Hats off to those having sex. There’s not gonna be much of a risk of post sex bleeding here, let me tell you! 😂 I’m not sure I can even blame the heat, I just don’t want it. Also maybe because we’ve been ttc for two years so we’re both ready for a break from each other 😂❤️

But for those experiencing the bleeding or cramps, hope it’s temporary and nothing serious 🤞

Yolksac · 11/06/2023 21:18

Did u have cramps? It’s been a good few hours now, still bright red bleeding and dull ache 😔

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 11/06/2023 21:37

@Yolksac have you contacted epu yet? Might be worth it of you haven't. Even just to be told "it's nothing to worry about your cervix is a bit sore from sex"

I only didn't with my mine over half term as it was brown and only when I wiped in the evening and then a lesser amount in the morning then the brown went grey by lunch and was like the texture of bogies tmi sorry! I'll be discussing it with my midwife when she books me in next week.

Dh and I have had sex twice this pregnancy, once during the tww and then the day I had the brown spotting, he won't touch again me now because before having ds one of my mc started after sex, so we don't normally have sex at all everytime I am pregnant. Even though he has said logically he knows sex can not cause a mc...

Bims2019 · 11/06/2023 21:42

@RootsHere I know the feeling, just have not felt in the mood at ALL 😂 and the pessaries I'm taking make it pretty unsexy anyway. We've had sex a couple of times in the past two months but most of the time I am just not bothered!

@Yolksac sorry about the bleeding, hopefully everything is ok and I would agree that contacting the epu is the right thing to do for some reassurance.

Ttcdcno1 · 11/06/2023 21:45

@RootsHere same here! DH is a bit like @Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese dh and doesn’t want to risk anything even though he knows logically it’s totally fine, still not up for it but that’s fine because neither am I! 😂My boobs are so sore I think I would instinctively punch him if he touched them 😂

Ttcdcno1 · 11/06/2023 21:47

I’ve told people at work and some friends as we’re going to York for a 40th trip and they were wanting to book and organise stuff so needed to make them aware. Feels weird other people knowing before my mum but she is ALOT 😂Love her to death but not sure I could cope with all the drama just yet 😂🙈

Mummyme87 · 11/06/2023 22:06

We have t had sex since ttc 😬😬 initially I was anxious, now I’m just bloody exhausted and it’s the last thing I want to do. DH definitely wants to I’m just so tired

Matildahoney · 11/06/2023 22:21

Bloody hell, I'm struggling with only having sex once or twice a week! Although this heat is a bit of a killer!

Mushroo · 11/06/2023 22:24

I’m in the no sex club 😂we did it when I was about 5 weeks, then again at 6 and not since! I just haven’t been in the mood and my boobs were killing me.

I feel a lot more normal now but the heat is too much. DH has been very chilled out about it, think he’s a bit worried about causing any issues!

@Matildahoney im impressed at your commitment!

PartRadish · 11/06/2023 22:26

We've done it once right after I tested positive. Then my cervix started being a nob and with the pessaries and the nausea and the insane sense of smell, just no thank you 😂

Matildahoney · 11/06/2023 22:29

@Mushroo 🤣 we have high sex drives and it's more him saying no than me! 😡

Mushroo · 11/06/2023 22:31

@Matildahoney frustrating! Im sure he’ll come around soon, surely he can’t say no for 9 months! 😂

Knov20 · 11/06/2023 23:14

Anyone else massively struggling with constipation? I've been put on anti nausea tablets from docs which make me super drowsy too and tbh I just feel rotten about 80% of the time!!

Kalodin · 12/06/2023 05:50

@Mummyme87 my previous 3 where all born a early due to PPROM, first was born at bang on 37wks (so not too bad), second and third both at 28wks. Consultant believes it to be thrush that causes it, only worked it out after last baby as when he was born the hospital tested my placenta and it was riddled with thrush and DS had fungal sepsis. Consultant believes its why DS2 died, hospital incinerated my placenta rather than sending it off for testing, and DS2 didn't responding to antibiotics (because it was antifungals he needed). In all 3 incidents I had lab results just after my waters broke, that showed I had a thrush infection (crazy as I had no symptoms). But it would also explain the bleeding I had too. So to wrap it up, Consultant believes that thrush caused my bleeding, which in turn irriated my uterus and cervix which caused my waters to go early, which then led the infection of the placenta with thrush leading to fetal distress and so babies were then delivered earlier. Plan of action this time is to keep up the Thrush pesseries and cream.

