@Matildahoney great news, really pleased for you!

Noodle89 · 10/07/2023 22:15

@Luhou I'm the same.. 14 +1 today. im overweight, high bmi and last few days the top of my stomach has popped out, it's uncomfortable. Feel so bloated. Makes me look so much bigger then normal. Wish I could actually look pregnant instead of just fat. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

JaffaCake123 · 10/07/2023 22:26

@Matildahoney that is wonderful news ๐Ÿฅฐ

Mummyme87 · 10/07/2023 22:42

@Luhou I have a higher up bump due to having fat and previous baby overhang. Iโ€™ve ordered some maternity jeans in the next sale, need some dresses though, severe lack of clothing

Matildahoney · 10/07/2023 22:44

@Noodle89 @Bims2019 @JaffaCake123 thank you so much!

On the bump front I'm huge! I keep getting asked if there's only one in there!

Gremlin84 · 10/07/2023 22:57

Hoping โ€œreturn of the bloatโ€ passes soon. Felt amazing at the weekend but today has been all the smoosh and bloating and associated sicky feeling. I thought according to the pregnancy tracker app things we were all supposed to feel like amazing, energetic goddesses in the second trimester. Lies!

Luhou · 11/07/2023 06:27

@Noodle89 @Mummyme87 I have found that maternity clothes make me look like I have a proper baby bump. My work trousers which cut me in half and are now secured with a hair tie just make me look I have a tyre of fat above and below the waist band. Good knickers make a difference too, up till now just been wearing my more stretchy ones but think I might get some maternity ones.

Kalodin · 11/07/2023 08:00

Seconding what @Luhou Says. Fit of clothes and underwear makes a huge difference. Also, the tighter clothes do make me feel so queasy too.

Talking of feeling queasy... woken up like a new woman this morning! Don't feel ill at all anymore!

LittleAlien24 · 11/07/2023 08:26

@TunnocksTCake I've been suffering with piles since after my first pregnancy. Over the counter creams never helped me. Had them badly again last year. I took 1 raw potato, washed it properly, grated it, placed on piles, cover it with clean cloth and put underwear over it. Hold it there until potato went dry and just removed it. Did it about 3 times a day (over night as well) for 2 days and i was fine.

@Hummusanddipdip lovely bump. Took picture of mine last night and looks similar size, just more fat "handles" on sides lol
Wish i could wear over the bump clothes but they make me feel nauseous ๐Ÿ˜•

Had my endocrinologist appointment yesterday and she had to up my medicine because levels are still a bit too high for 2nd trimester ๐Ÿ˜”
Next week to see my hematologist and hoping she will finally send me to blood test to check are the injections working properly.
And then 25th july seeing my obstetrician again and she said she'll measure my cervix to see has it changed and do i need stitches now or we can wait or hopefully don't need at all. Hoping she can tell me as well the gender on this scan. Well to my daughter because she wants to bake a cake for us to find out the gender ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hope everyone who's feeling sick or having colds are gonna be better soon.

TunnocksTCake · 11/07/2023 09:23

@LittleAlien24 raw potato! Well I never! I will have to try that, DH is away tonight so perfect time to try!
I am definitely showing, especially by the end of the day. Second pregnancy so I guess its to be expected. I am luckily feeling loads better all of a sudden, I was able to stay awake all day (no nap!) and until 11pm on Saturday which I havent been able to do for months, feels so good to be out of the woods. Still quite breathless and definitely hormonal, cried after sex last night because I felt like a huge hippo๐Ÿ˜ณ
I really need to tell work today but I hate announcing things like this, I just dont know how to do it! But if I dont the bump will soon enough.... I have a consultant appt on 25th in the middle of the day so I need to ask for the time off for that.

LittleAlien24 · 11/07/2023 09:46

@TunnocksTCake yes raw potato ๐Ÿ˜ think it was the starch in potato that helps. The more times you do it the better it helps. After first 2 times i got rid of the uncomfortable feeling and pain. Then like i said about 3 times for 2 days and they were gone.

RG9895 · 11/07/2023 10:34

I just got my combined screening in the post! Low chance 1 in 5000 for both although I cant help but worry that I've seen others have much lower odds! Im only 25 as well and I know thats a factor. Can I ask what everyone else had please?

