@Gremlin84 @Bims2019 @Matildahoney I always rave about these dresses but happy mama is great. Last time I gave them to my ft friend and they looked great https://happymama.co.uk/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnf-kBhCnARIsAFlg492P5Le0E2NxIulikmkiAzHFBrqylIzCGxNXyo0A5EDW6wcnAQUWG5gaAqnFEALw_wcB. I'll get more soon. I think with knee lynch dresses height doesn't matter so much.

Happy Mama

Ooh thanks @CarnelianArtist some lovely dresses on there and really reasonable too! Which is rare in the maternity world!
I have DPs brothers wedding in Sept I need to find a dress for!

CarnelianArtist · 01/07/2023 08:53

@LittleAlien24 it must be really difficult living in a project house when pregnant. I keep getting angry over things that need repairing here (it's not a project house but many things broke at once and the conservatory has subsidence). I just don't have the capacity for life admin I did so I can only imagine.

However try to remember when babies are born they don't crawl etc they don't need a lot. Just nappies, place to sleep, baby clothes.

Luhou · 01/07/2023 08:56

@Kalodin we are the same! Have managed for 2 years and had enough now. I am hoping that because it's a seperate extension and we won't be taking out current kitchen before new one goes in, it will hopefully not be to distruptive and I can consider doing works with small baby around.

CarnelianArtist · 01/07/2023 08:58

@Luhou oh no, that's not that bad throwing baby wipes if you weren't getting help - it wasnt a chair. Probably partly hormones and partly frustration that women do a lot and that isn't always recognised or appreciated. I hoped you sorted the issue.

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 09:01

Ah lovely dresses @CarnelianArtist ! Thanks for sharing on here!

The waiting room at this hospital's birth Centre is pretty decent with the facilities, my previous hospitals just had rows of chairs in a hallway

Luhou · 01/07/2023 09:16

@CarnelianArtist yeah, not my best moment but just felt overwhelmed. All fine here now, just a moment of hormonal mess.

Hummusanddipdip · 01/07/2023 09:16

@Luhou and @Kalodin I grew up in a project house, I don't think mum and dad finished it before I was 13 🤣

We're in the process of having the garage converted to an office for dh so that the top end of the livingroom can be cleared as a play area for the children (basically hidden behind the sofa) was supposed to happen in October, but when I emailed the builder to confirm he said the nearest availability will be the New Year... so looks like building work with a newborn is going to happen here.

I'd got myself all geared up last night to tell me 3 best friends that I am pregnant this morning. But woke up to a message in the group chat to tell me one of them was in theatre last night having a fallopian tube removed due to an ectopic, and now I don't know what to do... they all know how hard the past 2 years have been for me with trying to get pregnant, but equally, I don't want to upset her.

PartRadish · 01/07/2023 09:36

Just had our NIPT results. Really quick, bloods only arrived at the lab on Wednesday!

Everything has come back low risk and after 3 boys we're having a little girl 😭

I can't believe it, I'm in shock! 😂 I fully expected and was more than happy with another boy, my boys are all completely different and just amazing. I can't wait to see them with a sister though 😍 I cant believe we're going to have a daughter...

CarnelianArtist · 01/07/2023 09:45

@Hummusanddipdip oh no, your poor friend. That's really sad 😔. I think I'd wait a week or two so the initial shock of the operation is over. Maybe message individually and not face to face to allow her to process it. However I think as sad as it is, people will still get pregnant and still have to tell people.

sashastuck · 01/07/2023 09:47

Aww what amazing news @PartRadish congratulations!💖

@Hummusanddipdip ahh what a tough situation. Maybe give it a week now? I suppose the silver lining is that you didn’t tell them yesterday, not knowing what your friend is going through. Or could you tell the other 2 friends separately and say to keep it shush for a couple of weeks?

I haven’t been able to keep up with this thread but hope everyone is doing okay, hope your booking appt was good @Kalodin .

I’ve had a mini panic this morning, I was reading What to Expect and it said not to use T-Gel shampoo whilst pregnant. I’ve been using it once or twice a week! Have emailed midwife but I’m sure it’ll be okay, right? Hopefully just one of those that is not recommended due to lack of research.

