@Gremlin84 glad it's not just me! I'm the same, 5'2 here and always struggle to find clothes that fit 🙄

Onedayatatime24 · 30/06/2023 12:33

For those going for NIPT - is there any reason you're doing this if your NHS combined tests have come back low risk?

Is it just for additional reassurance or are the NHS tests known to be inaccurate? It's my first so overwhelmed with all the options, not sure what's best or what I need and don't want to pay out if it's not needed/going to cause more anxiety. TY

cossie13 · 30/06/2023 12:33

@Bims2019 honeslty? Vinted. I've bought a couple of work skirts off there and a pair of jeans (jeans were on the larger side after already being stretched, oops!) and they only cost me a couple of quid each. Otherwise, I like boohoo and H&M for maternity clothes 😊

I'm 4ft 11in so I know how you feel with height @Gremlin84!

Bims2019 · 30/06/2023 12:35

Thanks @cossie13 that's really helpful, I'll have a look at vinted and H&M!

LittleAlien24 · 30/06/2023 13:09

@Luhou it's ok, just these silly hormones. With my first i suddenly start scrubbing the oven, then in the middle of it start crying that the apartment is never gonna be ok for the baby. Now with my 3rd pregnancy we living in a big project house that looks like a building site. Im 12w tomorrow and i can feel anxiety kicking in that how im gonna be here with a baby. So far i haven't cried over it but i know i will lol i already warned my kids that some day i will suddenly start cleaning and organising and then start crying that nothing is ready and how we gonna do it etc 😂 oh and my OH lives in another country and most of the time he can't answer his phone or even text me so I've already started kinda giving out to him about it even tho my brain says to me i shouldn't lol
@Lilothblos blos good to hear everything is ok and congratulations on the news that it's a girl
@Misspotterscat erscat i had quite few days at 10w when i had no nausea or sore boobs. I was so happy. Well im 12w tomorrow and nausea is back and worse than before 😩

I've pain on my lower right side /kinda hip area today and it's giving shoots to back as well. Im trying to convince myself that it's probably the way i slept but im worried.

LittleAlien24 · 30/06/2023 13:12

@Lilothblos i don't know what happened there but it's meant to say it's good to hear not blos 🤔

Matildahoney · 30/06/2023 13:25

@Bims2019 @Gremlin84 I'm also 5"2, I've got a couple of the jersey smock dresses from new look in petite in normal size, there's loads of room, I bought some great maternity culottes from boohoo which are the perfect length, other than that I've got a few stretch Asda and shein dresses

Luhou · 30/06/2023 13:26

Thanks ladies you've given me reassurance that I'm not a horrible wife and mother and have just been taken over by hormones @LittleAlien24 I feel for you. We're also in a project house so much to do, feel like initially I kept putting pressure on everything being done before baby arrives, think I'm going to need to forget that idea.

LittleAlien24 · 30/06/2023 13:32

@Luhou my clear normal mind tells me that things won't be done before baby arrives but the side with these silly hormones keeps saying have to get most done lol i think we would have got most done but a while back we found out that we have to rewire the whole house and that's not cheap 😩

Luhou · 30/06/2023 13:44

@LittleAlien24 I feel you it's the work and the finances and stress of it all.

Bims2019 · 30/06/2023 14:56

@Matildahoney that's a good shout, I do have a couple of the smock dresses so maybe I'll invest in a few more. The culottes sound really comfy as well!

Matildahoney · 30/06/2023 15:52

@Bims2019 they are lovely! Soft, stretchy, quite thin, I lived in them on (UK) holiday last week! Debating wearing them to BST Hyde park tomorrow! Lots of my normal dresses still fit, but no chance with jeans etc! River island do some petite maternity stuff but crazy expensive, although their jeans are lovely, worth a vinted/eBay look.

Bims2019 · 30/06/2023 17:42

@Matildahoney you've sold them to me, off to find right now! I should have a browse on eBay and Vinted as well, sounds like there can be some good deals if you have the patience to look for them!