Lightningrain · 11/07/2023 10:57

Iโ€™m 14+4 today and have woken up with an awful headache and feeling nauseous. Iโ€™m still not sleeping well through the night so maybe itโ€™s catching up with me.

Iโ€™ve just realised itโ€™s Amazon Prime day and having to resist looking at baby things. Weโ€™d decided to wait until weโ€™d cleared the room that will be the nursery before buying anything but itโ€™s so tempting. Has anyone else started buying anything yet? I like to be super organised with everything but DH is much more laidback!

Mummyme87 · 11/07/2023 11:09

@Lightningrain we donโ€™t really have much to buy, a new pram and Iโ€™m keen for a new car seat but have other stuff and wonโ€™t be doing a nursery as we are hoping to move house next year.
I have bought some baby grows though and a few new cloth nappies

TunnocksTCake · 11/07/2023 11:10

@RG9895 I remember mine being in the 'low' for my daughter but only just, I was shocked how high it was at the time. I still dont know why they werent lower but she was born completely healthy with no abnormalities. I didnt get any more tests. I cant remember the figures now but will look it up when I get home.

I really want my results back now, its been 11 days which I know is a good sign but I just want the paper in front of me.

RG9895 · 11/07/2023 11:23

@TunnocksTCake ahh so glad! Thats reassuring! Thank you! Please do

I hope you get yours soon! Mine took 8 days although the letter was dated only 2 days after I had my scan!

Lilothblos · 11/07/2023 11:34

@Lightningrain we bought a baby monitor, pretty early to be buying it but we knew which one we wanted and got ยฃ100 off. Itโ€™s the Cubo AI Plus, itโ€™s on offer ยฃ10 cheaper if you buy it direct rather than through Amazon too.

suz2285 · 11/07/2023 11:54

@RG9895 those odds are great! That is a 0.020% chance of any issues! You can't get much better than that... I have no idea right now cos of my baby not playing ball and I'm waiting for midwife to call me back about other tests, so I'd be super happy with those odds ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Lightningrain baby will be in our room so I'm not buying anything until way nearer the time! Otherwise my room is gonna be filled with clutter for months! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Kalodin · 11/07/2023 12:17

On the bloods taken at Booking (you'd think I'd remember after having previous pregnancies ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ) but is no news good news? I've not heard anything back, or should I chase?

suz2285 · 11/07/2023 12:28

Yeah no news is usually good news, i can see mine in badger notes but i know not everyone uses that, i can't see any results in there yet for mine and it's been a few weeks!

Kalodin · 11/07/2023 12:33

Still paper notes here @suz2285 - last arm of the trust to be using paper. I kind of find it satisfying having the paper ๐Ÿ˜…

Onedayatatime24 · 11/07/2023 12:54

@Kalodin I heard nothing from my booking appointment and just assumed no news was good news! They didn't mention anything at our 12 week scan either so assuming all fine.

@suz2285 can you see your results in badger notes? I can see what tests they've done but the results bit just says 'not published' - so annoying!

suz2285 · 11/07/2023 12:59

@Onedayatatime24 no results say not published for me but the midwife said they come back into the system and then she has to manually go and put them all on my record so considering they're doing that for everyone it's not a quick process ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

LittleAlien24 · 11/07/2023 13:45

@RG9895 im 39 and mine were down syndrome 1 to 3394 (for my age 1 to 84) and Edwards /patau 1 to 10000. Got email from doctor that everything good.

@Lightningrain baby will be with me in our room for at least a year. So far we have buggy from my youngest. bought high chair, feeding pillow 10 in 1, few toys, some clothes, bouncer and snuggle nest. Older daughter bought already a rocking horse ๐Ÿ˜ and some clothes for her baby sibling ๐Ÿ˜Š
Not doing nursery or buy too much because we planning to move hopefully next year and dragging stuff from one country to another is not reasonable or easy ๐Ÿ˜

Salamander91 · 11/07/2023 13:47

I ordered a car seat and a play mat in the amazon day sale ๐Ÿ˜…this is baby #4 for us but youngest is 6 so we don't have any baby things.
