@Matildahoney @suz2285
how old are you both ? Iโ€™m 38,39 in November and not had my results back yet but they did say that if it was high Iโ€™d get a phone call in a few days, this was last Monday but still makes me paranoid. The fluid was 1.6mm which I think is relatively low?
sending you love @Matildahoney as I know itโ€™s such a worry but as the others say itโ€™s just probability so try not to worry

Kalodin · 05/07/2023 12:32

Yeah childcare costs are grim aren't they. Currently it costs us ยฃ1250pm for DS3 and DS1 in Breakfast and After School Club is another ยฃ250pm (during term time).

DS3 has his 30 free hours kick in September, feels like ages away as he turned 3 start of April.

Ttcdcno1 · 05/07/2023 12:35

Had my scan today ๐Ÿฅฐdue date put to 6th Jan so 13w 4 instead of 13. Baby was bouncing around all over the place ๐Ÿ˜‚Any guesses boy or girl? Nt was 1.5 so just to wait for the bloods now but weโ€™ve told everyone today. Couldnโ€™t wait any longer โค๏ธ

Due January Part 4! ๐ŸŽ‰
suz2285 · 05/07/2023 12:38

@Dannic2018 I'm 38 as well, your NT is perfect so I'm sure all will be fine, with the age all it takes is for the bloods to be slightly off though, but doesn't mean anything is wrong, sounds like you'll be totally fine! My friend had the NIPT was 1/62 for downs, she got a call within 3 days of the scan, and the NIPT came back fine, she had low Papp-a so she gets growth scans, no issues so far with baby and she's 30 + weeks now!

@Ttcdcno1 congrats! Was everyone excited!? No idea on guesses I'm rubbish at these things! I can't even tell what I'm looking for hahaha

sashastuck · 05/07/2023 12:48

@Ttcdcno1 yaaaay amazing! Canโ€™t see nub so Iโ€™m going to just guess girl. It wonโ€™t be long before weโ€™re all confirming what we have!

RG9895 · 05/07/2023 12:56

@Matildahoney sorry to hear, that must be so scary! My fingers are crossed you get good results from the NIPT ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

@Ttcdcno1 congrats on the scan! Lovely clear pic!
Im awful at guessing so not even going to attempt it ๐Ÿ˜‚

I cant wait until we all start finding out! Anyone else have a private one booked for 16 weeks? Mines in 3 weeks today and I am so excited! These weeks will drag now haha

Dannic2018 · 05/07/2023 13:00

@suz2285 I just called the RVI and got my results over the phone since itโ€™s not showing on Badgernet. So 1-840 for downs and the other two a low risk too so thatโ€™s a weight off my shoulders, we shared our news last week and I know it wouldnโ€™t of changed our minds anyway but I feel like once your over 35 they treat you like the oldest mams in the world ha ha. Thank you!

Matildahoney · 05/07/2023 13:10

Thank you all ladies, I'm 40, but it's classed as 41, @suz2285 NT was 2.1 which they said was normal. My maternal serum free beta HCG is 3.36, she said they like it to be 1, which is what has boosted the risk.

Just back from the NIPT, she said we should have the results within a week, frustrating as I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and we want to announce it properly!
Just a nervy wait now! I just want to enjoy my pregnancy!

buckingmad · 05/07/2023 13:21

@sashastuck thats a bargain for London. My friend is paying ยฃ93 in Epsom. I think new babies will get 15 from 9 months. Not sure when their 30 kicks in. Just remember itโ€™s not really 15/30 as thatโ€™s based on term time. If theyโ€™re in 51 weeks on the year then itโ€™s averaged out and also sometimes doesnโ€™t include food/nappies etc.

Mummyme87 · 05/07/2023 13:48

Iโ€™m not holding out for the funded hours from 9months. I very much think itโ€™s a tory ploy to win the general election and then there wonโ€™t be enough money etc etc. dicks. It would be better if they just paid the childcare settings a higher amount per hour rather than the measly ยฃ3.whatever

RootsHere · 05/07/2023 14:04

How did people find out their NT measurement? Midwife didnโ€™t say anything during the scan and I didnโ€™t get any paperwork.. i wonder if it was on the bloods form but I didnโ€™t check and then turned it in shortly after the scan for the bloods.

