@stressshead @FirstT1meMum my nausea only really kicked in within the last couple of days around the 7 week mark, and it’s still very mild. I tend to just get it when I’m hungry and then having a snack sorts it out. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know, I was worrying about it a lot too), plenty of people have no nausea at all.

Lightningrain · 31/05/2023 16:45

Today’s the first time I’ve felt really nauseous at 8w+4. It was almost lunchtime so I think I must have just left it too long to eat. I had a couple of biscuits and some flavoured sparkling water and felt better within half an hour or so.

I’m having to buy food every day as I just don’t know what I’ll want to eat. It just seems to be beige, salty carbs which isn’t great. I feel like if I keep grazing on rubbish all day I’ll be the size of a house!

Mummyme87 · 31/05/2023 17:28

Always constantly hungry. Like always starving. All for carbs!!!

@Eirlys1986 I’ve told him. He was texting his dad asking, saying he’s clocked a few things. He then asked me outright again. He’s asked a lot of questions, not sure how he really feels about it

Eirlys1986 · 31/05/2023 18:06

Oh goodness @Mummyme87 it’s a tough thing for you and him isn’t it? How old is he? You know eventually when baby is here he will absolutely adore them but it’s understandable they will feel worried about it to begin with as their mum will physically change and become a mummy to someone else who will be lots more dependent on them. In some ways I feel so much guilt for putting a second baby into the mix when mine is only 20 months but equally I think he won’t know any different soon enough but won’t have any emotional intelligence or ability for me to reassure him in the way you will be able to with yours x
Maybe you could get them involved in deciding how they could do a baby reveal to other family members to include them early on if they want to

Lovethatjourneyforme · 31/05/2023 19:53

Re the lack of symptoms, I'm 6+5, not really got any symptoms yet. Very slightly sore boots but I mean VERY slightly. I only had mild nausea with my last pregnancy which went smoothly so I'm not worried at the moment 🙂

Those that have kids already, has anyone taken theirs along to their booking appointment or plan to?? I don't have anyone else that can have her that day. Not worried about her being difficult or anything, she's pretty well behaved and I can resort to bluey on my phone when needs be. Just unsure if it's allowed?

Luhou · 31/05/2023 19:57

@Lovethatjourneyforme I haven't managed to get my booking appointment yet. I rang today but no answer.

I have considered this, as my childcare options are limited. But I think she's just that bit to old that she would be aware of our conversation 🤔 And we haven't told her yet. If you don't have another option then I don't see it being an issue.

Mummyme87 · 31/05/2023 20:27

@Eirlys1986 he is almost 9, he has a 5th old brother already… he said he is happy and worried, his points were - it will be nice having a bigger family, but we will need a bigger car, we need to buy more food, it will cry and will team up with his brother against him 😬 😂

Eirlys1986 · 31/05/2023 20:45

@Mummyme87 ah bless him, I’m sure his mind will be whirring with some more questions and thoughts for you soon enough! Will he be able to keep it a secret from 5 year old and his friends etc?

Misspotterscat · 31/05/2023 20:45

Has anyone experienced a sore throat as a symptom? Really hoping I’ve not caught anything and I’ve googled and found that it can sometimes be a symptom?

CatLadyH · 31/05/2023 20:52

@Misspotterscat i have had a sore throat, cough and sniffle, thought it was hay fever at first but it isn’t 🤧 feeling better today though. Started on Thursday (before I had BFP) but is nearly gone.

stressshead · 31/05/2023 21:08

@FirstT1meMum I feel you I'm napping when my toddler naps house is just upside down as that's my window to do jobs 🙈
I don't feel like it's real this time around think it's just been twice I've felt nauseous nothing compared to before I was bad and it started very early.

@Lilothblos thank you that's reassuring to hear

@Lightningrain I remember having to decide last minute what was for dinner last time around it's so hard isn't it

@Lovethatjourneyforme I'm unsure if can take them I'm sure if have no other option then needs must and all that

Thank you for all the reply's ladies xx

TrudyProud · 01/06/2023 08:47

So yesterday I finally had my early ultrasound. I was exactly 8weeks! Heard my babies heartbeat 💓. My heart is so full

How's everyone doing?

sashastuck · 01/06/2023 09:07

@TrudyProud 🥺 that’s beautiful! Congratulations! Makes it more real doesn’t it x

@TrudyProud congrats 😊😊 it’s wonderful isn’t it?

all ok here 9w5d. Have got used to the nausea now and got better and managing it with food so not suffering.

can’t believe I’m almost a quarter of the way!

