@Luhou good to hear your scan went well.
I feel like a baby bird with food lol tiny amounts and often ๐Ÿ˜
@RaspberryTime great news on your scan.

Hummusanddipdip · 15/07/2023 09:27

I also woke up to my results through the post this morning.

1 in 748 for Downs syndrome
1 in 5000 for Edwards/pataus syndrome

I'm 32. I had a look and in comparison with ds (I was 28 at the time, almost 5 years ago)

1 in 2000 for Downs syndrome
1 in 5000 for Edwards/pataus syndrome

So I guess my age has had an impact on those chances?

Redpanda21 · 15/07/2023 09:40

@RaspberryTime Good results

@Hummusanddipdip i think it depends on various factors. What were your NT measurement and Papp A.

My last results 2 years ago at 36 was 1 in 10000 for downs and 1 in 9464 for pataus. My NT was 2.2 and Papp a was 0.89.

Iโ€™m dreading my results this time round as NT was 2.6 (but on Badger itโ€™s 2.7). Iโ€™m 38 now. Think Iโ€™ll come back high risk.

@Hummusanddipdip on the NHS website it says that anything lower than 1 in 150 is considered low risk so that's a good result โ˜บ๏ธ

youaremysunshine03 · 15/07/2023 09:56

@Redpanda21 my NT was 3!! So donโ€™t worry. It still came back 1 in 10,000

Matildahoney · 15/07/2023 10:25

@Redpanda21 it is based mainly on age, I'm 40 (they class as 41 cos I'm in my 41st year) my nt was 2.1, but HCG(?) Was 3.3 and they like it to be high, so we came back 1:54, NIPT has come back low risk. The NHS system is so antiquated, if we had another I'd go straight for an NIPT to save the stress! Good luck! Xx

This is probably going to highlight how little I know and how much of a novice I am! ๐Ÿ™ˆ Ar what point do we get to hear baby's heartbeat? I'm dying to listen to it!

Matildahoney · 15/07/2023 11:13

@FirstT1meMum I'm in the same boat as you!
I believe it's the 16 week appointment.

sashastuck · 15/07/2023 11:33

@FirstT1meMum 16 week appointment theyโ€™ll listen with you but at 12 week scan and private scans I heard it too x

Kalodin · 15/07/2023 12:18

Not all trusts listen in at 16 weeks, mine doesn't!

buckingmad · 15/07/2023 12:24

16 weeks ish. Can still be a bit hit and miss though. Iโ€™m in York and they said 16 weeks but my first in Surrey I donโ€™t think I heard until 24ish.

RG9895 · 15/07/2023 12:29

I've got my 16 week midwife appointment next week (even though ill only be 15 weeks) and pretty sure she said they will listen then, I can't wait! X

buckingmad · 15/07/2023 14:49

So do I! Next Friday and Iโ€™ll be 15+4. Hope they find it quickly, I HATE the wait whilst you wait for them to find it.

Then gender scan the Friday after. Itโ€™s our DDโ€™s 2nd bday party the week after that and Iโ€™m going to make gender reveal cupcakes for all the guests to bite into at the same time. Weโ€™re way too self conscious to find out in front of everyone so going to take DD to the scan and find out there and then but keep it a secret from everyone else until the party.

RG9895 · 15/07/2023 14:52

@buckingmad me too! I'm especially nervous since I've had covid, just wanna make sure all is ok. Think I might have a breakdown if they cant find it! Haha

That will be lovely! Ours is the Wednesday after and we are doing the same! Finding out together then sharing at the reveal on the Sunday โ˜บ๏ธ

FirstT1meMum · 15/07/2023 14:55

Ah thank you! Hopefully not too long to wait then! ๐Ÿคž we're having a private gender scan on the 25th then 16 week appointment the day after!

Hummusanddipdip · 15/07/2023 15:17

@Redpanda21 my NT was 1.8 according to paperwork they gave me at scan, but I can't seem to see my Papp A details anywhere. North West Anglia don't use the badger app (well, at least Peterborough hospital doesn't) so I couldn't check in there, I do have my pregnancy notes website and grow 2.0, so would it be on either of those anywhere?

sashastuck · 15/07/2023 16:07

I canโ€™t believe weโ€™re finding out the gender of our babies soon. What on earth!!

FirstT1meMum · 15/07/2023 16:23

@sashastuck I know, it's crazy isn't it?! Only feels like 2 minutes ago I was looking at that positive stick!!

Noodle89 · 15/07/2023 18:21

I've got my next midwife appointment in just over 2 weeks so I'll be 17+2 then so I'm hoping she can find the heartbeat quickly ๐Ÿ’“ then I've booked a private gender scan for 5 days after that at 18 weeks. Can't wait but still so long to go

Kalodin · 15/07/2023 19:23

Still feels like an age away until my Dating scan! Will finally be having it Wednesday ๐Ÿคž

lilluce95 · 15/07/2023 20:24

@Hummusanddipdip I also use my pregnancy notes and would like to know this! There's some information if you click 'clinical records' I think but none of my results have been uploaded x

Onedayatatime24 · 15/07/2023 20:53

I had no idea they might listen to baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I really hope they do it where I am!!

Matildahoney · 15/07/2023 21:55

What else do they do other than heartbeat at your 16 week?

buckingmad · 15/07/2023 22:42

Matildahoney · 15/07/2023 21:55

What else do they do other than heartbeat at your 16 week?

Urine, blood and blood pressure probably. Might also measure fundal height.

LittleAlien24 · 15/07/2023 23:01

It's so weird and actually sad for me to read you haven't heard yer babies heart beats ๐Ÿ˜”
I had my first appointment with my gp/gyne when i was 6 weeks pregnant to make sure i didn't have ectopic again. After he confirmed everything was ok he said he's gonna try to see can we hear the heartbeat. He didn't give up until we (me and my 2 teenagers) heard it.
After that I had appointment with OB when i was 7 weeks and she made sure to check the heartbeat and she's been doing that every time (every 2 to 3 weeks).
I have my next OB appointment on 25 July so really hoping we can find out the gender but if this baby is anything like my other 2 then probably not lol