CarnelianArtist · 01/07/2023 09:48

Is anyone else getting hungry in the night? I eat plenty of filling food. My last meal is 6:30-7 bed 9:30 (I know, boring but we're up early 🤣) does anyone else have this problem? Do you recommend a supper? Last time I gained 3.5 stone overall! Though I lost it all, I'm trying to keep it down a bit.

Hummusanddipdip · 01/07/2023 10:09

Thanks @CarnelianArtist and @sashastuck I think I'll give it a week or so. To be honest, was going to announce to the wider family (they're also relations, so not just close friends) in a couple of weeks due to a family wedding this weekend (so much happening in such a short space of time), so I might tell them individually and then tell the rest of the family a week later than was initially going to.

And yes to the late night munchies, usually around 11pm sometimes as late as waking me at 2am 🤦‍♀️

suz2285 · 01/07/2023 10:20

@PartRadish great news! 💖

@Hummusanddipdip your poor friend! See what happens and how you feel about it, I feel like there's never a right time!

Bims2019 · 01/07/2023 10:35

@PartRadish congratulations, so lovely that you're having a girl!

@CarnelianArtist those dresses look great, thank you! And not too pricey either 👍

@Hummusanddipdip sorry about your friend, that is a difficult one. I agree with leaving it a few days then messaging her separately so she can process in private, it will probably still be hard but at least you've gone about it in a sensitive way.

@Luhou @Kalodin interesting to hear about your project houses. We have been planning to do some work which includes a new kitchen and converting the garage, plans are currently going through approval but then we need to find builders etc. Was hoping to get it done before January but not sure that's realistic!

Bims2019 · 01/07/2023 11:15

Got my letter through this morning for the combined test results, all lower risk! Very relieved after another terrible night's sleep 😅

After seeing a lot of you find out I really want to know if it's a boy or girl now!

ItsAJourney · 01/07/2023 12:52

@Kalodin Good luck with your booking appointment. I had mine yesterday and it all feels even more real now!

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 12:58

What awful news about your friend @Hummusanddipdip - like others have said I'd wait a couple weeks. I'd also text your friend whose just had the loss with your news, I really struggled hearing news face to face, and especially in front of others after my loss. But you do know your friend, and how she would prefer to hear.

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 13:01

How did yours go @ItsAJourney ? I feel like we are an age behind everyone else getting their scans 😂

My booking appointment was almost 2 hours long because of all my obstetric history but did go much better this time. MW I saw was lovely, kept me calm etc.

TunnocksTCake · 01/07/2023 13:11

Scan all good this morning, put me at 12w 6d when I thought I was 12+2! Had already been put a day ahead at the 8 week scan so it's a biggun!

suz2285 · 01/07/2023 14:43

@TunnocksTCake great scan though! Did the nhs move your dates forward with the extra measurement?

ItsAJourney · 01/07/2023 14:43

@Kalodin Oh wow, that is long but pleased it went well! Mine was good too. Only about hour and 15 but this is my first pregnancy so not too much background to go through. I was pleased that they said that at 38, I don’t yet count as geriatric. Lol!

You’re right, I think as we’re right at the end of the month, we’re almost 4 weeks behind a lot of others. I’ve just booked the Harmony test for next Thursday which comes with a dating scan so hopefully that will go well and give me added reassurance after the smaller measurement at the viability scan.

LittleAlien24 · 01/07/2023 15:09

@CarnelianArtist the normal side of my brain says i can't do anything faster and it's ok but the hormone side is panicking lol for now normal side is winning 😂
@Hummusanddipdip that's a tough one. Wait for a week or so but don't be surprised if your friend gets a bit distance from you or something like that. Obviously it might not happen but just in case.
@PartRadish that's brilliant news. Congratulations

I can't wait for my scan on Monday. Hopefully will get some nice and clear pictures and good news.

Dannic2018 · 01/07/2023 15:21

@TunnocksTCake i got a pic of its little foot too 😍. From my original dates I’m 10 days ahead so I’m thinking another big one too as I know when I had my period and we did the deed 🤣 so I’ll no doubt have the baby on my original dates like I did with the others but they class as I’m over!

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 19:48

Does feel a bit more real now having my pregnancy notes @ItsAJourney . I'm tempted to join you in that too, feels like am age since the early scan and like you, measured behind too.
