@suz2285 I think we should likely feel lucky for the time being as it’s nice to be pregnant and not feeling like crap. I will really appreciate feeling good if all well at my 8 week scan Tuesday but then I imagine it won’t take me long to start feeling anxious again! Thankfully I have to have another automatic 10 week scan the day of the harmony test too so that’s good 👍🏻

sashastuck · 11/06/2023 14:48

@Mummyme87 you are having a tough ride! Really hope you feel better later on. Definitely agree that time is speeding up.

After worrying about lack of symptoms yesterday I burst into tears today after a morning of feeling sick, tired and dizzy 😂 you can’t win!

suz2285 · 11/06/2023 14:58

@Eirlys1986 my next scan is in a couple of weeks and it feels like ages away, also at 10 weeks though we're not doing the harmony or anything, will wait and see what the 12 weeks bloods etc say - god I hope all ok 🤞 being old sucks!

@sashastuck sounds about right it's literally one thing after another, i don't feel the best now, don't think I've drank enough water today tbh! I need to find some motivation this week to do some decent work, just coming to the end of a really busy period at work and now I can see the end of it and I'm exhausted I can't find any motivation to do the final push 😂

lucya66 · 11/06/2023 15:00

Can’t wait for the nausea to end here. And I was sick again this morning for The 5th day. I get the burps, my head starts to pound and have to run to the loo. The first time I didn’t make it and had a mess to clean up after 😣 strange thing is the nausea subsides a bit after vomiting so I generally feel ok for an hour or so after.

I also was almost sick near a bin outside Tesco the other day but I did everything I could to keep it down as I was too embarrassed to be being sick in the street.

i can’t wait for the bump to show more and the sickness to end. Praying it’s soon. 11w1d here.

lucya66 · 11/06/2023 15:03

Is anyone else suffering with spots? I have the most spots I’ve ever had in my life. Every day huge new spots all over my chin (read this is hormonal). There’s loads of skincare you can’t use pregnant so not sure how to treat them other than keeping them clean?

Kalodin · 11/06/2023 15:17

Yes @lucya66 ! BUT I know they'll let up soon, with my previous pregnancies, the spots cleared up before 2nd trimester then I had the most perfect skin for rest of pregnancy. Hopefully be same again, for us both

sashastuck · 11/06/2023 15:21

@lucya66 yep! On my jawline and even on my neck!

My sickness subsided last week and accompanied with brown spotting I panicked and have another scan this Wednesday. My symptoms came back with a vengeance on Friday and I vomited 3 times! Been feeling rough since but not as bad and was only sick once yesterday and nothing yet today. Definitely noticing it comes and goes a lot and trying not to worry anymore.

@lucya66 i get the burps too which turn into sick 🤢

So hard to compare with my first pregnancy where I just had mild nausea until 9 weeks! Goes to show how every pregnancy is so different.

Dannic2018 · 11/06/2023 16:21

Bless you all being sick, it has to be the worst thing ever!
I think if I was sick in my first pregnancy my daughter would of been a only child 🤣
i am less nauseous in this pregnancy and hungry more and moody and obviously tired so I’m thinking it could be a girl as I remember feeling like this with her but who knows

RaspberryTime · 11/06/2023 17:08

@lucya66 I have developed HORRENDOUS spots all over my back and shoulders. They’re really painful and it’s super awkward now the weather is warmer as I don’t feel I can wear vest tops even. Really hoping they go soon.

Kalodin · 11/06/2023 17:34

When's everyone planning on sharing their news?

I'm so nervous to share ours! Last 3 pregnancies and newborns have been really draining on wider family, very emotional for everyone. So I'm worried how everyone's going to react to a 4th!

Yolksac · 11/06/2023 17:39

uhhh I’m 7+2 today and just had lower abdomen cramps and bright red bleeding… not a lot of blood but bright red 😩 all this was after sex and now I’m so worried 😦

Yolksac · 11/06/2023 17:41

@Kalodin i am planning on telling our immediate families by the end of first trimester… just coincides with another celebration so everyone would be there…!

yhough just now had some bright red blood and cramps after sex so bit worried now 😔

Kalodin · 11/06/2023 17:50

@Yolksac Bright red after sex can be pretty common in pregnancy, often had it with mine, MWs told me it's because the cervix is more prone to bleeding. Is it much? Really hope its all okay, is a worry.

PartRadish · 11/06/2023 17:57

@yolksac I had bright red bleeding 2 weeks ago, lots of it too! Two scans later all looks okay and it seems fairly certain the bleeding came from my cervix. It's quite common apparently, particularly after sex.

Kalodin · 11/06/2023 18:04

This is only my second pregnancy where I haven't bled, last time I ended up having a MMC when I went for my dating scan. So I'm nervous that I'm not bleeding tbh, although my symptoms of nausea and sore boobs are somewhat comforting (and I try to remind myself that the other pregnancies that I did bleed in, half of them ended in MC anyway)

PartRadish · 11/06/2023 18:05

Same here. Our families/friends will be really shocked I think and have very understandable reservations.

My plan so far is to not tell them. Or at least not tell them for as long as I can possibly get away with, birth if I could get away with it, kids might notice before then though 😆

PartRadish · 11/06/2023 18:22

Just read that back and realised I've made it sound like our families will be horrified 😅 They won't be, I just had very difficult pregnancies/neonatal periods so they'll worry, but the actual baby will be very happy news I'm sure.

Kalodin · 11/06/2023 18:46

That's what I'm hoping to do too @PartRadish ! I want to wait until the 20 week scan at least and hoping the Consultant will have a great plan of action already implemented etc for me and baby so no pre term babies this time

Dancingqueen91 · 11/06/2023 19:20

I’m 11 weeks today and have noticed a massive drop in nausea over the last week! Also my exhaustion seems to start at around 2pm rather than all day long so it seems to be a bit of a running theme by the looks of those at 9/10 weeks so hopefully nothing t worry about … just the placenta taking over 🤞🏼

You're giving me some hope @Dancingqueen91 I'm 8 weeks and feel like my exhaustion and sickness has peaked. Not helped by DD 2.5 having a sickness bug herself. Feel like it's been a crap weekend tbh and feels me with dread to think there's potentially another 32 weeks of it 🙈

Eirlys1986 · 11/06/2023 19:53

@suz2285 being old is indeed a bit crappy, but we also have lots of lovely life experience so that should also potentially stand us in good stead 👍🏻 good luck for the 10 week scan xx

Dancingqueen91 · 11/06/2023 20:18

@Luhou i really do hope it eases up for you week 8 was my work 6-8 were so bad! I’m still not completely feeling normal I’m absolutely shattered but definitely doing a bit better and can cope with more day to day :)

Mummyme87 · 11/06/2023 20:32

@Kalodin how preterm have your babies been? Did they find a reason for being premature?

I’ve told a few people, my mam, in laws, best friends, a few friends at work, my sister and my eldest. Think I may put a scan photo on my dads Father’s Day card. Then will go public after nuchal scan which is 6th July.

have 9week scan on Wednesday with EPU and booking on Friday 🥰

Exactly that here too! Feels very, very odd to have not told my Mum but I need to be able to give her a solid plan of action when I do or she will worry herself silly.

Do you have an appointment for the preterm clinic yet? Midwife said I'll have a phone appointment between 12-14 weeks which feels a bit late really because I was hoping to discuss the pros/cons of preventative cervical cerclage (they left it too late last time) but sounds like its is another one of those thing that varies from area to area.
