the best for tomorrow

Dannic2018 · 05/07/2023 23:04

Good luck for tomorrow @Mummyme87 @ItsAJourney x

PartRadish · 06/07/2023 08:27

Good luck today @Mummyme87 and @ItsAJourney

I know we've spoken about this before @ItsAJourney but just a reminder that I was 6 days behind at what should have been 6+6, and I've had minimal symptoms this time compared to my other pregnancys. I was beside myself convinced it would be another mmc but baby had completely caught up at 10+3 nipt scan! I'm sure it will be the same for you x

suz2285 · 06/07/2023 08:32

Good luck @Mummyme87 @ItsAJourney ๐Ÿฅณ

Luhou · 06/07/2023 09:14

Has anybodys sickness suddenly calmed down as they enter into 2nd trimester?

I'm 11 + 4 and still throwing up everyday, somebody give me hope it will stop soon!

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 09:25

@Luhou still throwing up most days but def nowhere near as much and I feel almost normal the rest of the time (13+2).

Flossiepot · 06/07/2023 09:27

@Luhou mine has definitely eased off, still having moments but nothing like I was. 13 weeks & 2 days now. Also had my first full nights sleep last night since finding out I was pregnant ๐Ÿฅฐ

Luhou · 06/07/2023 09:52

@buckingmad and @Flossiepot thanks ladies you've given me some hope it will ease in the next few weeks, full night sleep sounds wonderful too!

Luhou · 06/07/2023 09:58

I bought a maternity coat in the Next Sale this morning. Cheaper than others I've seen and last time round I got away without a coat (october baby) was ยฃ98 down to ยฃ38.

cossie13 · 06/07/2023 10:05

@Luhou Still feeling super queasy, but I remember with DS it was 18 weeks before I stopped feeling sick and 16 weeks with DD so hopefully it'll be 14 weeks with this one! And thanks for the link to the coat! That is a really lovely coat!

Luhou · 06/07/2023 10:16

Thanks @cossie13 I was simillar with DD, and then I had a few weeks of peace and then about 30 weeks it came back!

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 10:31

Oooh good point about a maternity coat. DD is an august baby so didn't have this problem last time!

cossie13 · 06/07/2023 11:00

@Luhou Oh god, sincerely hope it doesn't return later this time!

I've had to order a load of maternity work clothes already as I don't fit in my blouses or anything! I've just had a look and there are a few maternity coats on Vinted too!

Luhou · 06/07/2023 11:26

@cossie13 I'm exactly the same, although haven't told work yet so trying to keep reasonably covered. I've got an George Asda order arriving today full of work stuff. We wear uniforms wear I work so I'll need to tell them soon. My scan is in 8 days, hopefully I can last until then!

cossie13 · 06/07/2023 11:40

@Luhou Oooo, I hadn't thought about asda for maternity clothes!

buckingmad · 06/07/2023 12:39

Loveleggings are the best for maternity leggings. I bought two pairs last time and lived in them. I'm going to order another colour for this pregnancy. Not see through at all.

H&M are good for work maternity stuff and dresses. Topshop maternity jeans are good too.

I'd also suggest hanging on buying nursing bras if you're planning on breastfeeding until your milk comes in. My boobs literally tripled in size when my milk came in and everything I had bought was too small. Plus for those in their first pregnancies, your rib cage expands so I went up a couple of band fittings too.

suz2285 · 06/07/2023 12:48

@buckingmad oh god if my boobs triple in size I'll not be able to stand up ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

ItsAJourney · 06/07/2023 12:51

Thanks so much all for all the good wishes.

Iโ€™m afraid itโ€™s bad news and as I was worried about, Iโ€™ve had a missed miscarriage. Canโ€™t really work out when as the baby was measuring smaller than it did at the viability scan so can only assume it was a few weeks ago. Waiting for the EPU to call me to discuss next steps.

Thanks all for the support over the last couple of months. I wish you all the best with your pregnancies.

PartRadish · 06/07/2023 12:57

Oh @ItsAJourney I am so, so sorry ๐Ÿ˜”