Good luck with the scan this week @Mummyme87

That's the same time I'm seeing my Consultant face to face @PartRadish . Although until then, I've been having weekly phone calls. I know with the cervical cerclage, my Consultant doesn't like doing it too early, and instead chooses to scan the cervix length weekly instead, she does a cerclage if the cervix length goes below 2.4cm

Mummyme87 · 12/06/2023 06:59

@Kalodin that’s really interesting about the thrush. Not sure I’ve heard of that causing those issues, usually GBS, BV, incompetent cervix etc. fingers crossed you have the answers now and can keep up with the treatment

Kalodin · 12/06/2023 08:02

Yeah it is not that common @Mummyme87 Although my Consultant did point out MWs should be encouraging pregnant women to treat thrush in pregnancy. Was a particular rare type of fungus that caused the thrush too, the hospital where DS3 was born were all super interested in it, had random people come down to talk to me and see DS (and this was during height of covid!). Dr was worried I'd have sepsis from this fungus too but I was fine (oddly I did get sepsis with DS1 & 2 though)

Kalodin · 12/06/2023 08:04

Anyway, yeah super keen to get to that Consultant appointment and have a proper chat about it all!

Mummyme87 · 12/06/2023 08:53

@Kalodin oh yes thrush definitely needs treated, pharmacists are a nightmare though when women try and buy it without prescription. I always advise women to get a friend or partner to buy it as pharmacists usually refuse to give the pessary when pregnant 🫤

TrudyProud · 12/06/2023 08:59

We're having sex 1-2 times a week. Thankfully no spotting after.
With my DD we had sex maybe 2-3 times the entire pregnancy then because I was breastfeeding and we were both exhausted maybe 3 times the first 7 months PP.
this time around I realise pregnancy sex is far less tiresome than PP sex especially as we'll have 2 under 2 so we are having all the sex possible 🤣

Mushroo · 12/06/2023 09:07

@Knov20 i was about a week ago - to the point I woke up with cramps in the night and basically had to give birth to a weeks worth of back up (tmi, sorry!).

But what’s worked for me:
Drinking 2.5l of water a day, without fail
fruit juice / smoothies
beans, vegetables
A ‘proper’ coffee every few days if I need to move stuff along…

its the least glamorous problem ever!

suz2285 · 12/06/2023 09:11

It's funny how different we all are, laughing at the sex chats; We're usually every 2-3 days but we're now at about every 4 days during this pregnancy, it feels different for me and I'm worried about bleeding, and then shouting every 2 mins DONT TOUCH THE NIPPLES! Is likely not that sexy 😂😂

The constipation thing as well, I've got ibs and so I appear to have the opposite issue so far, wake up every morning and it's a good clear out 🙈 and then nothing until the next morning... least it seems regular!

Bims2019 · 12/06/2023 09:58

@Knov20 yeah I've had some constipation too, it's been delightful 🙄 I second drinking lots of water and juice, and walking has helped me loosen things up a bit as well 😂

Ttcdcno1 · 10/06/2023 09:12

This weekend has been manic 😫Just joined the FB group though!

Kalodin · 12/06/2023 10:48

Or just buy it with the weekly shop or on Amazon @Mummyme87 , that's what I've been advised by Consultant as in our area they won't prescribe for thrush treatment.

The sex chat starting on here already 😂 We are probably doing it a bit more actually, I'm weirdly horny this time round

Gremlin84 · 12/06/2023 12:52

Booking appointment end of last week, got told off for being dehydrated (appointment was 8am! basically first wee of the day as I wasn't getting up early to down loads of water...) and had 3 appointment letters all over the weekend for various things. First scan end of this month, various doctors appointments as I have a history of transient increases in TSH - all seems very real now! Also asymptomatic UTI. Didn't even know that was a thing, but need to go in and pick up prescription this afternoon.