Flossiepot · 01/06/2023 09:16

Ahhh so happy for you guys with the scans 🥰
Got mine on Sunday where I should be 8+3ish🤞🏼🤞🏼
How's everyone getting on with the dreaded bloat? I've found myself looking at maternity clothes this week as I'm so scared i look pregnant already in most of my summery dresses 🙈

suz2285 · 01/06/2023 09:21

@TrudyProud yey! Such a special moment 🥰 I saw the heartbeat yesterday too! So crazy

I had a private scan booked for next week but cancelled it as not much point now that I managed to get a scan yesterday, I said to DH that maybe I'd go at 10 weeks or something but he's of the opinion to just wait for 12 weeks now and save some money, which is a fair point assuming all seems ok 🤞

@Flossiepot my bloat has felt a bit better the last few days, even dared to weigh myself this morning! 😂 only a few lbs heavier than last time I went near them, and that was months ago so not as bad as I feared tho still in the dreaded 30 BMI category, I was hoping to just sneak into 29 😂

TunnocksTCake · 01/06/2023 09:22

I've been rubbish at coming on here recently, been so tired I'm falling asleep on the sofa at 8:30! I have got my scan this evening after work, such a long day ahead!! Im feeling really nervous about it even though symptoms are still strong. I just remember going when I had my MMC and even though Ive had a successful pregnancy since I still have the fear its going to happen again. I might ask them to go straight to TV scan rather than faffing around with abdominal, that wait to find the pregnancy is agonising I find.

@Flossiepot SO BLOATED! I am going on holiday at the end of next week and have left all my shopping to the last minute because I wasnt sure how pregnant I would be and now I need to find nice comfy elasticated shorts and floaty tops!! Work is a struggle, only one of my pairs of trousers fits!

cossie13 · 01/06/2023 09:59

@TunnocksTCake I know what you mean about being rubbish at coming on here. I come on to about 50 new messages, catch up and realise that some were from a few days ago so feel bad for responding this late! We have a early scan booked for tomorrow, nerves are really kicking in now. Good luck for your scan later!

Lilothblos · 01/06/2023 10:40

Has anyone told their work yet? I feel like I might have to this week as they have scheduled a meeting that clashes with my 12 week scan. I’m still only 7 weeks so feels really early but I guess even if the worst happened I’d probably want to explain anyway. I’m just really nervous to tell my boss for some reason!

youaremysunshine03 · 01/06/2023 10:46

Hey all! I dipped into the first thread but took myself away as I was getting too into my own head and worried over spotting/losing symptoms and found this second thread.

The nausea has come back with a vengeance this week and I’ve just had a scan this morning which confirmed everything’s ok. Saw a little bean with a heartbeat 🥺 all in line with my dates and no reason for the spotting, likely just baby embedding itself in. Safe to say I cried!

So happy to see all your lovely scans too ❤️

Misspotterscat · 01/06/2023 11:10

@CatLadyH thanks, I think I may just be ill!

I am at the point in this pregnancy now when I miscarried last time so my anxiety is through the roof at the moment.

@Lilothblos I had to tell my manager when my last pregnancy ended as I needed time off. They were really shocked, I actually think it would have been easier if they’d already known. It’s so hard to know when’s the right time to tell. I’m really nervous about telling them again, but will probably tell them after my early scan.

FirstT1meMum · 01/06/2023 11:51

@Lilothblos currently on half term but planning to tell my head on Monday due to appointments coming up and the fact that there's obviously illnesses I can't be around (slapped cheek). Will be 8W+6 when I tell them and I'm slightly dreading it! Trying to decide how to casually drop it in 🤣🫣

cossie13 · 01/06/2023 11:57

@Lilothblos I've told my work, but only because they tried sending me home with a stomach bug. Had to explain that it wasn't a stomach bug that they could catch!! 😂 But they've been amazing, already said whatever appointments I have I don't need to ask for the time I can just go and tell them as and when I leave which I never had in either of my previous pregnancies!

youaremysunshine03 · 01/06/2023 12:24

@Lilothblos I haven’t told work yet, mainly because I’m potentially in line for a promotion and don’t want to ruin any chances. Plus I work from home so it’s easy to hide any sickness. I’m going to hold out until after my 12 week scan

Eirlys1986 · 01/06/2023 12:39

@FirstT1meMum I would email them to ask if you can having a meeting to discuss something. My friend is a teacher and did similar with her head and he immediately said when she walked in that “you’re either sick or about to tell me you are pregnant as lady’s only ask to see me in that situation!” 😂. Maybe letting the head guess in advance will make it easier. I’m also nervous to tell our manager and my business partner as it was tough when I was off last time and I feel like I’ve been back 5 mins and now telling them again!
@TrudyProud wonderful scan news ❤️