Ttcdcno1 · 05/07/2023 14:14

@RootsHere i was given a printed report with it on. Had the crl measurements etc on aswell

suz2285 · 05/07/2023 14:22

@Dannic2018 that's great! Glad they had the results it's the waiting that's the worst part

@Matildahoney that sounds ok to me then! Sometimes the hcg is just high for no reason! I don't think it'll be anything to worry about, I read the NIPT forum on Reddit which is super useful for finding others with similar results and what the outcome was... it's mostly reassuring though obviously it's a lot of people from America where they have the NIPT as standard so loads of tests! Where as here we only get offered if there's any issues!

Matildahoney · 05/07/2023 14:27

@suz2285 ooh DP is an avid Reddit user, I might get him on it! Thank you!
I'm really hopeful it's going to all be ok! The midwife did say she's so glad it's available on the NHS now. X

suz2285 · 05/07/2023 15:00

@Matildahoney i'd be hopeful with a those readings you got, the NT seems the most likely indicator of any major issues, but hopefully won't have long to wait, its the waiting and the limbo that's the worst! says me who's panicking about my scan on friday, i'll be back here panicking if i'm in the same boat I know!

buckingmad · 05/07/2023 15:53

I did it. I told my new work (of 2 weeks!) that Iโ€™m pregnant. They took it ok, happy for me personally but probably a bit disappointed professionally which is completely understandable. Iโ€™ll be due literally our busiest period so it is a bit of a kick in the teeth for them. But I reiterated I didnโ€™t know when I interviewed or accepted the job.

but now we can tell everyone! So thatโ€™s a positive.

Mushroo · 05/07/2023 16:08

@buckingmad thats good they were nice about it!

Im terrified to tell work, Iโ€™ve been then 18 months but was on a fixed term contract - it got made permanent last week which is great but going to give it a couple of weeks I thinkโ€ฆ In my defence, I had to plan on the basis Iโ€™d be let go in March next year, but yeh, less than ideal really! (Great for my mat leave though!)

Noodle89 · 05/07/2023 16:52

@Matildahoney fingers crossed everything is ok for you and baby and it won't be too much of a wait.. whoever said pregnancy was easy is a liar.. its so much stress and anxiety until they are in your arms and then it starts all over again as they grow ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Matildahoney · 05/07/2023 18:11

Thank you @suz2285 and @Noodle89
Think I'm going to just take a break from this board until we know, I will come back & update. In the meantime hope your scan goes well & everyone else waiting for anything.

RaspberryTime · 05/07/2023 18:52

@Matildahoney Iโ€™m so sorry to read about the stress youโ€™re going through, I really do feel for you. Youโ€™ll be in my thoughts.

I had an interview for a new job recently, which we REALLY could do with as my husband is being made redundant. The job starts in September and is term time only. I got a call today which I missed but the clues suggest itโ€™s a job offer (yay!)โ€ฆbut when do people think I should tell them Iโ€™m pregnant and therefore only able to work the first term?! ๐Ÿ™ˆ It feels so dishonest but friends keep telling me to look out for number one which I get but I donโ€™t think I could lie. Iโ€™ve read that they canโ€™t legally retract an offer on the grounds of pregnancy, but my concerns are more around good will and the fact there wonโ€™t be any if I accept the job for such a short term!

LittleAlien24 · 05/07/2023 19:07

@Dannic2018 oh this "old" age treatment. All im hearing is oh well at your age.
before i got pregnant i went to my gp for test because we been trying for many years and moved countries. first thing i was told was you're 39 so at your age, it's not that easy, it's not like it was for you 16 years ago (my youngest is 16), obviously there's more things going on with your health now than it was all those years ago.

LittleAlien24 · 05/07/2023 19:08

@Matildahoney really hope your other test results come back all good.

Redpanda21 · 05/07/2023 19:15

Hope your tests come back okay @Matildahoney xx
