@Vikki7 dont worry. I had zero symptoms at nine weeks, they all disappeared and I felt great!

Week 10 and I’m back to being shattered and my boobs hurt again. My nipples are also so itchy 🙄

It’s normal to fluctuate and the placenta will be taking over as well.

Bims2019 · 04/06/2023 22:14

@Vikki7 I'm 9+5 and have had pretty much no symptoms over the last couple of days so it's not just you! I barely feel pregnant, the slight nausea I've had for the past few weeks has gone and the tiredness hasn't been so bad, it's only sore boobs now really and even they aren't that bad.

It's really difficult I know, just trying to remind myself that the chances of anything going wrong are really small. Completely understand why you're anxious though. It's not easy with all the uncertainty, but symptoms coming and going seems to be very normal!

EL27 · 04/06/2023 23:06

@Mummyme87 thanks! I was just wondering as I haven't heard many others have appointments at home but I do live in a quiet area in Wales. Good to be prepared for what can happen so thanks for letting me know😊

@Vikki7 I'm 9+2 too! I've been feeling the same way today! My symptoms in week 6-8 felt a lot more intense than right now. I'm not sure if it's because I'm better at controlling nausea as I understand what triggers it. But I have been able to get housework done today whereas a week ago I felt I couldnt get out of bed.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much (easier said than done I know) I've heard that pregnancy symptoms fluctuate so much from person to person. Sending you good vibes and baby dust 🥰

lucya66 · 05/06/2023 07:10

My nausea seemed to lessen a lot, one morning when I was 9w5d but then by the evening has had taken over in its place. By 10w1 day I was back to vomiting. It fluctuates a lot.

I have my twelve week scan in two weeks tomorrow. It’s all starting to feel very real now

ThomasinaLivesHere · 05/06/2023 07:56

@Vikki7 I know they say that’s the worst week but in both my pregnancies week 6 was the worst for me by week 9 I’m generally fine and most of the time don’t have any symptoms.

Does anyone else take pregnacare max tablets and find the omega 3 tablet so difficult to swallow? I’m not even suffering nausea so it’s not that and I normally find tablets ok to swallow. It often gets stuck in my throat for a moment.

suz2285 · 05/06/2023 08:41

@ThomasinaLivesHere that's interesting, I felt horrific from weeks 5-6 and I'm not sure if it cos I got on some tablets early enough that it's balancing out a bit now, I tried another one yesterday and I felt so much better in the evening... but I was hoping it would get better rather than worse the next few weeks tbh!

I don't take pregnacare but the ones I take you have to take 3 a day and it's a lot of swallowing when you don't feel right! I stopped taking additional iron/omega and stuff too as I was taking 7-8 tablets a day!

I'm definitely more nervous now after having an early scan and seeing the HB now I'm imagining all the things that can be going wrong between now and the next scan! Such a pain...

cossie13 · 05/06/2023 10:17

Morning all, hope you're doing ok and had good weekends?

@suz2285 I'm panicking as well now! I promised OH that after the early scan I'd be reassured and fine until 12 weeks but nope, if anything I'm now worse!

suz2285 · 05/06/2023 10:29

@cossie13 same, I was like yeah I'll be fine now all is good 😂 nope! I'm wondering about another scan before the 12 weeks.. I wish they were cheaper! Also now worrying something will be up at the 12 week scan with the hormones or measurements, think it's normal but yeah, not fun 🙈

Everyone keeps asking me if I've had a good weekend but literally I feel like all I'm doing is eating and sleeping and relaxing right now! 😂

Niam4 · 05/06/2023 11:01

Just wondering when people told there families ? I’m 8+1 and was considering telling them today, my OH family know already as he really couldn’t hold it in. I don’t know why but I feel nervous announcing it more so the attention of it I think. Hope everyone is doing ok, I was sick this morning only second time Iv actually been sick but that constant wave of nausea is present 75% of the time

cossie13 · 05/06/2023 11:04

@suz2285 There's always something to worry about isn't there? 😅 The thought had crossed my mind too but I'd happily pay for another if they were a bit cheaper! 10th July feels a million miles away now

I know I should be sleeping a bit more but I feel like I'm nesting already. And to make it worse my OH won't let me do anything! We got out in the garden to do some weeding etc this weekend and he literally made me sit down while he did everything. I know that's the dream but I'll be honest, I felt so lazy and useless!

Our families already know, tell your family whenever you're ready and whenever it feels right to!

Oh bless you, I feel your pain. Although I've not been sick (except once week before last) the nausea is constant across the day and I've not found anything I can eat that takes the edge off yet

buckingmad · 05/06/2023 11:21

@Niam4 with my first we told our families around 9 weeks as it was christmas.

This time round we've told as soon as we found out as we sadly had a miscarriage a couple of months before and only got to tell them the sad news that time.

There really is no right or wrong time, just when you feel it is right.

cossie13 · 05/06/2023 11:24

Has anyone had any symptoms of Cholestasis very early on? With my 1st the itching didn't start until around 35 weeks and 26 weeks with my second. But this time, the sole of my left foot is so itchy it's insanely frustrating. I know it's cholestasis but I never knew it could kick in this early

sashastuck · 05/06/2023 11:43

Hi everyone!

@cossie13 I feel the same - I’ve actually booked a scan for when I’m about 10+4 but I’m debating cancelling that one. I just worry every morning when waking up and the peace of mind the scan gives you is worth its weight in gold (for the few days that it reassures you haha!). Still unsure, it’s so much money.

@ThomasinaLivesHere yesss the Omega 3 ones get stuck in my throat sometimes too!

