Hi everyone! I think mumsnet cuts threads off at around 40 pages… here’s part 2 for when it does.

@suz2285 hopefully it’s peaked for you. I’m 8+4 feeling quite rubbish today but more nausea in relation to dizziness I keep feeling like a I need to sit down. I’m due to go on holidays tomorrow to Spain Iv never been less excited 😅

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 17:55

@Niam4 I don't blame you, I'm using all my energy just for normal day to day tasks! I'm sure once you're there you'll enjoy it 🥳

RaspberryTime · 08/06/2023 18:22

@Mushroo Thanks, it REALLY is!

@Mummyme87 How did you find out what further test your trust offers for high risk results? I’d like to know what mine offer but can’t see anything obvious on their website.

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2023 18:35

@RaspberryTime I work there as a midwife so have the inside intel. You could call the fetal medicine department and find out

RaspberryTime · 08/06/2023 19:04

@Mummyme87 Ah, that’s a good inside track to have!! Thank you, good shout.

Firsttimerugbymum · 08/06/2023 19:47

Ended up telling my manager today I'm pregnant - really not coping with the extreme fatigue and I work in a stressful and long hour environment.

Thankfully he was super happy and happy to do any adjustments I need.

On the other hand, also had to tell one person in HR for a separate reason. I did tell both my manager and HR that I'm not ready for others to know yet and to keep it confidential, but an off hand comment from my parent with are you sure they won't tell anyone has thrown me into a spin!

Surely both have a duty to keep it confidential, but our workplace is one of the most gossipy workplaces ever so now I'm in tears 😭

Damn hormones

Misspotterscat · 08/06/2023 20:00

Has anyone noticed their boobs hurting significantly more first thing in the morning? They’re so painful first thing, then it eases off.

Cc33 · 08/06/2023 20:12

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm 6+2 today with my second, early days but trying to keep my nerves at bay! I think I'm due 30 January, no scans or anything yet, going to try and hold out until the dating scan
I've been having nausea on and off and the tiredness is unreal, also eating carbs on carbs for most meals so definitely already look 7 months pregnant haha.
@drjodiyogi and I met on a Mumsnet group for our first babies, now 2 and a half! Thanks for sending me the link Jodi :)

Firsttimerugbymum · 08/06/2023 20:14

Welcome @Cc33 !

Bims2019 · 08/06/2023 20:17

@Firsttimerugbymum it's so difficult knowing who to tell at work and when, but it sounds like you've absolutely done the right thing. Please don't worry, they shouldn't tell anyone else unless they really need to, for example someone in health and safety if you need a specific adjustment, but even then they should discuss this with you first.

Is anyone else feeling more emotional than usual? I don't usually cry at films etc but have found myself getting teary over the smallest things recently. Got to love the hormones!

Also started waking up at 5am every morning and struggling to get back to sleep, but not sure if that's a pregnancy thing or just because it's really light 😂

sashastuck · 08/06/2023 20:31

@Misspotterscat absolutely. When I wake up the ache is crazy, throughout the day I poke them and they’re tender at best.

Welcome @Cc33 ! So lovely to see that Mumsnet mums keep in touch as well!

@Bims2019 I cannot have a lie in to save my life since finding out back in April. I wake up at 5 for work anyway but I cannot sleep past 7 on a weekend/half term! Normally I’d sleep in until 9

@Firsttimerugbymum I second others, you did the right thing by telling them and it’d be a big breach surely for HR to tell others? That doesn’t seem right. Hope it’s all okay for you x

Firsttimerugbymum · 08/06/2023 20:48

@Bims2019 - yes agreed. Think it's just the realization it's a bit out of my control now. What will be will be.

Absolutely on the crying - I cry at the smallest thing now and for some reason regularly have crying fits when I am driving somewhere for no reason...

