@Kalodin i know it's hard but don't be disheartened. Well i haven't gone to gym since i was a teenager lol but i was able to do things in the house. Like i packed whole household together, packed everything in the van and trailer (to trailer 3 times because of the weight ๐Ÿ˜) when we moved to another country and now after I walk upstairs i have to take a break lol packing and sorting stuff again and can't do it longer than 30 to 40 minutes so the fact you able to go gym and do something is impressive ๐Ÿ˜Š

@Lightningrain can't really give much advice because my youngest is 16 and never had one. I have looked at the travel systems and pushed them but find them flimsy and not easy to push plus the plastic wheels were noisy. And me myself won't trust the car seat they come with. We drive a lot so i want to make sure I've more comfortable and safer one. We still have the buggy from my 16 year old, it looks like new and is so easy to maneuver even with 1 hand. It's a 3 wheeler with big rubber wheels. It doesn't have the big carrycot but has the soft edge one that you use for babies.
With my first we got the light graco stroller and i hated it, sold it after few months. With my youngest we used the big buggy until she started walking properly.

@buckingmad that's im afraid of, i might find it flimsy lol looking at the pictures i do think that material looks cheap. have to go and nose around can i find it here in shops to see what i think.

Thanks everyone for their input on car seats

suz2285 · 12/07/2023 10:53

@Kalodin I was running regularly earlier in the year but the first trimester I did zero! I have just started to get back to doing some small home workouts, yoga/Pilates and light weights! But the midwife said walking was good enough ๐Ÿ˜‚ I haven't gone back out running and tbh not planning to, I get out of breath walking up a hill- hormones!! So yeah, don't be too disheartened, with weights it usually comes back quickly you'll get nice beginning gains again!!

PartRadish · 12/07/2023 11:34

Car seat wise we're going for the Avionaut Pixel Pro this time. It's apparently one of the best/safest fits for teeny/prem babies and my boys were 6lb, 4lb and 1.6lb at birth so even if she stays in to term (๐Ÿคž) I think we will still be expecting a dinky one. I also like that it's compatible with maxi cosi pram adaptors so will fit on most prams and it's one of the lightest seats on the market, I'm a weakling ๐Ÿ˜†

Flossiepot · 12/07/2023 11:36

Oooh good info on the push chairs and car seats. I'm currently looking at an Ocarro deal with cybex cloud T car seat included - has anyone used / heard about these car seats?
Also when is it ok to buy these sort of things? ๐Ÿ™ˆ

PartRadish · 12/07/2023 11:39

I can't stop eating salt and vinegar crisps. Yesterday I ate 5 bags ๐Ÿ˜ณ Not in one go! Over the course of about 16 hours but still. I have limited myself to Walkers Baked because they have much less saturated fat but I know it's really bad ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I've had the last two in the house already today and I've told dh not to buy anymore and I won't either. I can't trust myself round them ๐Ÿฅด

suz2285 · 12/07/2023 11:48

@PartRadish ๐Ÿ˜‚ that's not that bad, it's not the worst thing ever!

JaffaCake123 · 12/07/2023 11:52

@Flossiepot we got the Occarro with the Cybex Cloud Z carseat for our first and it was great. I liked the lie flat option and being able to spin it when docking in the car, which really helped my back. The seat is very sturdy but I did struggle lifting it when he got bigger. He is 15 months now and we leave the seat in thecar and just lift he in and out.
We bought it after our 20 week scan as it was in the black Friday sale but it is up to you, just hold on for a good deal ๐Ÿ™‚

PartRadish · 12/07/2023 11:53

Well Potato is still a vegetable, getting that 5 a day I guess ๐Ÿ˜‚

Noodle89 · 12/07/2023 12:06

I've never been able to afford to buy prams brand new always ended up with second hand ones which helps keep the cost down and most travel systems haven't had much use as I find people tend to switch to a lightweight buggy by the time their baby has reached around 6-8 months and can sit up by themselves. Will be the same this time round ๐Ÿ˜… I'm lucky that my friend has put her travel system aside ready for me to use when little one comes along. Its the Babylo Panorama XT 2 in 1 travel system.

