@Eirlys1986 oh those brownies do sound good. I’ve been eating solidly for the last week but could barely stomach anything today. I’ve had a banana, a Hospital cheese sandwich and some fries. Basically my toddlers preferred beige diet! I couldn’t even be in the room when he was eating chilli for his tea 🤢aww I’m sure corfu will be great once you get there! I’d been trying to convince DP we should book a last min hol this month as I have leave but I’m not sure I’d cope if I felt like this. my scans on Tuesday. X

Eirlys1986 · 03/06/2023 20:44

@suz2285 they are amazing! And only 89 calories a slice which makes me even more in love with them. I shall get recipe off
OH and post
@Mummyme87 oh poo to long days tomorrow 😢, I imagine they are LOOONNGG days in your line of work too. Sending hugs and anti emetics x

Eirlys1986 · 03/06/2023 20:46

@Muriel84 do you think you could go on a holiday when nausea time has hopefully passed but not too big yet? We are doing this as a bit of a last hurrah to hotels for a
while as it is a pain in the arse getting hotel rooms with separate sleep space for
one toddler and so expensive so we shall be villa/apartmenting until the two (haha!) of them are much older now then will revert to hotels as I do love a nice hotel

buckingmad · 03/06/2023 20:47

DH is out with a list of everything I fancy. I’m starting to worry about how much weight I’m losing and how little I’m eating. I was only 8stone ish to begin with so don’t really have much reserve to dip into.

Toddler is climbing all over me going to bed and I just want to scream at her to stop before I throw up everywhere. I hate that I feel so rubbish and am not my usual calm cuddly self for bed time with her.

Im going to speak to the doctor on Monday about taking something for the nausea.

apologies for posting this to everyone feeling sick as a dog. Here are the lovely but vaguely healthy brownie/blondies. It’s from a toddler/adult food site that my OH’s personal trainer sent to him 👍🏻

So Good Chickpea Blondies

Made with nutritious, straight-forward ingredients, these super yummy Chickpea Blondies are a favorite dessert. The best bean recipe!

Muriel84 · 03/06/2023 21:10

@Eirlys1986 maybe we could, I guess it would have to be September after the school hols. We’re thinking of heading to CBeebies theme park in Alton towers in the autumn 🙈 fun times! Thanks for the recipe! Great way to get some extra protein in. My fussy toddler will eat chickpeas and endless bananas.

@buckingmad ah it’s really hard and only going to get harder as we get bigger I fear. My son came and stood over me and brought his arms down hard on my tum as I was laying on the sofa this eve. Try not to worry about your weight, I was low bmi at booking last pregnancy. I hadn’t lost any, I just hadn’t gained. I gained plenty the next two trimesters. Bub will be fine, I’ve worked with women with very low BMIs in the past who’ve had healthy babies. Just try and eat what you can and ignore the scales.x

Eirlys1986 · 03/06/2023 21:41

@Muriel84 wise words re: eating whatever we can/want to eat and scales ignoring. I think that applies to everyone, regardless of whether we’re worrying about lower or higher BMI, or indeed just worrying about how much our bodies are going to change. It is just so amazing watching what your body is capable of all by itself! Fuel it however feels best to you 🙌🏻

Mummyme87 · 03/06/2023 22:03

@Eirlys1986 jealous of corfu! Although yeah feeling sick abroad isn’t the one!! I’m off to Rhodes in October as a bridesmaid. Will be 25wks

Eirlys1986 · 03/06/2023 22:09

@Mummyme87 I love rhodes! Hopefully at 25 weeks you will be in the throes of the “nicer” bit of pregnancy with no sickness and a reasonable bump to carry around in the sunshine ☀️ xx

sashastuck · 04/06/2023 08:26

Thanks for the recipe @Eirlys1986 they look lovely!

@Mummyme87 hope your long day at work flies by today. With minimal sickness 🤞🏼

How are those of you going back to school tomorrow feeling? I’m dreading it to be honest. A long, hot half term ahead with my Year 1s 😭

Ttcdcno1 · 04/06/2023 09:10

@sashastuck yeah I am not looking forward to it! My class are very demanding 🙈This week has been ok because when the sickness has hit I’ve just laid down on the sofa. Not sure I’m going to cope well at school 😂hoping it’ll speed time up a bit though. One week til my booking appt. That’s the next milestone to get to.

@Ttcdcno1 good luck!! The not being able to sit/lay down whenever you want is tricky! My school has a policy of no sitting down whilst teaching but because my Head knows I’m pregnant I’m just going to have to do it when needed. Your booking appointment will be here before you know it!!

