@RaspberryTime sorry to hear about DH, that’s not great timing, hopefully he finds something new soon xx
@ThomasinaLivesHere I think the accuracy of the sex with NIPT testing is as close to 100% as it can be. In the clinic where we got it done they basically rang you to let you know the genetics part of the results- admin rang if all ok as a courtesy call and consultant would obviously ring if not ok. They then had a system where they sent you the results including the sex in a separate email. I must admit myself and partner had to sit and scan the results to see the sex for a min or two as there is lots of other data on the sheet so not the most life changing way to find out! We aren’t particularly emotional people though tbh, we always joke that we must be dead inside when we see everyone crying at various shows on goggle box 😂

RaspberryTime · 08/06/2023 12:05

@ThomasinaLivesHere @Eirlys1986 Thanks both…couldn’t have been worse timing 🤦‍♀️

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 13:09

@RaspberryTime sorry about DH! Hopefully he'll find something quickly, when I was made redundant last year I found the job market very busy compared to the last time I looked and I got a new job before I'd stopped being paid by the current job so fingers crossed!

@Misspotterscat great news 🥳

@Eirlys1986 you and your DH sound like us, we're not emotional either 😂 he's way less emotional than me but yeah people getting upset about tv and sports and all sorts I can't understand it!

RaspberryTime · 08/06/2023 13:19

Thanks @suz2285 we are definitely keeping everything crossed 🤞

Mushroo · 08/06/2023 13:24

@RaspberryTime sorry to hear about your DH, rubbish timing!

Hopefully everything happens for a reason and he might find something even better :)

youaremysunshine03 · 08/06/2023 13:28

Has anyone else had some very small amounts of brown discharge? I’m just over 8 weeks and have had it a couple of times this week, only once each time and only on wiping. Just worried as my symptoms were really strong and have pretty much vanished 😔

Trying to remain positive as we saw the heartbeat last week which I know should be reassuring. Might have to call and request another scan to put my mind at ease or go for a private one.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 08/06/2023 13:40

@Eirlys1986 thanks for describing your experience. That’s really useful to know. Which company was it with? It would work out well the way you described as I could have the phone call and then hopefully if everything is fine then only go to the email later to confirm scan got sex right.
I’m not an emotional person either. I just like the idea of doing something fun to find out the sex. I know some of the gender reveal stuff can be a bit naff to some but I’m not planning on filming and uploading to social media or anything like that 😂

Also on not being emotional, has anyone come across any yoga videos for pregnancy that are basically just like standard yoga sessions but just approved poses for pregnancy? All the ones I come across on YouTube are all about bonding with baby, sending out love, positive birth affirmation etc which is fine if you want that but I just like yoga for me time and relaxing and don’t find thoughts of babies or birth that relaxing 😂

Mushroo · 08/06/2023 13:42

@ThomasinaLivesHere maybe try searching ‘beginner yoga’ or ‘yoga for relaxation’

Anything is fine I think just avoid some twists and back bends. Anything at the easy level should be fine.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 08/06/2023 13:43

@youaremysunshine03 I had what you described when I was around 8 weeks. It was on off for about over a week at most I think I had 4 days in a row of it. It went away and haven’t had it since. I had a scan once it’d gone and baby was fine so hopefully you’ll have similar experience.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 08/06/2023 13:44

@Mushroo thanks, yes I should try that and look up what poses to avoid.

Eirlys1986 · 08/06/2023 13:59

@ThomasinaLivesHere I did “Lucy flow yoga” in first pregnancy, it was good I found and could pick and choose which videos to do from course. Bet she has videos on YouTube too, she’s also on Instagram

Much as I say I am not emotional, I happily did a hypnobirthing course with the positive birthing company and yes some of it is a bit cringe but it was also really informative and made my eventual emergency c section an actually overall positive experience amazingly

Lucy Flow Online Pregnancy Yoga & Birth Preparation

Eirlys1986 · 08/06/2023 14:00

Ps @ThomasinaLivesHere I went to a clinic called MUMS in Solihull for the harmony testing as it’s local to us 👍🏻

Eirlys1986 · 08/06/2023 14:02

@youaremysunshine03 my symptoms keep switching on and off for days at a time too and definitely no nausea. I think a lot of the time brown discharge can be old blood coming down from placental development and bruising associated with that. The MC rate after a heartbeat seen at 7-8 weeks is very low but perhaps getting a further reassurance scan is going to be what’s best for you x

Eirlys1986 · 08/06/2023 14:05

@suz2285 maybe we should be known as the dead inside club😐 😂

Mushroo · 08/06/2023 14:09

@Eirlys1986 @suz2285 ill join the dead inside club 😂

No emotions whatsoever and more than happy to just read the sex off a sheet of paper!