Noodle89 · 12/07/2023 12:09

Also I've just caved and booked a gender scan for 6th August when I will be 18 weeks ๐Ÿ™ˆ I wasn't going to, I was going to wait till end of August for my 20 week scan but husband wouldn't be able to make it due to work commitments and I didn't feel right finding out without him or with someone else so I've booked one privately with peek-a-baby so we can find out together. I haven't told him, think I might keep it as a surprise on the day ๐Ÿ˜Š

Kalodin · 12/07/2023 13:25

Thank you @LittleAlien24 and @suz2285 - it's just so hard not to compare to what I know my body can do. Especially as I was training for comps beforehand. Very grateful to be pregnant though.

That was me @PartRadish a couple weeks ago! Mental how our bodies make us crave these things.

I'm still hooked onto steaks and ice cubes.

That's a really lovely idea @Noodle89 , is special finding out together. Make a moment of it

RG9895 · 12/07/2023 14:04

Ive tested positive for covid, I'm so unwell and can't help but worry about baby and google really hasn't helped ๐Ÿ˜ž have any of you had covid during your pregnancy?

Redpanda21 · 12/07/2023 14:14

@RG9895 I had it when my baby was 6 weeks old. And we both had it.

Just keep very hydrated and rest up. Warm drinks to loosen any mucus. Honey and lemon is good.

Shouldnโ€™t be an issue with baby. Hope you feel better soon xx

TunnocksTCake · 12/07/2023 14:37

@RG9895 I know loss of people who had it when pregnant the first time round in 2020/2021 and all fine, it is much milder now and you have been vaccinated so you will both be fine just take care of yourself and make sure you rest, horrible at any time but especially when preggers!

RaspberryTime · 12/07/2023 14:46

Opinions please -
I know all the rules around eggs (cooked firm unless lion stamp etc) butโ€ฆ if you were having a brunch out which included eggs, would you feel the need to ask if the eggs used are lion stamped? Or would you just go for it?

RaspberryTime · 12/07/2023 14:47

@RG9895 No experiences to share but I hope you feel better soon x

suz2285 · 12/07/2023 14:49

@RaspberryTime is it in the uk? If so it'll be totally fine ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bims2019 · 12/07/2023 14:53

@RaspberryTime I agree, if it's in the UK then I'd assume it was fine ๐Ÿ˜Š

@RG9895 also no experience but hope you feel better soon, get lots of rest and stay hydrated!

Mummyme87 · 12/07/2023 15:51

@RG9895 sorry you have Covid. Iโ€™ve just had a nasty cold, may have been the cov. I know loads of people who have been pregnant with it, just rest and stay hydrated.

sashastuck · 12/07/2023 16:01

@RG9895 sorry and hope you feel better soon! Loads of hot drinks and keep wrapped up (even in this heat)โ€ฆ I think someone on this thread had covid pregnant a month or so ago. Youโ€™ll be okay โค๏ธ

sashastuck · 12/07/2023 16:02

Oh and regarding cravingsโ€ฆ Iโ€™m still hooked on the Tesco prawn mayo sandwiches! Best part of my day is grabbing one on the way home from work (if only I could afford it every day ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Bims2019 · 12/07/2023 16:05

@sashastuck that's a great craving, I ended up buying one a few weeks ago because you mentioned it ๐Ÿ˜‚ today I really craved egg fried rice so had a Chinese for lunch. So much for healthy eating! ๐Ÿคฃ

Pretty sure they recently changed the guidance so that as long as itโ€™s lion stamped you can have runny/raw eggs now too. So Iโ€™d say as long as in the uk I think youโ€™ll be fine.

LittleAlien24 · 12/07/2023 17:43

@RaspberryTime never heard this about eggs. I've been having 2 fried eggs with 2 slices of bread since weeks before i found out im pregnant and i still do, every single morning ๐Ÿ˜

Think i can kinda call it a craving because Im having 2 fried eggs with 2 slices of bread every morning and for lunch baguette cut half, then one half with tuna and other with sliced tomato ๐Ÿ˜‚

As long as you're ok, I'm pretty sure most places use lion stamped eggs.

Ohh @buckingmad I wish it was recent ๐Ÿคฃ they changed the legislation the same week I had my booking appointment with ds... he turned 4 at the weekend. Still a fairly recent change, but after covid, 4 years feels a lifetime ago now

Thanks for all the pram recs, we had a travel system for ds, I think we'll do it again, it was so easy being able to pop the frame up and slip the car seat into place.