Hope everyone has nice weekend plans! We've started telling friends now which has been great, definitely makes it all feel more real as I still don't really feel pregnant. Have been invited to a nice cocktail bar on Sunday so hope they have some good alcohol free options!

Lightningrain · 30/06/2023 18:08

@Matildahoney thanks for the boohoo recommendation. I’ve just ordered some maternity jeans and jeggings as I can’t comfortably fit into my normal ones now.

Has anyone else found that the fatigue has really hit around 12 weeks? I’m 13 weeks today and for the past week I’ve felt totally exhausted. I’m not sure whether the multiple night waking’s for the toilet for the past few weeks have finally caught up on me as I’m sure I’m not spending much time in deep sleep. Some nights I’ve been up almost every hour. I’m feeling particularly bad in the early evening even if I manage to have a quick sleep during the day (I’ve never been able to nap in the day so it’s all very strange to me!)

suz2285 · 30/06/2023 20:03

@Lightningrain I dunno what happened to me this week but I've been waking up between 2-4 and not managing to get back to sleep until it's nearly time to get up, today I had a 2 hour nap and I'm still feeling exhausted

I can only think it's cos baby is growing so much at this stage! 🤷‍♀️ feel like everything is taking so much effort! I felt kinda more energy weeks 8-9 but it's been getting more tiring again since then! 😂

Flossiepot · 30/06/2023 20:36

Hi everyone, we had our 12 week scan today. 12w3d with a due date of 9th Jan 🥰♥️
All guesses welcome on the nub theory ☺️

ThomasinaLivesHere · 30/06/2023 20:40

@Flossiepot Congrats! I’ll guess boy.

Bims2019 · 30/06/2023 21:15

@Lightningrain I'm 13+3 today and the tiredness is unreal! I had it before but it eased off around the 10/11 week point, now it's come back with a vengeance. I'm knackered in the afternoon so try to nap, then come bedtime I can't drop off for ages and have to get up 2 or 3 times for a wee. It's exhausting!

Congrats @Flossiepot, lovely scan!

sashastuck · 30/06/2023 21:26

Aww @Flossiepot lovely! I’m going with girl!

Mummyme87 · 30/06/2023 22:35

Lovely scan @Flossiepot I’m going girl.

feeling pain on the left side of my public bone this eve, hope this isn’t the start of SPD. I suffered in previous pregnancies, first time from 25wks and second time about 18/19wks. Got my BF staying over before we drive up to derby for girls night and spa with other friends. She’s 30wks pregnant

LittleAlien24 · 01/07/2023 00:25

@Flossiepot im guessing girl

Misspotterscat · 01/07/2023 02:11

@cossie13 @Gremlin84 @buckingmad @LittleAlien24 Thank you, that is reassuring and I do feel a little better after posting my worries and hearing peoples experiences.

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 06:45

Really hope it isn't for you @Mummyme87 , really hoping you avoid it completely this time around. Are there any physios that you can see early? Does that sort of thing help?

Congratulations on the scan @Flossiepot - I'd also guess girl

Also living in a project house @Luhou And it's really hard to not keep thinking how it needs to get done before baby arrives. Instead I've said that before baby arrives I want to have the hallway, our bedroom and the boys bedroom complete (lounge already is) and have flooring down in the kitchen and bathroom at the very least, even if temporary

I've finally got my booking appointment today!! It's at the birth centre, so I'm going to ask if I can have a look around whilst there

Luhou · 01/07/2023 07:09

@Kalodin that's a good idea. I am just desperate for a kitchen, but we are having an extension for it. Builder instructed and think it's realistic to think building will be up but whether the kitchen itself is fitted I don't know!

Kalodin · 01/07/2023 07:13

That's like us, hoping we will eventually get an extension for the kitchen dining area too @Luhou - was hopefully for next year, but I'm so desperate for it to be done now. It's still a 1960s kitchen with only one plug! 😂
