I never got a pillow with previous 3 but always wanted one! I just felt like I could never justify it during the day but at night I always wish I had something

lilluce95 · 18/07/2023 07:46

@Firsttimerugbymum I also bought one recently to get out of the habit! I got the 6ft one from foryourlittleone.com/collections/maternity-pillows and it's super comfortable!

suz2285 · 18/07/2023 08:44

@lackingpatience omg we're the same, husband hates all the boys names as 'they'll get bullied at school with that name' or 'I know one of them and he's .... (insert whatever issues here)'

Girls names is easier but I'm convinced I'm having a boy ๐Ÿ˜‚ got a few weeks left before we find out the gender ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Redpanda21 · 18/07/2023 09:33

@Firsttimerugbymum i have the koala pregnancy pillow. Great for breastfeeding too.

This is the one I have. Cost me ยฃ40 a couple of years ago.

Has anyone thought about a pregnancy pillow yet?

Very conscious I'm rolling into my back in the night and want to get out of the habit before it's an issue. Any recommendations?

Yes I got this on on Amazon in the prime day sale for ยฃ28, it comes vacuum packed so bit wrinkly at first but inflates nicely and is comfy.

My midwife recommended sleeping on my left side as sleeping on right side after 16 weeks can reduce blood flow or something along those lines. I 've never heard of that before so really trying to get in to the habit as I'm 16 weeks on Friday!

Im 16 weeks at the end of this week and keep rolling on my back in the night too! Seems v early to be worrying about the weight of my belly but I guess we're at that point now! Exciting! Time to get the affectionately named 'Mr Banana' out!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have a question for you ladies - its my birthday this week and going to lunch on Saturday, which we booked when I was still exhausted in the evenings, but now I'm managing to stay awake later I want to do something in the (early!) evening too - any ideas? Its a rare child free night for DH & I so would like to make the most of it!

Mushroo · 18/07/2023 10:46

@TunnocksTCake do you live near a city? I really enjoy the grown up crazy golf places.

Otherwise cinema, or one of those drawing classes with a mocktail?

Ive found โ€˜activitiesโ€™ better than sitting in a bar.

TunnocksTCake · 18/07/2023 10:50

@Mushroo thanks, havent been to the cinema for ages actually, will have a look whats on. Or Crazy golf also an option, we have a couple of cities nearby we can go to. :)

Mushroo · 18/07/2023 10:53

I told work today! Was super nervous but all worked out I think, manager was very happy for me.

Can breathe a sigh of relief now and just on the countdown to the 20 week scan! (3 weeks to goโ€ฆ!)

RaspberryTime · 18/07/2023 11:14

I ordered a pregnancy pillow at the weekend as am really struggling with the weight of my stomach when laying in bed (I dread to think what itโ€™s going to be like when I get bigger!) Itโ€™s being delivered today and I cannot wait ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I also have found myself on my back a few times which Iโ€™m hoping this will help with too.

TunnocksTCake · 18/07/2023 11:23

Well done @Mushroo, its so nerve wracking isnt it!? Glad they were happy for you.

Mushroo · 18/07/2023 11:34

@TunnocksTCake so nerve wracking! Especially as Iโ€™ve not been there that long. Glad itโ€™s done :)

youaremysunshine03 · 18/07/2023 11:38

Iโ€™ll be getting all the vaccines, I donโ€™t see any reason not to and think the benefit far outweighs any risks.

We are really struggling with names! Thereโ€™s none that either of us love or are set on. So have decided not to think about it anymore until we know the gender ๐Ÿ˜‚ finding out next Friday!!! Eek.

Iโ€™ll probably get my pregnancy pillow back out soon but I didnโ€™t really get on with it during my first pregnancy so not sure how itโ€™ll go! I found it just took up too much space and I still couldnโ€™t get that comfy. There was a brief few weeks where I loved it but then I gave up and just put an extra pillow between my knees.

