@flowerpot258 Gosh, I can barely look after myself when I feel like this so all credit to you for looking after your little one too.

The biggest issue I find is that it’s always in the afternoons/evenings and I work afternoons. Eugh! Roll on second trimester!

Mushroo · 02/07/2023 18:04

@RaspberryTime @flowerpot258 i have developed a stinking cold today, headache and temperature.

Feel gross! Spent the afternoon drinking water, watching the Titanic and feeling sorry for myself. Don’t know how you do it with other kids!

RaspberryTime · 02/07/2023 18:07

@Mushroo Nightmare! Although it sounds as though you’re doing the right thing taking it easy. I’ve had three naps already since midday 😂

Mushroo · 02/07/2023 18:13

@RaspberryTime yup, lots of naps here too! Hopefully we’ll feel better soon

Matildahoney · 02/07/2023 18:40

I also get it when I cough and sneeze and also hold my tummy so it's less painful, mine is always right side pain though, has been since early on so I was worried it could have been an ectopic, but nothing was mentioned at our 8 week scan!
I've also found when I go for a walk or walk a long (ish) distance I get an ache in and around my pubic bone I guess you'd describe it was, very odd and uncomfortable!
Nausea comes now and again, but I'm 13+4 today, scan is tomorrow which I am so nervous for! I just want to know everything's ok!

suz2285 · 02/07/2023 18:54

@Hummusanddipdip mine is on my left side too, my scan is 11.25 but I'm in a meeting in the morning and I'll have to leave at 11... hoping to just go home after the scan! Mine is more nerve than excitement I just feel like there's just more chance of something being wrong 🙈

@RaspberryTime I feel worse in the afternoon/evening too, it's rubbish!

@Matildahoney that sounds like the pain I'm having too! It's quite achy! Good luck for your scan 🤞🤞

LittleAlien24 · 02/07/2023 19:06

@Olivebranch21 hi and welcome. My due date is also 13 January but im having planned cesarean about a week earlier 😔
@Matildahoney good luck for your scan tomorrow

RaspberryTime · 02/07/2023 19:11

@suz2285 I’m pleased to hear other people are experiencing the same thing - I thought I was just living an upside down existence! It plays havoc with dinner times though doesn’t it…I’m finding I’m eating increasingly weird evening meals.

suz2285 · 02/07/2023 19:16

@RaspberryTime I've been like this from the beginning, I struggled to eat my dinner for weeks!! But I'm not as bad now I'm a bit further along, though yes I'm eating totally random combos for dinner cos I don't fancy anything 😂 tonight I had a bean burger, some olives and hummus....

Two nights ago I made gammon and chips and sweetcorn and it took me 2 days to eat it, split over 2 nights 😂 I enjoy breakfast tho so I try to eat something I really want in the mornings!

RaspberryTime · 02/07/2023 19:38

@suz2285 I’m exactly the same, breakfast has become my favourite meal of the day! In fact, I also often have cereal for dinner too…I hope the baby doesn’t end up looking like a Weetabix 😂😂

JaffaCake123 · 02/07/2023 19:42

Good luck with the scan tomorrow @Matildahoney . I have got mine on the 11th 🥰

Misspotterscat · 02/07/2023 19:48

I’ve also been having that stabbing pain when sneezing and feel worse at night! Nice to read these are both relatively normal.

good luck to those who have scans this week 🥰

suz2285 · 02/07/2023 20:09

@RaspberryTime yes to cereal for dinner! 😂 I had that for dinner last night

Tonight I had a plain bean burger, just the burger no bun, olives and hummus 😂

suz2285 · 02/07/2023 20:09

@RaspberryTime and apparently the bean burger was so good I decided to tell you twice 🙈 when can we start blaming baby brain cos I'm def not all there right now 😂

RaspberryTime · 02/07/2023 20:15

@suz2285 😂 I’m pretty sure baby brain is fully a thing already. I’m a tutor and twice last week I took the wrong child’s folder to their lessons! Still, better than the afternoon I was so bloated I ended up doing the world’s most awful burp whilst working with a pupil 🙈😂

Mushroo · 02/07/2023 20:17

Baby brain is so real already! I forgot whether or not I’d showered the other morning.

Was adamant I hadn’t until DH pointed out the wet towel!

suz2285 · 02/07/2023 20:27

@RaspberryTime oh god yeah the burps and bloating, it's such a glamorous time

@Mushroo 😂 that's funny! Least it wouldn't of been too bad to have another shower but hilarious that you just totally forgot!

I'm already bad enough for checking I've locked the doors etc but def need to be double checking things now!

CarnelianArtist · 02/07/2023 20:29

@Olivebranch21 welcome! :)

So many wonderful scans! I'm due late January (as far as I know) so I'm behind the curve.

Finally feeling better from my cold. I feel a lot better from just not having that.🙂

I've realised sweet food makes me feel v odd. I think it's because I have pcos and high blood sugar but even the small desserts I had before aren't sitting right with me. 😩

Now my husband is away on a business trip though - just me and my four year old. So now he's settled I'm thinking, quick better wash pots, feed cat, attempt to reclaim lounge. Though I'd rather sleep. I'm also battling a daily deluge of ants, though disturbingly my 4 year old loves this.

How will I get through the week!? 😱Pray for me 🤣

Zzzzzz

That's funny. I have forgotten later in the day though but usually not immediately after. Though I can never find my phone. I'm trying to train my child to find it for me but it's not happening.

CarnelianArtist · 02/07/2023 20:36

@Gremlin84 I remember in my last pregnancy I had to stop reading the news on public transport as I'd be in floods of tears.

This time I burst into tears because my four year old said tidying was boring. Just crying... I know it's soo boring 😫 He said sorry then did a joke to make me laugh, which also made me cry. Poor guy! 🤣

sashastuck · 02/07/2023 20:50

I’ve also got pregnancy brain! I made 2 children do the same assessment twice last week by reading a spreadsheet wrong, twice. Bless them both, they didn’t say anything 😂 but I ended up having to rush around getting them to complete the right ones because of my stupid mistakes.

@CarnelianArtist aww bless him making a joke after! I’d cry too 🤣

RootsHere · 02/07/2023 21:28

Just to mention to all the new joiners, there’s a private Facebook group for Jan 2024 if anyone would like the link.

I’ve been so useless this weekend, spent it all in bed feeling like death while husband cooked, cleaned and looked after our 2.5 yo 😵‍💫 He’s going away for 12 days from Wednesday and I am absolutely dreading it, I hope the 2nd trimester is easier, technically starting on Friday 😞

Mummyme87 · 02/07/2023 21:47

I’ve got my nuchal scan on Thursday!!! 12weeks this week, can’t believe it.

Bims2019 · 02/07/2023 22:17

Another one with ligament pain when I cough/sneeze/make any movement at ALL during the night 🙋‍♀️ really glad I'm not the only one!

And baby brain is definitely already happening, I keep forgetting the right words for really obvious things 😂

Good luck to anyone with scans this week!

Hummusanddipdip · 02/07/2023 22:34

Thanks for the reminder @RootsHere I've just joined it. Wanted to wait for 12 weeks as a just in case, but had a just do it moment 🤣
