Hi everyone! I think mumsnet cuts threads off at around 40 pages… here’s part 2 for when it does.

I posted on the first thread but haven’t been back since. I’m 5 weeks today, pregnant straight after a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I’ve been testing daily because I’m so anxious, but after getting this today I’m going to stop with these tests. I just want to get my 3+ on clearblue, then I’ll try and relax.

I don’t have any symptoms right now except slightly sore boobs and tiredness. hopefully I’ll have a scan in the next two weeks to check all is ok.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 27/05/2023 09:57

Yes to the digestive issues!! A couple of days of nothing then a day of not being able to stop, rinse and repeat 🤦‍♀️

I'm so sorry for the loss of one of your twins @Knov20 I hope the other goes strong!

And poor mini @Eirlys1986 that's not nice for him, ds hasn't had it yet, he's been quite lucky in the sickness department, but starts school in September, what's the betting we get everything going??

Has anyone else had irrationally sore boobs, to the point this morning that I yelped in pain and nearly hit dh because he groped me, literally put a hand on my bare boob and it was painful!

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 11:02

@Misspotterscat that test looks great as the test line is darker than the control, I had a similar test a few days ago and think I will be 6 weeks on Monday. Fingers crossed for your scan in a couple of weeks. I wouldn’t worry too much about lack of symptoms, some people’s bodies just react differently to the hcg increase to others so when you’re getting a good strong positive on a test I wouldn’t read much into only mild symptoms, it’s a good thing! 👍🏻 xxx
@Muriel84 enjoy the long weekend, have gotten DS to eat some lunch early by giving him yet another ice Lolly first to numb up his mouth. Needs must.

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 11:03

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese ps yes they likely will get everything when they go to school! 😂 do they go to nursery now? As soon as DS attended nursery it was literal constant illness from September till post Xmas last year…..urgh

RaspberryTime · 27/05/2023 12:50

Hit a new low this lunchtime - I recently changed from Clover to olive spread to try and be a bit healthier. Went to make a sandwich…the COLOUR of the olive spread made me feel sick 😩

Muriel84 · 27/05/2023 12:54

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese i haven’t had sore boobs yet I think I did last time. I was wondering if it’s cos I’m still BF? My friend who was still BF didn’t get sore boobs the second time.

@Misspotterscat thats a great test. I got my 3 weeks yesterday I haven’t tested apart from that since my scan last Monday but feeling very anxious today as more light brown spotting. I was testing once or twice a day with an IC. I have another scan booked in 10 days. The spotting stopped for 5 days so annoying it’s back. I remember having brown dc around this time with DS.

@Eirlys1986 thats great he’s eating and ice lollies are making him feel better! X

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 13:05

Thanks @Muriel84 , sorry the spotting is back, that is annoying, especially on your long weekend off where I’m sure you could’ve done without it making an appearance again! Xx

Dannic2018 · 27/05/2023 14:13

@Muriel84
im still breastfeeding and my nipples hurt when he feeds but I think everyone is different. I’m also on progesterone pessaries twice a day which is delightful 😩

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 27/05/2023 14:37

He's at nursery yes, but they seem to be an overly well bunch of children, there was chicken pox a year ago, they've had slapped cheek, hand foot and mouth and others go round more recently, but he's avoided it, same with covid, we've not had it (I'm a TA too, so very lucky as a household)

I made us all cheese toasties for lunch and I couldn't even stomach half of mine, but honeydew melon, I can't get enough of the stuff!!

MimosasInFrance · 27/05/2023 15:33

@Eirlys1986 do you mind if I ask what provider you are using for the harmony testing? We'd like to do this and would need to go private as not available on the NHS - but there are too many options!

So lovely to hear everyone's updates. We had a second scan last week at 6+5 as they're monitoring the bleed, so we saw the little heartbeat again. Can barely believe it. Another next week so we're lucky to have the reassurance.

Only very mild nausea when hungry here, my primary symptom is intense tiredness and I'm absolutely freezing constantly 😅 Plus my boobs feel absolutely enormous all of a sudden!

MimosasInFrance · 27/05/2023 15:34

My craving seems to be marmite and toast, especially first thing in the morning. So weird as I can take it or leave it usually! Must be the salt I think

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 15:55

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese sorry that lunch made you feel sick 😢, I must admit I found your choice of lunch item funny though given your username 🧀 😂 perhaps your little one has a good immune system already if they are surviving nursery without too many disasters!