I think my nausea has started. Yesterday I had a few icky moments especially when having to smell DP’s cooked chicken and salmon. And when I woke up for work this morning until I ate at work, I had mild nausea. So it begins!! Hope everyone has a good Monday with not too much vomming x

Panapan · 05/06/2023 11:46

@EL27 I had my booking in at home last week. Lots of form filling, a full medical history and they took urine and blood. It took about an hour.

@Niam4 mine already know. I told my mum and she managed to tell both my siblings (I seem to forget every time that she is utterly useless at keeping a secret!). My view is that if something goes wrong I want people to know and be able to support me. But others prefer to be private - it’s definitely a personal choice.

Flossiepot · 05/06/2023 11:49

Hi everyone, hope you're all well ☺️
Had our early scan yesterday baby measuring 8w4d! Wow what an experience to see the little heartbeat 🥰 feels so real now.
They did mention I had a little bruise within my womb area and this may result in a bit of bleeding - totally normal as everything stretches apparently but hopefully gives a little piece of mind to those who have had little bleeds / specs of blood in discharge. Xx

Misspotterscat · 05/06/2023 12:20

@Flossiepot lovely scan news

we told our families quite early, we didn’t last time but then told them I’d miscarried so I thought we may as well tell them when we found out.

I am 6+2, full of cold, not sleeping, nausea is here every now and again, and I just generally feel 🤢. I have no motivation for work and just want to lie on the sofa and watch crap tv.

sashastuck · 05/06/2023 12:33

@Misspotterscat I second that feeling of wanting to lie down and watch tv! I’ve got to go teach PE now! 😭 Luckily it’s yoga!

Those of you with nausea upon waking up, do you find that eating as soon as you wake up helps? Wondering whether to keep crackers by the bed or have toast whilst I’m getting ready for work if it persists?

Hi all! I'm due early Jan.
I'm only 9+2 weeks pregnant, already suffering from quite bad nausea and sickness now the past few nights i've been in pain when sleeping on my sides. It's like a pressure/burning feeling on my outer hip area. I didn't expect this kind of pain so soon in my pregnancy, i don't even have a bump yet and i've lost weight instead of gaining anything. Anyone else had this so early on? Just looking for some reassurance.

Inmydreams88 · 05/06/2023 13:10

I don't think there's any right or wrong time to tell people. It's down to your own circumstances. We don't plan on telling family until after 12 week scan, possibly longer depending on how I'm feeling. We don't live near any family though so it's not been something we've found hard to keep secret as we don't see them on a daily or weekly basis. I've told a couple of people in work though because I needed their support and help the past few weeks.

buckingmad · 05/06/2023 13:10

@sashastuck I really try to eat first thing and I manage a few mouthfuls of dry toast. If I can lie there for a while after eating then it makes me feel a bit better but if I have to get up for toddler or work then I end up having a retching session whether I've eaten or not. Definitely worth a go though.

@Inmydreams88 I had that kind of pain with my first if I lay on my side, almost as if I'd been lying like that for days and it was kinda going numb? I think tbh it's all the stretching and moving. I love lying on my back so I'm making the most of it until later on when you're not supposed to do it anymore! Things that helped last time were regular physio, pilates and sleeping with a pillow in-between my knees.

Thanks! I think I will try sleeping on my back for the next few weeks while I still can. I've ordered a new mattress topper as my mattress is quite new and even before I was pregnant it hurt my lower back. I've also googled some exercises I can do to stretch it out. Fingers crossed it works for me!

ItsAJourney · 05/06/2023 13:29

@Niam4 I think it really depends on when you feel comfortable and at what points of your pregnancy that you may want others to know and have extra support etc. We told both sets of parents and one of my friends on the day we found out but that’s because we had been having fertility treatment and so they all knew when our test day was. We’re not planning to tell siblings, friends, work etc until after the 12 week scan.

@Flossiepot Congratulations on your scan! How exciting! And good that they’ve warned you about the bruising so you don’t panic if any bleeding does come.

suz2285 · 05/06/2023 13:57

@cossie13 my DH is the opposite, i think until i've got a bump he doesn't see any issue, even with my nausea all night! I've been doing up our bedroom so spent the last few weeks building/destroying flat pack, doing the garden and various other things! He did however say I should stop running - i was a regular runner a while ago but since having covid I've not managed to get back to doing it regularly and prob not a good time to start back up again, i'm exhausted enough, walks are enough for now! He's also a bit iffy about me wild swimming, and I'm not 100% sure on that either, so far i've just been going less and staying in not as long.... research seems to suggest it's fine as long as you don't freeze!

@Niam4 and @buckingmad that's the same as me, I didn't tell my folks last time and then when I lost baby at 8 weeks I didn't have any support, I haven't told them about the MC but i'm planning to tell my mum next week about this baby, and the last one, when i'm 8 weeks this time. Because I want the support this time if something was to go wrong i think, but i'll have to caveat the announcement by letting them know it's a cautious congratulations, even though everything seems fine this time, and i'm ONLY telling mum, no one else until probably 14-15 weeks. She lives 200 miles away so i could def get away with not telling them for a while! But she's wanting to come visit when i'm going to be around 12 weeks and it would feel weird not telling her then anyway.

@Inmydreams88 yeah i've got a weird feeling in my hips and legs and a sore back! it's just the hormones.... lovely isn't it ??

@Flossiepot great news about the scan, such a good feeling when you can see them!

Mummyme87 · 05/06/2023 14:51

@Flossiepot good news on scan! My scan last week they also said there was bruising caused by the placenta embedding.

I’m really finding pregnancy tough this time. Everything is such hard work. Just want to lie down all the time. I’ve bloody volunteered to help on my youngest school trip to pizza express on Wednesday 😑