Salamander91 · 18/07/2023 12:29

@TunnocksTCake it's my birthday soon. I'm making my DH take me to the barbie movie and then the arcade because apparently I haven't grown up yet ๐Ÿ˜‚

suz2285 · 18/07/2023 12:51

@Salamander91 I can't find anyone to go see barbie with me ๐Ÿ˜‚ all my friends are already going with someone else so I might have to go alone I really want to see it!

TunnocksTCake · 18/07/2023 13:07

@Salamander91 oooh I forgot about the barbie film!!
also now craving cinema popcorn after all this talk!

LittleAlien24 · 18/07/2023 13:33

My birthday is a week to two before baby will be born (depends when they doing the csection) so i don't think I'll be doing anything for my birthday and i don't like the fact im turning 40 ๐Ÿ˜‚
Not sure about will i get the pregnancy pillow or not. At the moment I've just a pillow between my legs.
I have no idea what this barbie movie is about ๐Ÿ˜‚ all i know is that my teenagers are talking about it. Think older is planning to go to cinema with dad to see it lol and younger one is waiting it to be put on box.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 18/07/2023 14:30

For names, Ruaridh is my husbandโ€™s favourite. I quite like it (Roo as a nickname is cute when heโ€™s young) but our first son already has a name thatโ€™s easy to misspell and I think this name will be worse and with pronunciation issues too. Weโ€™re in Scotland and it was ranked around 50th last year so itโ€™s not out there but I prefer more international names. My favourite at the moment is Daniel although Iโ€™m not that excited about it. I have spent ages going through name books and sites hoping Iโ€™ll see a name I love but not happened. If we were having a girl she likely would have been Lorelei. Also really like Sylvie.

On vaccines, will definitely get them all. Iโ€™m dreading getting colds at winter when thereโ€™s pressure on my lungs so really couldnโ€™t deal with the flu.

I think Indiana Jones is out at the cinema now too. I was going to see it yesterday as husband and I were off work but we just had a lazy day at home and rented Renfield which was fun. Nicolas Cage makes an amusing Dracula.

MustIthough · 18/07/2023 15:55

So finally got my 12 week scan (at 13w6d) was so looking forward to it after seeing you guys scans the last few weeks. First pregnancy so amazing to see moving dancing baby.
many guesses on gender?

MustIthough · 18/07/2023 15:58

Also, if anyone out there has experience telling just about adult age step children about pregnancy let me know! Hoping to tell them this weekend coming, just want it to go down well. Not convinced it will.

Noodle89 · 18/07/2023 16:12

@lilluce95 is the 6ft pregnancy pillow long enough to wrap round u like the one in the picture?

lilluce95 · 18/07/2023 16:19

@Noodle89 you can deffo fold it up but it doesn't wrap around you very well! I only use it to wrap my leg around and rest my head on though โ˜บ๏ธ wasn't so bothered about having anything supporting my back as such

sashastuck · 18/07/2023 16:45

@MustIthough I think girly! X

TunnocksTCake · 18/07/2023 18:31

@ThomasinaLivesHere and others who have said no names are singing to them - I had this with my first and so wanted to fall in love with a name but it never happened we just went for the one we liked the most out of our list/ the one we kept returning to. There wasn't a love for it but now it's hers I love it.
Just to say don't pressure yourselves to find one that you LOVE, it may not happen!

LittleAlien24 · 18/07/2023 19:42

@MustIthough don't have experience with almost adult age stepkids, my OH kids are all grown up. To be honest then their father told them the news, i just got them siblings mugs like i did for my kids. Think what made it easier was that he told them beforehand that we trying. My kids are 16 and 18 and when i told them (OH was on on video call with us) my 18 years old start crying lol with happiness ๐Ÿ˜Š

These pregnancy hormones are driving me crazy. I was on video call with my OH and was talking about the names and all i got back was names from star wars or somewhere like that and i just lost it. Asked him can he for once take this name thing seriously and that I'll talk to him when he can. Feel stupid now.
Then trying to watch tv and do something on my phone but my teenager would just not shut up, just kept talking and talking and pointless things. Thankfully i didn't snap at her.
On top of that i had to type all this twice ๐Ÿ˜ฃ because after typing it up first, instead of press post i pressed back button ๐Ÿ˜