Firsttimerugbymum · 08/06/2023 20:50

@sashastuck - yes agreed it would be. I think all logic has gone out of the window but small things really spook me and make me emotional

Bims2019 · 08/06/2023 21:34

@sashastuck that's so annoying about the lie ins! Do you manage to nap at all? I've never been a morning person so hoping the super early wake ups are just a temporary thing. I'm pooped now so should probably try and go to bed!

@Firsttimerugbymum I know what you mean, and there's not much we do have control over now body-wise so it's hard to give up a bit more. But I really hope your work are supportive, your manager's reaction sounds really positive 😊 Glad it's not just me with the crying!

stressshead · 09/06/2023 09:23

Morning ladies

Those of you that had bleeding what was it like and how long did it last?
Had some bleeding with morning x

Lilothblos · 09/06/2023 12:21

@stressshead hopefully someone with experience will respond soon but didn’t want to leave you unanswered. Have you given the EPU or your midwife a call? Hopefully they will be able to offer some advice. Really hope it works out ok

Flossiepot · 09/06/2023 12:24

@stressshead mine was brown mixed in with discharge, was only one morning when I wiped and I haven't had it since so not too helpful. You can bleed for all sorts of reasons in early pregnancy though and most times it's nothing to worry about. Might be worth just giving them a call and mentioning it.

youaremysunshine03 · 09/06/2023 12:34

@stressshead mine was two weeks ago (at 6 weeks), first pink discharge once when wiping then a small amount of bright red once when wiping two days later which panicked me. No reason was found for it on the scan, likely just baby burrowing in. I also had a tiny bit of brown discharge yesterday. Definitely call your EPU for a scan or your GP as you may need a referral, there’s no harm in getting checked. Hope you’re ok x

Redpanda21 · 09/06/2023 12:34

@stressshead give EPU a call and get checked out xx

Mummyme87 · 09/06/2023 12:35

@stressshead I’ve not had any bleeding, but it can be brown/pink/bright read, spotting, clots, heavy period… it’s different for everyone and each individual type doesn’t mean anything specific. If you’re worried I would contact your maternity unit and see if they have an EPU. Mine has a walk in 6 days a week in the morning but most are referrals or appts

Canyougivemedirections · 09/06/2023 12:38

Hiya 😊 Congratulations to all of you.
Could I join? I’m 9 weeks today with my second. Due date currently is 12th Jan but had no scans yet to confirm. I was part of a mumsnet group with my first baby that became a Facebook group and the support was invaluable.
Nausea has well and truely kicked in now and the tiredness is another level completely! Hope you’re all doing ok 😊

buckingmad · 09/06/2023 12:46

Had my booking appointment today. Feels a bit more real now. Where I had my daughter they did a blood test to check what rhesus baby was (I’m negative and luckily so was she!) but they don’t do it here which is annoying but oh well.

im going to be under consultant care cause of my previous birth but she was happy with my hopeful plan of a VBAC.

Hiya @Canyougivemedirections - I'm 9 weeks today too and due 12th Jan! How exciting for us xxx although it's the day after my own birthday and I have spent my life complaining about how crap it is to be born in January hehehe

suz2285 · 09/06/2023 12:49

@stressshead had a bit of brown spotting around 6.5 weeks, for a few days, I called EPU and had a scan, it's always worth calling if you're at all worried

@Canyougivemedirections welcome, we've been discussing a fb group too so likely will be one set up soon... I'm exhausted too! I didn't expect to be so physically and mentally tired so quickly!!

@buckingmad I've got mine next week, I think here they just test the mum and if -ve they give the injection as a precaution, which is what I'm expecting as I know I'm -ve... and my husband is +ve ... my friend at work just had her injection a few weeks back and she said it was so sore and she cried 😂🙈

Mummyme87 · 09/06/2023 13:00

Less nausea the last two days. Still vommed and felt sick yesterday morning, less again today. Why does our body do irritating things like this… I complain I feel so ill and sick, then when it reduces I’m worrying somethings wrong

currently poolside at my gym enjoying the sun
