Hey everyone 👋, hope everyone well. In Corfu now and enjoying a “relaxing” time chasing a toddler with a death wish around the pool 😂. I’m 7+1 today by my calculations, feeling a little bit worried that mild nausea present last week or so seems to have abated. I know I shouldn’t complain but it has made me more nervous for scan in a weeks time.

Niam4 · 06/06/2023 14:09

Hi everyone I told my parents and brothers yesterday they are all happy for me and it wasn’t too difficult. I was in two minds whether to tell them but we have a lot of events coming up (weddings, a holiday) and I knew I would find it difficult to lie. We had a chemical pregnancy in December and I never told my family I think that was another reason for the anxiety related to it. I do find it hard to accept any sort of support in these times I feel I’m better at supporting myself. A little strange I know, praying all goes well now. 8 + 2 today. @suz2285 totally agree with the disappointment element that’s my only fear that I wouldn’t like to upset others. Hopefully it will be happiness for us all ❤️

buckingmad · 06/06/2023 14:13

Finally found something I can stomach…jacket potato with a tiny bit of tuna. I know you’re not supposed to eat too much tuna cause of the mercury but I’m literally having a spoonful per meal so think I’m probably ok. I normally love my food and am a constant grazer to go from that to half a jacket potato twice a day is horrid! Feel weak and dizzy all the time from having no reserves!

Niam4 · 06/06/2023 14:17

also Just wondering is it normal to have nausea without vomiting? Iv only vommited twice but tend to have nausea for big portions of the day, eating seems to ease it but as soon as I get hungry again generally reappears

lackingpatience · 06/06/2023 14:21

@Eirlys1986 me too! I’m 7w 2 and the nausea whilst still present definitely feels milder and my boobs are less ARGHHH don’t touch me. If I poke them they’re still tender (I hope im not the only one that does this) but again, the edge seems to have gone off. It’s more nipple than entire boob atm.

I’m aware that symptoms can come and go, and it’s nothing to worry about, but well, you do! It’s my first pregnancy so all just very novel and very hope filled / anxiety ridden! That being said the fatigue is still quite prevalent, I went to bed at 8:30 last night and woke up at 8 this morning😶

suz2285 · 06/06/2023 14:28

@Niam4 i've only got nausea so far no vomiting, but I have emetophobia (fear of vomiting) so It takes a lot for me to actually be ill! the nausea has been bad and i'm taking tablets for it...

@Eirlys1986 i'm feeling anxious this week too as this is when i had a MC last time. I'm poking the boobs also haha! Mine are still sore and so heavy, nausea still bad though its not as constant as weeks 5-6 but i'm not sure if it's just because i'm taking tablets now and they're maybe helping, but i still feel ill and exhausted! I've been going to bed at 8.30 too but keep waking up at 4am!

@buckingmad NHS guidelines says you can have 4 tins of tuna a week, so i reckon you're fine! I think with these things it's always way more than you think and they always err on the side of caution which makes it sound like you can't have anything! I had a baked potato phase a few weeks ago 😂I'm also eating half portions, just finished last nights dinner for lunch today, I feel better in the mornings so i'm eating 2 small breakfasts, and lunch before i start to feel worse!

Mummyme87 · 06/06/2023 14:39

I’m loving a tuna sandwich, hits the spot. Feeling very savoury cravings, and can’t really think about sweet stuff too much. Work is really tough. Struggling feeling so awful.

Onedayatatime24 · 06/06/2023 14:53

Finding work incredibly tough! Tiredness is really taking it out of me at the moment, complete brain fuzz come 2.30pm, I'm useless!

Can't believe I'm growing an actual human and still have to do spreadsheets??? 😂

Anyone found anything to combat the afternoon slump?

This is me to a tee. My work output is shocking atm, I just can’t get going and I’m so tired!

I did ‘yoga for energy’ at lunchtime. It did not work 😂

Lilothblos · 06/06/2023 15:55

@Onedayatatime24 @Mushroo I feel the same! It’s outrageous that we’re expected to be productive whilst growing a whole new organ plus human 😂feel like I really need a nap! I’m finding regular snacks is the only thing keeping me awake!

sashastuck · 06/06/2023 16:20

@buckingmad @Mummyme87 tuna sandwich/jacket potato are my favourite meals of the week at the moment! Can’t get enough (I’d been sticking to 1 can a week but now I know you can have more…. 😍)

@Mummyme87 so sorry that work has been so hard. I really hope that the suffering subsides sooner than you think. Were you the same with your other children?