@MimosasInFrance we are using a clinic called mums in Solihull. It’s very good and antenatal services run by obstetric consultants from birmingham

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 27/05/2023 16:39

@Eirlys1986 I'll be heart broken if I go off cheese 😞 I went off bacon with ds and craved salty foods, biggest was aunt bessies roast potatoes with added salt. But bacon, not at all, he was almost 2 before I could cook bacon again 🤣

@MimosasInFrance marmite is one of those funny ones, if on toast I have to have to melt some cheese over it 🤣

Have to say all these positive scan messages are so heartening and I'm half tempted to book myself one.

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 17:08

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese it would be especially sad given the username if you were to go off cheese! 😢 🧀. I could mostly only eat dry salty things for a long time- sour cream Pringles were a particular fav. Absolutely loathed food prep which I usually love, could not even think of touching a raw chicken breast 🤢. Really looking forward to this potentially all starting up in earnest again soon

Hopealive · 27/05/2023 18:09

Had my scan today at 6 weeks 5 days. All went well, I was dam worried before the scan as some of my symptoms disappeared. Hopefully it goes well till the end.

RaspberryTime · 27/05/2023 18:23

Has anybody got horrendously itchy nipples? 🙈And if so, any tips on how to relieve them? I’m at my wits end!

ItsAJourney · 27/05/2023 18:38

Hi all,

Excited to join you all as I got my first ever BFP this morning!! Think I’m due at some point towards the end of January. This will be my first baby, age 38, conceived with help of IUI. My husband and I are still in shock that it’s worked. I took 5 different tests just to be sure!! 🤣

Been experiencing a little tightness in my stomach, nausea, and also really cold in the evenings like the rest of you. Because we had IUI we will be having an early viability scan at the clinic in around about 3 weeks time.

Look forward to getting to know you all and sharing this crazy time together!

lucya66 · 27/05/2023 18:49

@ItsAJourney congrats they are wonderful tests!

Eirlys1986 · 27/05/2023 19:19

@ItsAJourney amazing tests! Has taken me a couple of weeks to get positives that obvious. Congratulations

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 27/05/2023 19:19

Congratulations and welcome @ItsAJourney those are some brilliant clear positives!!!

Yes @RaspberryTime Palmers cocoa butter is great for the itchy nips, doesn't help with the ache, but definitely gives relief to the itch.

RaspberryTime · 27/05/2023 19:30

Thank you @Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese, placing an order as we speak!

ItsAJourney · 27/05/2023 21:20

@lucya66 @Eirlys1986 @Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese Thanks so much! I’m very surprised that the lines are so strong. I’m not sure if it’s because my DPO is longer (ovulation was triggered on 8th and procedure done on 9th) or whether I should let my mind wonder to possibilities like maybe it’s twins! 🤣

Mummyme87 · 27/05/2023 23:42

Have travelled 4hours in the car this morning, left at 6.30am and had some country lanes to contend with, that wasn’t helpful for my stomach. Had a tuna sandwich at 10.30 which was immense. And then been at a wedding all day. Felt sick most of the day, then bloated and gassy…I think because of food and too much juice. My Aunty clocked the pregnancy, wondered why I was driving and not drinking, think my sister may have twigged but didn’t say anything.
lying in bed now, made OH sleep in the other room as can’t bare the snoring and alcohol smell. No kids for two nights either which will just be dreamy. Fingers crossed for a lie in!!

Eirlys1986 · 28/05/2023 07:55

@ItsAJourney no harm in letting your mind think about twins as a possibility! So long as you won’t be really disappointed if it isn’t! 👍🏻
@Mummyme87 sounds like a looong day, did you confirm the pregnancy to your aunt? Did she actually directly ask if you were pregnant?
DS foot and mouth is continuing to be hell on a plate. I ended up driving him circuits around town at 11pm before OH returned from wembly to just get him to stop crying and sleep. Poor chap still won’t breast feed. Frozen continues to save the day though! Gotta admit yesterday eventually had me in tears in the car though, obviously it was a horrid day but the additional pregnancy hormones made it especially tough I think. Here’s hoping to a better today now OH is home and by some miracle not hungover!

FirstT1meMum · 28/05/2023 08:45

Got my early scan in an hour and the excitement has turned into pure fear! Feeling a bit like before you go the hairdressers and suddenly your head itches and you're convinced you've got nits! 🤣 Hoping and praying everything will be okay 🤞