Also find the idea of ‘talking to bump’ at this stage super cringey.

No judgement on those who like those things at all, I think it’s normal and nice! I just seem to be missing that emotion gene.

Luhou · 08/06/2023 14:11

Hi ladies,

Just checking in, feeling shit here today. DD has sickness and diahrea bug. So lack of sleep, endless washing and naseua for me!

What week have people had there booking appointment. Just got mine for 10.5 weeks

Luhou · 08/06/2023 14:12

My only friend today is caramel snack-a-jacks which I cannot get enough off 🙃

youaremysunshine03 · 08/06/2023 14:17

@ThomasinaLivesHere @Eirlys1986 thank you both! That’s really reassuring. Normally I’d be telling myself it’s all fine but after my MC last year I think I’m overthinking everything this time.

I called the EPU and they said they’ll do another scan which I am so grateful for. Not until next Wednesday but I’m glad I’ve got something.

Eirlys1986 · 08/06/2023 14:20

@youaremysunshine03 totally understandable you would find it hard to reassure yourself given your past MC. I am glad you’ve got the scan upcoming and hope the discharge stops before then and the symptoms return to give you a bit of reassurance before hand x
@Mushroo of course you can join! Perhaps actually more of us are dead inside than we give ourselves credit for 😆
@Luhou sounds like hell on a stick, I’m sorry 😢, just hang onto those caramel snack a jacks and the thought of bedtime for dear life!

buckingmad · 08/06/2023 14:24

@ThomasinaLivesHere you'll be ok for now doing most things, but later on you want to avoid anything too abdominal heavy because of ab separation and also anything lying on your back.

Pretty sure last time I just searched pregnancy yoga or pregnancy pilates and found a few.

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2023 14:32

I’m a bit more anxious this time about the risks that come from nuchal scan/combined screening, being 6 years older. My trust do the SAFE test if high risk so will just wait for that.

I’m dreading needing to stand on the scales. I’ve put on 6lb since becoming pregnant, just carbs!!!

nausea much more manageable today. Hoping that’s just me being better as opposed to it being an issue. Can’t wait for scan on Wednesday

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2023 14:34

My gym does a pregnancy exercise group so will do that, and try to keep doing weights at the gym. Going to up my swimming game, especially now weather’s improving as my gym has an outdoor pool. I would like to do pregnancy yoga but haven’t found anywhere yet

buckingmad · 08/06/2023 14:52

@Mummyme87 how far along are you? My sickness has definitely improved the last couple of days, I'm 9 weeks. I'm having short intense bursts of it now rather than all day.

I'm dreading the scales but opposite reason. My BMI sits around the lower end of normal anyway and I know I've lost a fair weight with the sickness, a few people that don't know I am pregnant have commented. I don't really know what happens if you're underweight when pregnant?

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2023 15:17

@buckingmad I’m 8+1. Still got sore boobs/itchy nips, and very tired. Nothing really happens if underweight it’s just noted

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 16:06

@Mummyme87 what age are you? I'm 38 so I'm scared of the risks too! Esp after a MC last time... just fingers crossed for a healthy egg and sperm combo! 🤞

@ThomasinaLivesHere I do RWL which is an app, you have to pay for it but they have a pregnancy section with info and trimester 1-3 workouts but you can try the app for £1 for the first 7 days I think! I mean they have a TON of workout and recipe content on there and a really great Instagram bunch of ambassadors and folk in the community which is quite supportive. So it's yoga and Pilates and strength/cardio stuff for all stages

I say I do it, I've done nothing the last 8 weeks except work, sleep and try to eat 😂

I also wild swim so I'll be doing that too, though again haven't been for a few weeks but hoping to get back out this weekend, and I also walk most days though again it's kinda tiring already now! 🙈 I hope the exhaustion goes a bit in tri 2 🤷‍♀️

My nausea has def been slightly better this week, hoping that's me on the end of it and it's not away to start getting worse, keep reading the peak is 9-10 weeks but I felt worse 5-7 weeks and I feel like it's a little better this week (almost 8) or is it about to come back with a vengeance??