Is anyone else spotty along their jawline? Dry skin that no cream will help, spots, I feel like an ugly lump today.

@sashastuck I remember having sickness in the mornings but don’t recall the constant feeling unwell. I’m 6yrs older however than I was in last pregnancy so probs that

suz2285 · 06/06/2023 17:07

@Onedayatatime24 nope I'm falling asleep around 2.30 every day too and effectively useless! Big day at work tomorrow then wfh for a few days which is way better for sleepiness! Thank goodness

@Mushroo pmsl that's what I do, try and find yoga for everything! Tho I've even been too exhausted to bother with that so far! But my normal google is 'yoga for headache, yoga for sciatica' etc etc 😂

@Lilothblos omg I was trying to explain to DH last night that I'm growing a baby and a whole other organ to nourish said baby and I'm wiped out, he could literally not care less, until I have a bump this baby does not exist! Though I did suggest maybe he's just not getting too excited cos he's waiting for it to go wrong again, which could well be a factor, he's terrible at expressing any sort of emotion or feeling so goodness only knows!

buckingmad · 06/06/2023 17:20

A question for those that have had multiple pregnancies…did you notice a difference with your symptoms for boys and girls? My mum said she was definitely more sick with girls than boys. My friend had a boy and had no symptoms.

i have a girl and was pretty sick exactly as I am now. Be interesting to see!

PartRadish · 06/06/2023 18:58

All of my pregnancies have been different really.

Number one horrendous sickness, just constant all day vomiting, I lived off Frubes because they were easy to vomit back up. Number two nausea and everything just smelled way too strong but I could keep food down so felt like a vast improvement. Number 3 was an awful combination of both, horrific nausea and all day vomiting AND everything stank 😭

All boys 😆

I could have written that last paragraph myself.

symptoms seem to have gone today which I’m completely stressing about even though I keep hearing on here that it’s normal. There’s no rationalising it though.

suz2285 · 06/06/2023 19:14

@Misspotterscat they're really a different species the males 😂

Ah I know what you mean it's like you know things can be totally normal but doesn't stop overthinking every little thing!

Eirlys1986 · 06/06/2023 19:47

@Misspotterscat solidarity on the stress related to symptoms going! I have never wished to feel sick in my life 😂. I know I’ll be major league peed off if I do start to feel really sick though, so you can basically never please me

CaptainMuddle · 06/06/2023 20:17

Hi everyone, lovely as always to read your updates and hear how you’re getting on!

I’m now 6w+2 - the fatigue is real, I’m grumpy and tired at work, and I’m struggling to make myself drink regularly. Other than that, no symptoms! Appetite normal, boobs not tender, but I have a scan next week so hopefully that’ll provide some reassurance all is going swimmingly.

Ttcdcno1 · 06/06/2023 20:18

Why was my tuna melt for my tea like the best thing I’ve ever tasted ? 🥰🤤
haven’t known what I fancied for ages and then read everyone talking about tuna and I was like yes! That’s it. 😂

youaremysunshine03 · 06/06/2023 20:24

@Misspotterscat @Eirlys1986 i’m glad you both said that because I’m in the same boat! I lost all symptoms a couple of weeks ago, panicked, they came back and I felt horrendous until yesterday and today nothing, just a bit of heartburn this evening which is new.
I just want to go back to feeling sick and moaning 😂

suz2285 · 06/06/2023 20:26

@Ttcdcno1 omg I made tuna pasta tonight after everyone talking about tuna as well and it's the first dinner I've enjoyed in blooming weeks 😂😂

Olive0il · 06/06/2023 20:27

Hey everyone !
Hoping I can jump in this thread .
I am 5 weeks 6 days . I had a scan yesterday and there was a flicker of a heartbeat yay ..I had been so nervous as I had a recent miscarriage
It will be nice to follow along on everyone's journey 😊

lucya66 · 06/06/2023 20:35

Another tuna lover here! Tuna pasta, tuna sandwiches have been great. Obviously sparingly due to the mercury but the baba wants what the baba wants.

ive been so poorly with nausea and got sick 3 times so far. Also, my belly has popped now, especially in the evenings. I look pregnant ish. It’s a small bump but I love cradling it.

10w3d today! :) :)

sashastuck · 06/06/2023 20:40

I’m laughing at all the tuna 😂😂 I made tuna wraps for my next two lunches at work hahaha!

Welcome @Olive0il congratulations! X