OP posts:
Ttcdcno1 · 04/06/2023 10:33

@sashastuck you told them early didn’t you? I’ll be 8w+3 tomorrow and I’m going to have to tell them because I haven’t asked for the appt off yet. It’s in my ppa so won’t be a problem but I’m a terrible liar and if I just said I’ve got an appt I need to go to they’d know anyway 😂

Muriel84 · 04/06/2023 10:38

@drjodiyogi i do say careful, though I’m not sure it has much effect! I guess the uterus is quite safe in the pelvis at the mo, but when bump pops I’ll naturally be defending it a lot. The main thing is he climbs over me a lot when I’m lying down, like when we’re putting him to bed. I guess we’ll just have to reduce his opportunity to do that.

FirstT1meMum · 04/06/2023 11:02

@sashastuck I'm not too worried yet as I have an amazing student ATM but worried about when they've gone!! 🤣 Going to be such a busy half term with sports day, trips, leavers, class assemblies! I feel exhausted just thinking about it 🤣🤣

Eirlys1986 · 04/06/2023 11:09

@drjodiyogi tbh my son is a bit too bananas 🍌 to take on board if I told him not to sit or climb on me etc so I haven’t really said much. I am telling him periodically that there is a little baby in mummy’s belly to get him used to the idea(he can’t talk much yet so no danger of him letting the cat out of the bag to family yet! 😂). When bump is bigger I will make sure to tell him to be careful but also don’t want it to become a “thing” from word go that he can’t do things “because of the baby” as that may foster resentment before they even get here! I think baby’s are touch little nuts on the whole and so long as you aren’t getting full on drop kicked in the stomach I reckon they will be fine.

youaremysunshine03 · 04/06/2023 11:13

@drjodiyogi ive just been telling my daughter to be careful as I’ve got a tummy ache. She’s 3 though so understands more and isn’t too rough! Wont be telling her about baby until 12 weeks as it’ll be a constant stream of “is the baby coming yet” which I don’t want to have to deal with for longer than necessary 😂

MustIthough · 04/06/2023 13:44

Just checking in! 8w Scan on Wednesday. Still nauseous but managing if I eat little and often. Had a day of cramping and generally feeling shite yesterday. 1st pregnancy so not sure what’s normal but it worried me. No spotting or bleeding at any point in the last few weeks though. This scan is my last with the IVF clinic if all ok then I’ll be handed over to public system. Hope everyone else has good juju in the week to come!

buckingmad · 04/06/2023 13:56

@MustIthough with my first I had so many aches and pains. Your body is about to change a lot! I’ve not noticed it so much this time yet.

finally found something I can stomach, edamame beans! And they’re naturally high in folate so win win!

FirstT1meMum · 04/06/2023 15:21

@MustIthough I felt the same the last couple of days, just lots of niggling aches and cramps, proper freaked me out! Seems to have settled a lot today so hopefully everything is okay and will settle for you too!

Hey @drjodiyogi I have DD 2.5, I wouldn't let her jump on my tummy and ask her to be careful. I find my boobs really painful at the moment too, but obviously she does jump on me for a cuddle etc. But the way I see it, how many women have been pregnant whilst looking after a todler, it can't exactly be high risk!

EL27 · 04/06/2023 21:09

Hey all,

Has anyone had their first appointment at their home? My midwife rang me last week to say first appointment is at my house and when was I available. So it's booked for tomorrow morning.

Just wondering as I have no idea what happens during it, is it just a chat or do they do tests at home?

Mummyme87 · 04/06/2023 21:36

@EL27 some hospitals still do booking appts at home, usually some quieter areas. It’s lots of questions about past medical history, family history, previous pregnancies, this pregnancy and then info going forward. She will make appropriate referrals and may do blood tests

proper vommy day today. Can’t wait for bed tonight. And OMG! Itchy nips!!!

Vikki7 · 04/06/2023 21:59

My symptoms have become much more mild since 9+2 and some symptoms have disappeared completely.

I'm feeling like I'm lying to myself when I say I'm pregnant! I'm extra emotional because I lost twin 2 in 2018 (MMC) at 9+2 and I am almost certainly expecting bad news at my 12 week scan.

I know I shouldn't Google but it says pregnancy symptoms are at their worst week 9-10 as hormone levels peak and I'm losing symptoms.

I know week 9 is a huge week for chromosomal development and I have a known chromosome abnormality that has a 50% chance of being inherited by future children.

I don't suppose anyone else is losing symptoms after week 9?

I know it's just a watch and wait situation but it's tough!
